Uranus In Taurus 2018-2026 – Change In The Horizon

Uranus in Taurus is ON! Uranus changed signs and moved from Aries into Taurus on 15 May 2018. Uranus will stay in Taurus until 26 April 2026.

Maybe Uranus’ move into Taurus has disrupted your life already. Uranus transits are like a bolt of lightning. They come unexpectedly to illuminate something that has been kept in the dark.

uranus-in-taurus

In Roman mythology, Uranus was “the great awakener” and to the Greeks, Uranus was the “God of the sky” and the creator of life as we know it. The Greeks said that Uranus (the sky) and Gaea (the Earth) emerged directly from the primordial chaos.

In astrology, Uranus rules everything that comes from the sky: the rain, the clouds, the lightning, electricity, radio waves, meteorites, intelligent life forms.

Uranus’s symbol is a circle, a crescent, and a cross – symbolizing the divine spirit (the circle) which expresses itself on the earth (the cross) through the spiritual and mental realm (Moon). Just like a thunder, Uranus brings the divine truth in our lives.

Uranus’ glyph also resembles an antenna satellite, symbolizing the ability to capture the ‘divine signal’ from the universe. That’s why Uranus is connected to divine intuition and the “the sixth sense”.

Uranus makes it possible for us to connect wirelessly across space and time. Uranus rules the internet!

Uranus also rules intelligent life forms, and some say, even God itself.

Creationism is based on the assumption that life has been created by a supreme being. Intelligent design theory brings the creationism theory further. Although they don’t necessarily identify “God” as the designer, intelligent design advocates say that living organisms are too complex to be reduced to natural selection alone (Darwinist theory).

Sci-Fi authors have advanced similar hypothesis, even before the intelligent design theory emerged. Arthur C. Clarke, in his 1968 book “2001: A space odyssey” writes how a mysterious black monolith fallen from the sky triggered a shift in human evolution.

In astrology, Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury. If Mercury rules the mind, it is fair to say that Uranus is the Mastermind. If Mercury is the personal computer, Uranus is the server.

Uranus changing signs is similar to a general software update. How do you approach software updates? Are you annoyed when you have to stop everything you’re doing and restart your computer? Or are you excited about the possibilities that come with these new features?

If you are like me and like most people, you resist it at first. Even when you buy the next iPhone! It is something about the ‘new’ that is always annoying. Predictability feels right, while disruptions trigger our fears and anxieties. But if you ‘go with the flow’ and embrace the new, you will soon start to reap the benefits. If you resist it, the process can be very difficult.

Uranus brings progress, progress at any price. Progress, whether you like it or not.

Uranus and Taurus – From Sky to Earth

While Uranus rules the sky, Taurus rules the Earth. Taurus is everything that is stable in our life: our values, our land, our properties, what we rely on.

Taurus is where you feel stable and grounded. It is where you are certain. When Uranus moves into Taurus, it will shake exactly what you thought it was stable and predictable in your life.

But Uranus doesn’t bring change for the sake of change. Uranus brings new perspectives, new outlooks – it upgrades your perception of reality so that you can get a little bit closer to the truth.

Taurus is the sign of sustainability. Whatever is unsustainable in your life will change. Even if you may not believe it now, we all need Uranian shake-ups from time to time.

What exactly can we expect from Uranus’ transit into Taurus?

Let’s have a look at what Taurus stands for:

Taurus rules the land, so in the next 7 years, we can expect a rise in sustainable agriculture, sustainable living, permaculture, eco farms. More and more people will move out of the big cities to places where they can be closer to nature. It’s not like we will go back in time. Uranus always brings progress! But we will definitely have a paradigm shift in our relationship to nature, land, food.

Taurus rules property and ownership, how you define ‘what is mine’.  Uranus rules data – especially what you can do with the data. In the last 7 years, when Uranus was in Aries, we experienced an explosion of data, especially over the internet. Data has become ‘the new currency’. Companies all over the world raced to capture as much customer data as possible.

But Taurus likes to make clear distinctions. Who owns the data? Who has the right to use it, and under which circumstances?

The recent Facebook data scandal and GDPR legislation in Europe (which comes into effect exactly after Uranus moves into Taurus) come to help clarify ‘what is mine’ and ‘what is yours’. Companies can not just do whatever they want with customers’ personal data anymore.

You, as a customer, have the right to ask a company to remove your data from a company’s database. The data is ‘yours’. This is exactly what Uranus in Taurus is about.

Taurus rules money. Uranus in Taurus will ask us to reevaluate what money is. We are so used to think of money as a ‘thing’ – we go to work, and somehow money pops up into our bank account. With a swipe of a card, we can buy a nice dress. Or get ourselves into a financial disaster. In the last decades, money has lost its intrinsic value.

We have the stock market, we have housing bubbles, we have movie stars and football players who earn millions – a few years later are forgotten. Uranus will ask us to re-evaluate what value really is. Uranus in Taurus, together with Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn will bring big shifts into the money market.

If Uranus in Aries was all about speculations, risk-taking, and startups spreading like mushrooms, Uranus in Taurus will be about shifting your focus from ideas to practice. About taking ownership. About building something that can stand the test of time. It’s not that we should go back to farming and old ways of doing things. It is about finding creative ways to have ownership.

The best investment you can make with Uranus in Taurus is learning how to become self-autonomous. Learn how to cook. Get a garden. Start your own business, with your own resources (without money from investors).

Taurus rules beauty. The concept of beauty has evolved and will continue to evolve. From cave paintings to Greek sculptures and renaissance, beauty has always changed its meaning. Impressionists for example (with their lovely, colorful nature paintings) were considered radicals in their time, because they didn’t follow the rules of academic painting. Nowadays, art has moved completely outside the painting. With Uranus in Taurus, we will experience another paradigm shift in how we define beauty.

We will all be influenced by these trends, however you will feel the energy of Uranus transit in Taurus stronger if your ascendant sign is in a fixed sign (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius), or if you have personal planets – Moon, Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars – in fixed signs.

New Moon In Taurus – Revelations And Discernment

The New Moon in Taurus takes place on Wednesday April 26th, at 6°.  The Moon feels great in Taurus because she is exalted in the Earthy sign of the Bull.

The New Moon in Taurus doesn’t make major aspects to other planets. An unaspected planet is not “influenced” by any other planets and is “free” to manifest its energy – so the New Moon will serve us with pure Taurus energy at its fullest.

Taurus is very connected to the Nature, to the Earth, to the Life Force. Taurus is a very stable and grounded energy and it will ask us to create solid foundations for the future.

Imagine the Zodiac without Taurus. Let’s say you want to build a new house. In Aries, you come with the idea, with the insight. You are going to build a house. And then in Gemini you start to get all excited and build rooms here and there, some balconies and maybe a roof top terrace. But without the Taurean energy, your building will collapse (that’s if you start building it in the first place!). We all need the solid foundations in our life without which nothing can be done.  Will all need Taurus.

The New Moon in Taurus will invite you to get in touch with what is real, what can be touched, smelled and tasted. Now it’s time to experience, enjoy, touch, taste and feel the world around you. Focus on your connection with the Earth. Go out and spend some time in Nature. Walk through the grass barefoot, hug a tree. Appreciate the Mother Earth. Connect spiritually with the nature.

The sabian symbol for this New Moon is “The woman of Samaria at the ancestral well”,  symbolizing the meeting of the traditional past with the creative spirit of the future.

The sabian symbol speaks about the New Testament episode when Jesus meets with a Samarian woman at a well and reveals his messianic nature for the first time.

Samarian woman

He says:

“Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life”.

The woman said to him:

“I know that Messiah is coming. When he comes, he will proclaim all things to us”.

And then Jesus said to her:

“I am he, the one who is speaking to you”.

We start to understand the meaning of this sabian symbol if we take a look at the ruler of this New Moon. The ruler of the New Moon in Taurus is Venus, now at 29° in the Water sign of Pisces.

The 29° Pisces is a very spiritual degree, the last degree of the Zodiac. A new life cycle is on the horizon as the old cycles dissolves.  But an old order is never open to a new Revelation until it opens to the power of Love. Venus is exalted in Pisces and in the terminal degree of the zodiac, signifying the undying, everlasting power of love.

Venus has been floating for a long time near Chiron, the wounded healer.  Over the last weeks, she has sacrificed her old values, her old beliefs, gave her heart away, and is now ready to be born again.

Keep your heart open to the revelation that is about to come. Make sure you are tuned in with yourself so you can recognize it when it comes. And just like the Samarian woman, leave behind the ancestral realm of the past and embrace the New fully and completely.

The revelatory nature of this New Moon becomes more and more apparent when we look at the conjunction of Mercury retrograde with Uranus. Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury and a meeting between the two always brings breakthroughs and revelations.

Because Mercury is retrograde, you now have the chance to break free from an old thinking pattern. The things you discover will surprise you and shake your belief system.

Mercury and Uranus also trine Saturn – ensuring that all your breakthroughs and brilliant ideas have a solid foundation to grow in the following months. Moreover, Mercury is in mutual reception with Mars in Gemini, making sure you will act upon our ideas. The New Moon will bring you the clarity and the discernment you need so you know what to do next.

Look where 6° Taurus falls in your chart. The house where this New Moon lands is the fertile soil you can ground yourself in. Also look if the New Moon OR Venus at 29° Pisces make any aspects to your planets or angles – this will give you further insights on what to expect from this magical New Moon.

A Healing, Earthy Full Moon In Taurus

The Full Moon which is also a Supermoon occurs in Taurus, the sign of her exaltation. The Moon feels at her best in the sensual, earthy sign of Taurus.

After the stressful previous Full Moon in Aries, which might have pushed you out of your natural rhythm, this Full Moon’s energy is healing, earthy and grounding. The Full Moon in Taurus will gently help you reclaim your peace and inner equilibrium – now is the time to do things that align you with your internal clock, get grounded and find your center.

“Patience” by  Emily Balivet

A sextile from Chiron will support the gentle healing. Chiron is the medicine man and goes very well with the earthy energy of Taurus.

You may want to try some healing herbs, experiment with flower essences or do aromatherapy.

The ruler of the Full Moon, Venus, is now in Capricorn, adding to the earthy qualities of Taurus.

In Capricorn, Venus brings the bigger perspective and it will help you manage your resources and set smart goals.

If Moon is Taurus sees something that smells good and wants to buy it, Venus in Capricorn will gently remind her that sometimes she is better off saving the money, so she can buy something more valuable than a whim.

The awareness (Capricorn) of your energy levels and resources (Taurus) can help you realize how to spend them wisely.

Moon in Taurus rules our values, our senses, our emotional as well as physical well-being, our diet and our routines and rituals. During this Full Moon, which will release the energies build up starting with the New Moon on the 30th of October, we will be coming back into the world of senses, back into our body, back into engaging with our everyday environment.

Neptune is also coming close to a conjunction to the South Node of the past, highlighting even more the need to break free from patterns and behaviors that no longer serve us. Neptune is now stationary direct and is stronger than ever. Pay attention to your dreams as you may receive important messages in the next few days.

The reason why Full Moons are so powerful is because the Moon is on the other side of the Sun, where she can shine in the full splendor. But she is also very exposed there, because the Sun sits just opposite, watching her every move.

During the time of the Full Moon, the Sun in Scorpio is conjunct Lilith, the dark side of the Moon, exposing all the feminine wounds, all the pain, frustrations and inhibitions that the anima has been building up through centuries and millenniums of development of the psyche. Because Lilith is conjunct the Sun, it is likely she will blame the men (Sun) for all the suffering, while asking the Moon do deal with it.

Thankfully, the harmonious Chiron influence (sextile to the Moon and trine to the Sun/Lilith) will facilitate the integration of the dark side of anima and animus, healing and letting go of anything that needs to be healed.

Things to do during the Full Moon in Taurus:

  • This Full Moon energy is very earthy and feminine – take the time to listen to the signals you’re getting from your body; recognize what it feels like to be in your body. Listen to your body’s response on what you put in it. Follow your own natural rhythm of living and do what feels right to you
  • Inner balance can blossom when your everyday life can provide a structure that can nurture and support you. (Re)discover routines and rituals such as: 5 minutes of meditation every day at 9:00, a walk in the park every Tuesday and Thursday, or simply having your coffee the way you like it, at the same time, with the same ingredients. You can write down your (new) ritual and put it in your diary
  • Shopping will feel so good – but make sure you only spend money on valuable items
  • Spend time in nature – if you have the opportunity go hiking or camping, or do gardening
  • A healthy level of indulgence is appropriate now. You can slowly savor some chocolate or a glass of red wine – sensual experiences of food and touch are important for Taurus, so now during the Full Moon is the best time to explore them
  • Reflect on your feelings of self-worth – what are they built on? On what you’ve been told, or rather on your mature, realistic self-assessment? No one can tell you anything worthwhile about you that you don’t already believe yourself
  • Last but not least, don’t forget this Full Moon is also a Supermoon so go out for a nice walk and watch it  🙂
