North Node Moves Into Leo – Embrace Your Heart’s Longing

The North Node moves into Leo and the South Node moves into Aquarius on May 9th /May 10th, depending where your live. No more “do your duty” or “suffer the consequences” polarity of Virgo/ Pisces. We are about to explore a new theme until December of 2018 – the theme of creative self-expression against the group-think.

We have 18 months to  release ourselves from the control our mind (South Node in Aquarius) and learn instead how to live from the heart (North Node in Leo).

Many people know that the Lunar Nodes have “something to do” with the eclipses. The Nodes are abstract points reflecting where the moon’s orbit crosses the ecliptic. Eclipses happen only near the Lunar Nodes, when the Moon moves directly and precisely in front of the Sun. The Nodes blend the subtle energies of the Moon and the Sun, of the feminine and the masculine, of the Yin and the Yang that make life as we know it.

That’s why the Nodes are always somehow linked to our destiny. Transits to the North Node tend to show in the most important moments of our life: when we move from one phase of our life to the next, at the birth of a child, when a family member passes away, when we meet a soul mate. The Nodes represent our “spiritual compass”, the “essence” of our purpose in life.

The Nodes come in pairs of opposite zodiacal signs –  the North Node represents the unfolding destiny, and the South Node, the karmic past. The North Node is literally our “North star” and represents fresh new learning and the qualities we need to embrace to move forward, while the South Node is the repetitive patterns and old lessons. The past (South Node) is the foundation of the future (North Node), the “old” on which we build “the new”.

Our heart’s longing

Leo is ruled by the Sun, the life-giving, generous and radiant star that gives us light, warmth and energy. The Sun is the “engine” of our solar system, without it we won’t exist. Leo rules our heart. The heart is the “Sun” of our body, the little engine in our chest that pumps life. The beating heart is the promise of life. Our heart is the core of who we are, our center of gravity, the place where we feel fully alive.

North Node

When we live from our center, everything is the way it should be. As children (Leo also rules children) we knew how to get in touch with the innocence of our existence, but as we grew up we learned to follow rules, listen to our parents and be what the society is expecting us to be.

But we have never really forgotten that place of joy, radiance and innocence. The deepest longing in life is the longing to be one with the center, to get connected with that place of love and truth. This evolutionary calling is usually experienced when the North Node touches a point in our chart. When you have a North Node transit, the Universe is asking you to get out of the cage – even if it is challenging and painful. This longing is the homesickness of the heart, the yearning to return back to your divine nature.

This spiritual crisis comes in different ways. Sometimes, it comes with a clear and strong yearning and desire to express more and to be more – to give your uniquely creative gifts to something bigger than yourself.

Other times, it comes with hopelessness and frustration because you’re unsure about who you are and how you fit into the world.

And other times – and this one is the most daunting –  it comes with a vague dissatisfaction. You may tell yourself “I have everything, I have a great job, I have money, I have a relationship, but still there is something missing from my life”.

During the transit of the North Node in Leo, you will be thought how to embrace the longing of your heart and how to activate your evolutionary purpose from that place of truth.

You are now given the chance to identify the part you are meant to play (North Node in Leo) in the larger context of reality (South Node in Aquarius) so that your gifts and talents can be actualized to their fullest potential.

“Evolution is calling you to participate in creating a world equal to your potential”

The only way to come “home” is to (re)discovering the true nature of yourself. For this, you need to detach yourself from the global (TV, imposed cultural models, internet, social media) and focus on our own creative genius.

Your unique talents, your individual aspirations, our dreams ARE important. The North Node in Leo is an invitation to straighten your crown and stop worrying about what other people think.

Follow your heart’s longing with courage even if this goes against the approval of your friends, community or society.

The South Node in Aquarius is the release point. In the process of embracing your heart’s longing, you may find you need to let go of some friendships. Remember, real friends want the best for you, want you to express yourself, to be you. Resist the temptation to go back to the old ways if some “friends” find your new ways unacceptable. Let them go if they threaten to leave. See who stays. These are your real friends.

Of course, I am not encouraging you to be selfish, but is nothing selfish in allowing the real you to emerge. Be the sculptor of your life and allow the everlasting Universe express itself though you in your unique way.

“Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it” – Michelangelo

The world Needs you – and it is your duty to let yourself shine – this is ultimately the message of the North Node in Leo.

What does it mean for you

We will be all affected by the Nodal sift. Last time we had the Nodes in Leo/Aquarius was from September 1998 to April 2000. Go back to 1999, 1980, 1962, years when we had the Nodes in Leo/Aquarius to get a feeling about what to expect in the next 1 year and a half.

Also, if you have your Nodes on the Leo/Aquarius axis, you will be especially in focus because you will experience your Nodal Return. The nodes return to the same zodiacal signs once every 18,5 years. Therefore, if you are 19 years of age, 37, 56, 75 and so on you  will experience a “karmic reset” to balance your inner polarity and bring you “back on track” in case you’ve lost your compass.

Look in which houses you have Leo and Aquarius in your chart for more details. For example, if you have the North Node in Leo in the 1st house and the South Node in Aquarius in the 7th house, you need to let the others hear you roar, and no longer depend on group approval.

If you have the North Node in Leo in the 2nd house and the South Node in Aquarius in the 8th house, during this transit you need to start treating yourself like a queen or king, become more generous with money, and pay more attention to your own value system as opposed to other people’s value systems. And so on…

Also, if you have personal planets in Leo/Aquarius the Nodes will bring into awareness that area of your life symbolized by the respective planet or angle.

New Moon in Aquarius – Living Wise and Wild and Free

The New Moon in Aquarius occurs – depending where you live – on the 27th or 28th of January,  at 8° Aquarius. The New Moon in Aquarius is unaspected, making it very potent and free willed.

The Sabian symbol of the New Moon in Aquarius is “A flag is seen turning into an eagle” asking us to “act out” our vision. And indeed, the ruler of the New Moon – Uranus – still in a tense opposition to Jupiter in Libra, will not shy away from a confrontation, if this is what it takes to raise awareness about what he cares most: higher knowledge and perspective, idealism and freedom.

aquarius-new-moon

Put it simple, Jupiter/ Uranus infused in the unaspected New Moon energy will make us want to break free once and for all!

Moreover, right now all planets (including the North Node!) are direct, inviting us to act and take advantage of every opportunity that comes along.

Immediately after the New Moon, Mars enters its domicile Aries which is the same sign Uranus currently resides in, giving us the extra energy boost we need to bring the Uranian agenda forward. This first New Moon of 2017 sets the tone for the turbo charged rest of the year.

The Chinese New Year starts as well on the 28th of January (The first day of the Chinese New Year always falls on the new moon between 21 January and 20 February). 2017 is the Year of the Fire Rooster. Roosters are a symbol of freshness and new beginnings. The rooster crows every morning to announce the Sun’s daily rise – in the past the rooster was the farmers’ wake up call. We see the themes of fresh perspectives, breakthroughs and progress coming over and over again, with every symbol.

The essence of Aquarian / Uranian energy is purely expressed during the New Moon. Every sign has one chance every year to tell the world what that sign stands for. Aquarius energy longs for the freedom to simply be and express itself as it is (Uranus rules lightings and thunders BTW). Aquarius represents the insatiable thirst for discovery, and rejection of the obsolete. It is not about the novelty for the sake of novelty, or about being different just to go against the grain, but about the freedom to be an individual. Aquarius is a human sign which represents the higher knowledge that is expressed and shared with the others.

Mercury is close to a conjunction to Pluto at the time of the New Moon. If you remember back in December (more exactly on the 19th of December) Mercury turned retrograde at the exact same degree. So it is at the time of the New Moon that Mercury finally leaves the “shadow” retrograde zone, getting ready for a confrontation with mighty Pluto.

Mercury has been dancing around Pluto for a while now, getting close to him, but not quite there, as if it had something to hide. But this time no more fooling around. If you have angles or planets around 15-17° in Capricorn (or Cancer, Libra, Aries) something quite shocking will be revealed to you. Alternatively you will finally speak out the truth on a matter that has been bothering you for a while.

Another transit occurring during the New Moon in Aquarius is an aftermath of Venus square Saturn (the transit is exact few hours before the New Moon).  The Venus Saturn transit becomes even more relevant because the Moon and the Sun (which are of curse in a conjunction) are close to the midpoint between Venus / Chiron in Pisces and Saturn in Sagittarius. The New Moon in Aquarius becomes the bridge that materializes our vision (Saturn in Sagittarius) and brings it, like a mantra, to the world, to heal our hearts and connect us with the Spirit (Venus, Chiron and Neptune in Pisces).

Venus in Aquarius – In Love There Are No Rules

Venus enters Aquarius on the 7th of December.

After she learned how to reach the highest achievements possible playing by the rules, Venus now makes a step forward. In Aquarius, Venus is teaching us about those things money can’t buy, about those things the status doesn’t make any difference to.

In Aquarius, Venus wants to break free from the same beliefs and habits that made her successful.  That’s because she now knows that there is something bigger to life than fitting in, paying the bills, or wearing expensive clothes.

Going around the same way we’ve been before is comfortable and safe. But if we choose the path we’ve never been is so much more rewarding, and in a sense, the only way to be.

venus-aquarius

A society is defined by its rules, and so are we. The decisions we make, the way we define beauty, our likes and dislikes, are very much defined by the norms of the society we live in, not by ourselves.

But there will always come a time when we will want something different, when we will want to make a step forward  to awaken to the next level of existence.

And this is what Venus in Aquarius is about. Venus in Aquarius wants to break free from the norm so that she can re-create the norm. Aquarius and Pisces, the last two signs of the Zodiac, represent the playing field of the Universe who always recreates itself.

Venus rules our values, what we like or dislike. In Aquarius, Venus will therefore like anything that is different, and will dislike anything that conforms to the norm.

In Aquarius, Venus become idealistic and wants to save the world. Venus in Aquarius represents the awakened consciousness put into the service of humanity.

Unusual relationships are another trademark of Venus in Aquarius. She will invite us to find our own path in love and with relationships. We won’t fall for the ordinary, but for the rebel, for the unique, for the misfit.

Venus in Aquarius is a bit more distant and unapproachable but that’s because now she cares about the big, meaningful things in life, and does not have any energy left to bother with the everyday mundane things.

During Venus’s stay in Aquarius (7th of December -2nd of January) we are developing the skills of detachment and objectivity. We need to learn how to detach from the norms around us, so that we don’t get swept into just doing the same old things we are expected to do, which will keep us away from knowing who we really are.

We will now make decisions that can surprise those around us. We might decide to go and date (or marry!) someone our parents or friends don’t like, or we might suddenly (yes, Uranus rules Aquarius)  decide to change our career or just do something completely different.

During this transit our heart will long for the freedom to be ourselves. It is not necessarily about being different for the sake of being different, but about being an individual. Being true to ourselves means never having to pretend we are someone we are not, feeling something we don’t. We will now learn to cherish our uniqueness as the amazing human beings we are.

Mars In Aquarius – It’s Time For A Revolution

Mars entered Aquarius on the 8th of November and it will stay here until 19th of December.

This is a very important transit, because Mars is in mutual reception with Uranus in Aries. Being in mutual reception, Mars and Uranus will strengthen each other and take on each other’s attributes.

So Mars will become ‘Uranus in Aries’-like, revolutionary, rebellious and much more action-oriented the fixed Aquarius Mars usually is. This time, Mars will take a serious stand against the status quo.

mars-in-aquarius

Change must happen if we want to be free and live in the Truth, and Mars in Aquarius is willing to take the actions to make all the necessary changes happen.

Those of you with a natal Mars in Aquarius will experience a “Mars return”.

Mars return happens when the transit Mars reaches the same degree as its natal position. Planetary returns mark the beginning of another cycle of a particular planet’s continued development in our psyche – in the case of Mars –  our assertion, will, what motivates and energizes us, our borders with the outside world.

And for the people with Sun in Aquarius – the Aquarians – , the Mars transit over your Sun can activate a project you started at the time you had the Mars return.

Let’s take an example: if you are born on the 22nd January 1980, on the 10th of November 2016 Mars will transit your natal Sun (at 2° in Aquarius). If you look at your natal chart you will notice you have Mars at 15° in Virgo. The next step is to check when you had the last Mars return. If you look at the ephemeris, last time we had Mars transiting Virgo at 15° was around 20 October 2015. Think about what you have been doing back then – that project can finally move forward now.

For all of us, irrespective of our Mars or Sun placements, the transit of Mars in Aquarius can manifest in two main ways:

  • If you feel stuck, unappreciated or simply bored in one or more areas of your life, this transit will give you that push to break free from the chains of the society and express your uniqueness. During the next 1 month and a half you will want to do something different, and distinguish yourself from your group – school, workplace or any type of community. Now is the time to challenge group thinking and stand out for YOUR truth. If you no longer connect yourself with the direction of the group you are part of, you have the celestial green light  to do something about it.
  • On a contrary, if you’ve been too much “me” focused in the last 2 years, the transit will remind you about the power of collective wisdom. Being part of something greater than yourself, belonging to like-minded groups and communities, can your individual potential leverage to a greater extent. That group, that community, this world needs you and would not be the same without you.

Mars in Aquarius transit key words: collective consciousness, putting hopes and ideals into action, adrenaline, intra and inter group collaboration, technology breakthroughs, bringing innovation  to market, free thinking and unique expression, mass communication, revolution.
