Message In A Bottle – Trusting The Universe Works In Your Favor
Once upon a time, before the internet, before television, before cars and the postal service, people used completely different ways of communicating with each other.
Imagine someone, back in the day, really wanted to send a message, to reach out to the world. What would they do? They would put a message in a bottle and surrender it to the great ocean.
Bottles in the ocean are a symbol for miracles. When nothing else works, when you’ve tried all other avenues, the ocean is the last option. The bottle can take your message very far, but not necessarily where you expect it to.
The currents can drift the bottle in any direction. You have no control. You don’t know the destination. You have to trust that the ocean will drift the bottle to the ‘right’ shore. When there’s no hope left, you have to trust that the universe works in your favor.
People surrender to the unknown as the last resort, when they have lost all hope. In reality, we don’t have to wait that long. You can surrender to the ocean anytime. Your message will reach the right destination, but you have to be willing not to know the destination.
A message in a bottle is you asking God – or the Universe – for directions. All you have to do is ask. Without expectations, without trying to ‘guess’ the answer.
New Moon In Sagittarius – Jupiter, Neptune, Intuition And Psychic Messages
On December 7th, 2018 we have a New Moon at 15° Sagittarius. The New Moon is square Mars and Neptune, which form a conjunction in Pisces.
A square is a dynamic aspect. It pushes us to take action. But what kind of action?
We have two energies at play – Sagittarius and Pisces. Sagittarius is the sign of expanding one’s horizons. Sagittarius is also connected with intuition and higher knowledge.
When you intuitively know who to trust and who not, whether or not you should take the job, that’s because Sagittarius (and the ruling planet, Jupiter) has connected the dots for you.
Jupiter’s knowledge is based on experience. What we call intuition is our capacity to connect large amounts of information and find meaning and trends.
Pisces has many things in common with Sagittarius. Both Pisces and Sagittarius are mutable signs, and both Pisces and Sagittarius are ruled by Jupiter (Jupiter is the main ruler of Sagittarius and the traditional ruler of Pisces). Both Pisces and Sagittarius are connected with faith, hope, and spirituality.
Pisces is also ruled by Neptune, the planet of the ocean, the soul, the unconscious and psychic connections. Neptune is the medium that connects us with other realms of existence.
If Sagittarius and Jupiter are connected with higher knowledge and intuition, Pisces and Neptune are connected with the unconscious and with psychic connections.
Many times we confuse the two. We believe we received a psychic message when in fact it was our intuition playing out, or the other way around, we receive messages from other realms and believe it’s our intuition.
When we ‘feel’ our partner is sad, that’s intuition, when we suddenly get a message that our partner is sad, even when they are far away, that’s a psychic message.
The New Moon in Sagittarius is exactly about these two archetypes: knowledge based on intuition and experience (Sagittarius) and knowledge based on communicating with higher realms (Pisces).
Your intuition (New Moon in Sagittarius) will be challenged – by Mars and Neptune in Pisces – to open up to other types of messages. Pay attention to unusual signs, to omens, to dreams. They will give you very important clues about what to do.
If you feel ‘you’re right’ about something or someone, but you get a different message from an unusual source, don’t dismiss this message. That’s Mars and Neptune in Pisces pushing you to take a different route.
Mercury just turned direct. When Mercury changes course, something you overlooked will suddenly emerge and change everything. Because Mercury direct coincides with the New Moon in Sagittarius and with the Mars-Neptune conjunction in Pisces, incredible breakthroughs are possible now.
If you feel you’ve reached a plateau in knowledge and experience, open to the higher portals of your being. Delve within the Spiritual world. Send a message in a bottle. Let the ocean take your message to unknown destinations.
Jupiter – Growth, Abundance, Good Luck And Fortune
If you feel your life is lacking meaning and purpose, Jupiter in Sagittarius is the transit you were waiting for.
Jupiter’s ingress into Sagittarius on November 8th, 2018 is indeed one of the best news of the year. This is because Jupiter is the ruling sign of Sagittarius, so he feels ‘at home’ in this sign.
And when the King of Gods feels good, we all feel good. Jupiter is the planet of faith, optimism, belief, abundance, luck, and generosity. Also called “the great benefic”, Jupiter is the most auspicious planet in astrology.
Jupiter is by far the largest planet in our solar system so it makes sense it’s all about growth and abundance. With Jupiter on your side, anything is possible. Really!
It is not that good luck and fortune fall from the sky but Jupiter that helps you see opportunities you would otherwise not see.
Jupiter doesn’t bring luck per se, what Jupiter does is make you believe that anything is possible. And when you believe anything is possible you have much better chances to ‘get lucky’. Luck is our positive attitude that keeps us open to new opportunities or sees patterns in apparent random acts of chance. Don’t believe me? It’s proven by science, too.
Jupiter is linked to religion because Jupiter seeks a higher order. Monotheistic religions are especially connected to Jupiter because their underlying assumption is that there is one overall law that governs everything. In Mythology, Jupiter or Zeus was the king of all gods.
Jupiter represents the principle of growth and expansion. He’s a giant gas bubble after all – the largest planet of our solar system.
Jupiter – The Big Picture
Jupiter is the opposite of Mercury. While Jupiter is at home in Sagittarius and Mercury is at home in Gemini, conversely, Jupiter doesn’t feel that good in Gemini, and Mercury doesn’t feel that good in Sagittarius.
In astrological terms, we say Mercury is in detriment in Sagittarius, and Jupiter is in detriment in Gemini. The reason for this is because Mercury and Jupiter have completely different approaches.
Mercury is associated with the lower, rational mind and Jupiter is associated with the higher, spiritual mind. Mercury is the ‘show me the data’ planet – and only believes in what it can see.
Jupiter believes in something that cannot be seen – the unseen laws the govern life. Mercury is about the details, Jupiter is about the big picture.
Let’s take another example. Mercury rules short trips. Trips to work, to the supermarket or to your parent’s house. Mercury trips are the trips you take in your everyday life.
Jupiter, however, rules long journeys, journeys to another state or another country, journeys that enlarge your perspective.
A Different Outlook On Life
If Mercury trips are about operating in your world and getting things done, Jupiter trips are about expanding your world so you get a higher perspective and a different outlook.
These journeys – literal journey or journeys with the mind – are about learning something that you otherwise wouldn’t have known.
People who live abroad for one year or more report that their outlook on life has completely changed. Living abroad is much more than being on a different geographical location.
We learn to adapt to a different value system, to different customs, we are subject to different laws. It is something about being exposed to a different world that completely changes the way we relate to our everyday reality.
Upon experiencing Jupiter, you are not the same person you were yesterday.
Mercury and Gemini rule primary education when we learn how to read, write, compute and operate into the world.
Learning a new skill – for example learning how to use Excel or learning how to use a mobile app – it’s also Mercury because learning is concerned with a distinct skill that leads to a specific outcome.
On the other hand, Jupiter rules higher education, theoretical education, when we put different concepts together and we reach a higher understanding.
2019 – A Year For Jupiter
If Jupiter is the “12 rules of life”, Mercury is how we actually make use of these rules in our everyday life.
We need both Mercury and Jupiter in our lives. When Mercury transits its favorite sings (Gemini and Virgo) we get the best of Mercury. This happens for a few weeks and sometimes up to two months every year.
But it is something truly special when we have Jupiter in Sagittarius. This happens only 1 year in 12 so the upcoming year is THE time to get the best out of Jupiter. This is your time to focus on Jupiter, to embody Jupiter, to make the best out of Jupiter.
2019 is the year to focus on the big picture. To set high goals. To go for higher education. To take a spiritual path. To become a teacher. To find a teacher. To travel. To go for new experiences. To go on a vision quest.
Sagittarius – The Place To Be For Jupiter
Now let’s take a look at Sagittarius, to understand why Jupiter feels so good in this sign.
Sagittarius is a fire, mutable sign.
Gemini, Virgo, Pisces, and Sagittarius are mutable signs, meaning they have the ability to change from one state of being to another. Sagittarius seizes opportunities before they arise and completes things before they become obsolete.
Sagittarius is a fire sign. Fire in astrology is associated with our spiritual body (earth is associated with our physical body, air with our mental body, and water with our emotional body). So fire = spirit. That’s why fire signs act on instinct and have a developed intuition. They have a direct connection with their spiritual body.
We have three fire signs, Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. If Aries is the spark of life, if Leo is the fire of creation, Sagittarius is the eternal flame – the ongoing mystery of life that keeps the spirit not only alive, but growing and evolving.
To recap: Jupiter is growth, opportunities, the big picture, beliefs, faith, commitment to a cause. Sagittarius is the ever changing, ever evolving flame of spirit.
Jupiter in Sagittarius is the fire that grows, expands, and changes shape. It’s not a literal fire. Is the spiritual fire of transmutation which purifies us. It is the spiritual fire of love and truth.
In the upcoming year, we will seek to find a higher, spiritual meaning to our existence.
Jupiter In Sagittarius Key Dates
Jupiter enters Sagittarius on November 8th, 2018 and leaves Sagittarius on December 2nd, 2019. When in its own sign, Jupiter stays a bit longer (13 months) than it does in other signs.
Every year, Jupiter is retrograde for about 4 months or ⅓ of the time. Jupiter goes retrograde on April 11, 2019, at 24° Sagittarius and goes direct on August 12, 2019, at 14° Sagittarius.
If you have planets within 14°-24° Sagittarius you will feel this transit more intensely, because Jupiter will cross over these planets or angles three times (instead of only once).
The most important transit Jupiter makes while in Sagittarius is a square to Neptune in Pisces. Apart from this square, Jupiter doesn’t make notable transits with any other planets.
These are the dates for the three Jupiter-Neptune squares:
January 13, 2019, at 14° Sagittarius / Pisces; Jupiter and Neptune are both direct
June 15, 2019, at 18° Sagittarius / Pisces; Jupiter is retrograde and Neptune is stationary retrograde
September 21, 2019, at 17° Sagittarius / Pisces; Jupiter is direct and Neptune is retrograde
Jupiter comes back in the same sign every 12 years, so if you are 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84 and so on you have your Jupiter return. And that’s great news – Jupiter return is one of the most sought-after transits because it always comes with opportunities.
Sometimes, the opportunities are not so obvious. If you’ve been drifting on a path that is not aligned with your spiritual purpose, Jupiter will correct that. But in hindsight, Jupiter returns are always beneficial.
Previous times Jupiter was in Sagittarius were November 2006 – December 2007; December 1994 – January 1996; December 1982 – January 1984. What was going on in your life back then?
Jupiter In Sagittarius – Believe
Jupiter in Sagittarius is all about believing. Why believing becomes so much more important when Jupiter is at home, in Sagittarius?
To believe means to accept that is something is true, especially without proof.
It’s easy to believe when things go as planned. When you have proofs. It’s easy to believe when you see signs everywhere that you’re doing the right thing, when the Universe says YES, when, every step you take, you find evidence that you are on the right path.
But that’s the trick. Even skeptic Saturn ‘believes’ when there is evidence. But belief and faith are not about believing when there is actual evidence to prove your belief.
Belief is when you accept something as true wholeheartedly. Belief is the absence of doubt. You believe in your mission even when there is no evidence you are on the right track – when there is no proof of success. When you lack evidence, when you lack proof – this is, in fact, THE most important time when you need to keep the faith.
Is your commitment strong enough? Are your beliefs true? If the answer is no, you may want to question your beliefs, or even better, your commitment to your beliefs.
Believe It Anyway
You want to find a job but no employer calls you? You believe you will eventually get a job anyway. Doesn’t matter if you actually see any evidence. You keep on believing.
What about if you want to have children but you’re single for like 7 years? All you need to do is keep on believing that you will eventually have a family.
You want to earn 50K this year, it’s November and you’ve only made about half? You believe you will reach your goal anyway.
It is your commitment to your belief that will help you stick to your vision, no matter what. It’s your commitment that will help you seize the opportunity when it will eventually arise.
Now I’m not suggesting you should always embrace this attitude. We all have Saturn in our chart (and Saturn likes to work hard and to be ‘realistic’). We all have Pluto in our chart (and Pluto shows us that no matter how much we want something, there are things we can never get).
But Jupiter is about believing. And Jupiter is now in Sagittarius, working at its best, shooting the best arrows. Jupiter in Sagittarius will teach you how to BELIEVE. Jupiter will show you how to stick to your vision, no matter what.
Belief Vs. Hope
Now, there is a difference between belief and hope. When you hope that something will happen, you are not taking action, you’re not taking full responsibility for the outcome.
Belief is a certainty. You ‘know’ that something will happen, you know you will be able to see the signs and recognize the patterns. Belief is an inner knowing that you will just ‘know’ what to do when the window of opportunity will open.
When you believe, you take full responsibility for the outcome. You co-create with the universe. You become Jupiter, the Almighty. Believing means commitment. Belief cannot exist without a 100% commitment.
Jupiter In Sagittarius Square Neptune In Pisces
However, during his transit in Sagittarius, Jupiter will square Neptune. And with Neptune in Pisces, we have to be careful of false beliefs, or wishful thinking. Wishful thinking is ‘hoping’ that something good will happen. With Neptune, it’s easy to drift into a ‘no action’ state where imagination becomes more important than reality.
Neptune is also the planet of higher love and transcendence.
Although the Jupiter-Neptune square can lead to a spiritual crisis, the square will also help you arrive at better terms with what belief, faith, and spirituality really mean to you.
Neptune will firstly ‘dissolve’ your beliefs so you can find a higher meaning, a higher order, a higher purpose for your life.
Do you pray when you need something, or do you pray to express your love and admiration?
Do you believe in something because it puts your soul on fire, or because it’s part of your tradition? Because this is how it has always been?
Jupiter in Sagittarius square Neptune will challenge all the beliefs that are egotistical, dogmatic and outdated. In the coming year, you can find better beliefs, ones that reflect the truth of who you are, or you can find better reasons to believe in what you already believe.
Our goal as a collective is to replace blind faith (the negative manifestation of Jupiter in Sagittarius square Neptune) with faith on purpose (the higher manifestation of Jupiter in Sagittarius square Neptune).
Jupiter is Sagittarius will strip us of false dogma so that we can find out what truly matters.
Jupiter in Sagittarius is your call to say YES to the Belief Train. To commit to your goals. To go on a vision quest. To find a higher meaning to your existence. To believe in what matters.
How do you make the best out of Jupiter In Sagittarius?
The Full Moon in Sagittarius takes place on May 29th 2018 at 8° Sagittarius
The Full Moon in Sagittarius is one of the most auspicious Full Moons of the year. If Uranus’ move into Taurus has left you shattered, the Full Moon in Sagittarius will restore your faith.
Jupiter, the ruler of the Full Moon, forms a beautiful water trine with Neptune in Pisces and Venus in Cancer. Water signs are the feelers of the zodiac – they find meaning in emotions, in psychic insights, in intuition.
Having both benefics – Jupiter and Venus – in a trine is just WONDERFUL. And Neptune will add a touch of magic to an already artistic and idealistic mood.
The Full Moon itself is not engaged in any strong aspect. Not that you need MORE change in your life now, right?
You know the scenario: something turns your life upside down. But after the storm is over, you can see the beautiful rainbow.
If the lunar cycle started in a dramatic fashion (the New Moon on May 15th literally coincided with Uranus’s epic ingress into Taurus), the Full Moon in Sagittarius will come to reveal the bigger picture. There is always a bigger picture.
“Everything happens for a reason” – you’ve probably heard this saying so many times that it has lost its meaning. For religious people, it is just another way of saying “It’s God’s will”. Science inclined people refer to it to describe the relationship between cause and effect. For spiritual people, the ‘reason’ has to do with learning important lessons about life.
The Full Moon in Sagittarius is exactly about finding that reason, about finding that meaning. Sagittarius is the truth seeker of the zodiac.
We have a natural tendency to reject randomness and chaos, and seek meaning and purpose. From the beginning of times, people searched for a meaning, for something to believe in.
From Aztec rituals, sacrifices and ceremonies, to divination tools, to religion, people tried to deal with uncertainties, to manage risk, and get an answer to their concerns.
The need to believe in something greater than oneself is deeply rooted inside each one of us. It is in our DNA.
Sagittarius is traditionally associated with teachers, gurus, traveling, higher studies, religion, philosophy – generally speaking, with everything we do to expand our horizons and find answers to the big questions of life.
And this pull to keep on seeking, to keep on exploring, comes from a deep need to find that ONE thing, that magic formula, that perfect theory that can explain everything.
Sagittarius deeply believes that behind personal experiences and relative truths there is one single truth. A theory of everything.
As a fire sign, this pursuit is deeply spiritual. As a mutable sign, Sagittarius relentlessly seeks for the truth everywhere.
There is a part of you which will never be satisfied with easy answers. That part of you will push you to keep on searching, to keep on looking for ultimate answers and definite truths.
That part of you will never settle. Trying to keep it quiet will not work. We are inherently programmed to experience the world, to grow and expand.
The Full Moon in Sagittarius is an opportunity to honor that part of you, to embrace the seeker of truth inside of you. To express gratitude for the wanderer who always wants to go to new places and who will always stretch you out of your comfort zone.
You may or may not find that ultimate truth, but this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t spend every single day of your life trying to get closer to it. Life is a journey – keep walking. Be comfortable with that part of you that feels uncomfortable and restless.
There will eventually come a time when you will realize you don’t have to keep on looking for the truth outside yourself. You will know when you have found it.
We shall not cease from exploration. And the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time. T. S.Eliot.
The teacher comes when the student is ready. When the student is truly ready, the teacher disappears.
To see which area of your life is most affected by this Full Moon look up where Sagittarius falls in your chart. That specific house will show you where you can find your truth. You will especially connect with the energy of the Full Moon in Sagittarius if you have planets or angles around 8° in Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.
The New Moon in Sagittarius takes place on 18th of December 2017 at 26° Sagittarius, exactly in the middle of the Galactic Center.
The Galactic Center is the center of our galaxy, Milky Way. If you do stargazing and are familiar with the Milky Way – look for the dark black crack right in the middle. This is the Galactic Center.
When we connect with the Galactic Center, we can experience sudden awakening, we can receive unfiltered information straight from the womb of the universe.
In fact, on the 18th of November we have a quadruple conjunction on the Galactic Center: Venus (at 21° Sagittarius), the Moon (26° Sagittarius), Sun (26° Sagittarius) and Saturn (29° Sagittarius) will all activate the center of the universe and will bring us a message.
The New Moon is also trine Uranus and square Chiron, the two bodies which connect us to the outer space – Uranus in astrology rules the sky, and Chiron orbits between Saturn (the last planet visible to the naked eye) and Uranus, the first outer planet.
The New Moon in Sagittarius will connect us to the ‘invisible sky’. If you look at the night sky on December 18th, you won’t see the Moon (when the Moon is New, is invisible), and you won’t see Venus and Saturn either, because they too are lost in the glare of the Sun. Everything happens behind the curtains. Indeed, the ruler of the New Moon, Jupiter, in now in Scorpio, the sign of the underworld.
On 18th of December, have a look at the night sky, and find that point where all stars seem to collide, in the middle of the Milky Way. Let the sky guide you. The Moon is nowhere to be seen, but something is happening there, behind the curtains.
The New Moon in Sagittarius represents the ‘grand finale’ of 2017 – not only because is the last New Moon of the year, but because is the last New Moon when Saturn is in Sagittarius.
The New Moon in Sagittarius has a very interesting twist. Usually at the time of the New Moon we plant the seed, and at the time of the Full Moon we reap the rewards. But because at the time of the New Moon, Saturn is still in Sagittarius, and by the time we have the Full Moon on January 1st 2018, Saturn is already in Capricorn – things can turn out very differently than we expected.
Saturn is highly potent at 29° Sagittarius, and he won’t leave Sagittarius unless it has found the ultimate truth. It will be a simple, distilled truth – the quintessence of truth. Saturn is nothing like Jupiter – so don’t expect something flamboyant and bombastic. Unlike Jupiter – which expands everything it touches – Saturn contracts everything it touches – to get to the core of what really matters.
In the last degrees of Sagittarius, the New Moon will mark both a closure and a new beginning.
Because Saturn switches signs in the middle of the lunation cycle, the ending you will experience at the time of the New Moon will not be quite an ending. Somewhere, in the middle of the cycle, things will get a new twist. An overlooked element will surface. The ‘ending’ will be nothing but a new beginning, under new conditions.
But let’s go back to the essence of this New Moon in Sagittarius. Sagittarius is about the pursuit of the universal truth. Not the individual truth we find in Gemini, when we experience the world through our senses – the Sagittarian truth is to be found beyond ourselves.
To find it, we must adventure into the unknown. We need to search, and explore until we find that one underlying truth that applies to all.
The New Moon in Sagittarius is about the universal truth – the truth that is invisible to the eyes. The irony about the greatest truths in life is that they are so obvious, that we fail to see them.
What truth does the New Moon in Sagittarius stand for? Venus and Saturn, the two planets involved in the lunation, will point to the answer.
The Little Prince, one of the most famous stories in the world, translated in over 180 languages, is a beautiful metaphor for this lunation.
The story concludes with the encounter between the Little Prince and the Fox. The conversation between the two reveals profound truths about love and relationships.
The Fox tries to explain to the Little Prince what does it mean to be ‘tamed’.
“To me, you are still nothing more than a little boy who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys. And I have no need of you. And you, on your part, have no need of me. To you, I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world. (…) If you tame me, it will be as if the sun came to shine on my life. I shall know the sound of a footstep that will be different from all the others. Other people’s footsteps send me hurrying back underneath the ground. Yours will call me, like music, out of my burrow.“
When the Little Prince asks the Fox how can he tame him, the Fox replies:
“You must be very patient. First you will sit down at a little distance from me. I shall look at you out of the corner of my eye, and you will say nothing. But you will sit a little closer to me, every day. It would be better to come back at the same hour. If, for example, you come at four o’clock in the afternoon, then at three o’clock I shall begin to be happy. I shall feel happier and happier as the hour advances. At four o’clock, I shall already be worrying and jumping about. I shall show you how happy I am! But if you come at just any time, I shall never know at what hour my heart is to be ready to greet you”
The Little Prince tames the Fox and they become friends. But when the time to depart comes, the Fox starts to cry. The Fox will of course, miss the Little Prince. When the Little Prince, hurt, says he should have never tamed him in the first place, the Fox concludes with a very profound statement:
“It has done me good. I was happy. Here is my secret. A very simple secret. It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.”
From the womb of the Universe, the New Moon speaks about the greatest secret of all times. It is only with the heart that one can see rightly.
The sabian symbol of this New Moon is “A sculptor at his work”. Art, just like love, requires vision and persistence. The sabian symbol of the New Moon speaks about the power to create something beautiful (Venus) through patient trials and errors (Saturn).
The New Moon is the culmination of Saturn’s stay in Sagittarius – this is the perfect time to create the vision for your greatest masterpiece. When Saturn will move into Capricorn, you will have time to materialize it. But now, just like a sculptor, you need to have a vision for what you are going to create.
Are you getting ready for 2018? In the next 3 years, Saturn is going to be your greatest ally, giving you the determination and patience to create your greatest masterpiece.
Right now, you are on the edge of something big, something that could change your life forever. Use this New Moon to set your vision. In the dark of the night, look for the glow of the Milky Way.
The Full Moon in Gemini takes place on December 3rd, the same day that Mercury goes retrograde. This Full Moon is also a Supermoon, which means its energy is going to be amplified.
The Moon is most powerful when at Full Moon, when her light outshines the light of the Sun and our emotions are stronger than our Solar consciousness. Just look at the Full Moon. The Full Moon is honest, the Full Moon reveals herself entirely. When full, the Moon wants to expose everything, to show things as they really are.
The Full Moon on the 3rd of December is in Gemini, and will be all about illuminating the truth.
But if you want to find it, get ready to get your mind blown.
The Full Moon is in an exact square to Neptune, forming a mutable T-square – we have the Moon (in Gemini), Sun (in Sagittarius), and Neptune (in Pisces). Facts (air, Gemini) come into conflict with our faith (fire, Sagittarius) and our emotions (water, Pisces).
In this symphony where the mind, the spirit and the feelings – all want to get their voice heard, it is worth noticing what keeps them together – that is, the mutable energy. Gemini, Sagittarius and Pisces are all mutable signs. The only constant is change.
Jazz is the only type of music characterized by spontaneity and improvisation. Jazz payers go on stage often without knowing what they are going to play. They have one thing in common: the willingness to listen and to adapt to what other members are playing, the ability to improvise, and as a result, they create something that is greater than the sum of its parts. Jazz music in very Neptunian and Gemini-like in nature.
To tune into the Full Moon in Gemini you have to be a bit like a jazz player.
To say Neptune will make this Full Moon interesting is an understatement. Neptune is the abstract understanding of life. Where the mind fails to understand abstract concepts such as time, space, infinity, Neptune has the answers. But Neptune’s answers are not clear definitions, cook book recipes.
“Lady, if I told you, your mind would explode.” — Louis Armstrong, when a woman asked him what he thought about when he played
Neptune got the bad rap of planet of confusion and lies. But how many of Neptune’s lies are really lies? And how many are truths in disguise, truths we don’t want to accept because we don’t understand, and out of comfort, we label them as lies? Neptune is about going beyond the here and how, and beyond form and spirit.
The Neptune square to the Full Moon can make you doubt your own sanity, but if you push through, you can go through to the other side. You can finally understand things you were never able to understand before.
Let’s not forget that the Full Moon is in Gemini, the sign of the mind.
Gemini is all about observable facts. Gemini’s superpower is its ability to pay attention to what is going on and discover the world though immediate experience.
Remember when you were a child and you were curious about everything? Children learn how to speak, how to learn, how to relate to the world through trial and error. So does Gemini, and even when we grow up, our innate curiosity to explore and make sense of the world is what keeps us sane.
Sagittarius, on the other hand, believes without seeking evidence. Sagittarius is the sign of faith. If Gemini is Google, Sagittarius is Wikipedia. If Gemini is one detail at a time, Sagittarius is the big picture.
Sagittarius is the cook book recipe. It’s the news on television. Is the books you read, the ‘truths’ you don’t question.
The full Moon on the Gemini / Sagittarius axis is a quest for the truth. Do you explore the world in your terms (Gemini) and risk to have a one-side vision, or do you follow the tested path, with the risk that the path you walk is someone’s else (Sagittarius)? The Full Moon, which is an opposition, will strike to find a balance. As a result, you can have an epiphany.
You can have a sudden and striking realization, something you completely overlooked can finally come to place to give you an unblurred vision. Mercury, the ruler of the Full Moon, stands still in the sky in that very moment, preparing to turn retrograde.
When Mercury changes course its energy is the most powerful. Mercury turns retrograde in the last degree of Sagittarius.
Sagittarius stands for the big picture, for the truth…or more exactly, what you believe to be the truth.
Retrogrades are about going back in time, to review and process events and dynamics that have not been fully processed. What knowledge have you taken for granted?
Mercury will walk the sky path from 30° Sagittarius back to 13° Sagittarius twice – firstly in retrograde from December 3rd until December 22nd to ‘fix the problems’. The 2nd time Mercury (now direct) will walk the path will be from December 22nd until January 10th.
Mercury goes retrograde exactly at the time of the Full Moon, just when he was about to complete his journey in Sagittarius.
Mercury in Sagittarius is about the big picture – Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius will ask you to de-construct the big picture and look at each individual piece of the puzzle. How do you arrive to conclusions? How does your mind really work?
Most of the time, our decisions are emotional, reptilian, and the mind just comes with a narrative to justify what our reptilian brain has already chosen.
Mercury will press the rewind button in the last degree of Sagittarius. “Wait a minute…just when I thought I got this right, just when I thought I am done with the Sagittarian lessons, there is still something that I don’t quite get”.
Right at the end of Sagittarius, Mercury is also conjunct Saturn, which is about to leave Sagittarius in the coming days. Before Saturn leaves Sagittarius for good, he passes the torch to Mercury and says: “Go back. See if you did not miss anything. But this time, take it slowly, be diligent and cautious just like I am. Don’t let anything escape your sight”.
Mercury is in detriment in Sagittarius. The path he is asked to explore is awkward and unfamiliar. Not only that, but he has to walk it backwards. Not an easy task, but he has no choice. He needs to clear the path and sort things out.
This is not the path of knowledge as we know it. Mercury’s backwards journey in Sagittarius will expose a basic truth: you cannot ‘download’ knowledge, you cannot copy paste it, you cannot take it from someone else. You have to walk the path yourself.
Just imagine what would have happened if Adam and Eve hadn’t been tempted to eat off the tree of knowledge, hadn’t been seduced into taking a shortcut.
Today, in the era of instant gratification of knowledge, the message of the Full Moon in Gemini with Mercury retrograde conjunct Saturn couldn’t be more actual: Take your time, do the research – you only get to knowledge through real experience, by walking the path yourself. There is no such thing as universal truth, you have to find your own.
The path of true knowledge combines Gemini’s quest for discovery with a beginner’s mind, with Sagittarius’ faith that we already have all the answers we need, and that the Universe has our back.
The coming weeks are a time to (re)discover the truth, beyond any stereotypical ideas and outdated beliefs, a truth that shines so bright that cannot be dimmed.
The Full Moon in Sagittarius on June 9th will get us in touch with the truth of our nature: divine and glorious, and in the same time messy and limited. The Full Moon takes place at 19° Sagittarius and is conjunct Saturn, The Great Teacher.
What makes this Full Moon truly special is that Jupiter, the Full Moon ruler, turns direct literally one hour after the Full Moon. Jupiter is now in Libra, the sign of “the other” – if you’ve been struggling in your relationships, Jupiter direct is good news.
The Full Moon in Sagittarius brings a mixture of adventure and discipline. While Jupiter is all about expansion and new opportunities, Saturn warns us to take it easy and be responsible for our decisions. As a result, we are asked to ponder how far we want to go vs. how far we can go. The message? You can do what you want, as long as you play by the rules. You have all the freedom, within the framework of accepted social responsibilities.
Let’s get back to what Sagittarius stands for. Sagittarius is our inner guru, our inner prophet, our inner pilgrim, ready to explore the many unfamiliar territories of the world and of the self, in search for the Truth. Look how Sagittarius is depicted, armed with a bow, focused intently on the direction in which his arrow is headed. The bow, full drawn and ready to let fly, symbolizes the divine power embodying the tension of spiritual force.
The Full Moon in Sagittarius will give us a potion of the Truth, a potion with magic herbs and bitter medicine.
And what is this truth about? Jupiter stations direct in Libra , the sign of one-on-one partnerships. We can only discover who we are through the Other, through the process of Projection. The other becomes a mirror of our inner self, especially of the unconscious side of our inner self.
Do you like what you see? Are you ready to make friends with the man in the mirror? What about your relationships? Which relationships honor the truth of who you are? Which relationships help you grow and which one drag you backwards? Which people do you trust?
“Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
And nothing else matters”
Metallica – Nothing else matters
The Full Moon in Sagittarius will ask us to accept our human limitations and love our divine imperfections. The process can be awkward. Jupiter is applying to Neptune with an inconjunct, and in the process we might experience a crisis of faith. Thankfully Saturn will give us the clarity we need to discern from this communication which is of God and which is not. And Jupiter direct station means we WILL move forward, no matter what.
This is the last Full Moon in Sagittarius with Saturn in Sagittarius. The next series is in 28 years’ time. This is our last chance to integrate the message of the Great Teacher and move forward, with a renewed sense of optimism.
The sabian symbol of this Full Moon is “Pelicans menaced by the behavior and refuse of men seek safer areas for bringing up their youth”. The symbol stands for the process of transmutation. We are asked to take what is truly valuable, what is absolutely essential for our journey and with this move towards safer and brighter realms. We need to be very clear about who we are, as we won’t have too much time to ponder. But ultimately, this is a message of faith and optimism. The new place WILL be a better place for us.
The Full Moon in Sagittarius will affect all of us, and especially those of us with Sagittarius or Pisces ascendant, planets or angles around 19° in Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) or planets or angles around 13° in Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn).
Lilith in Sagittarius is the pure expression of the wild and free unleashed feminine spirit.
No matter your sexual orientation, Lilith is all about breaking free from whatever chains are holding you back.
Lilith, also known in astrology as Black Moon Lilith, was Adam’s first wife before Eve. The legend says that when she refused to be submissive during sex, she was cast out of Eden for upsetting the power dynamic.
In Astrology, Lilith rules the unleashed woman power, seduction, sexuality, orgasms, women’s rights, menstruation and feminine fluids, abortion and which craft (to an extent).
On a psychological level, Black Moon Lilith shows the hidden side of one’s personality. Lilith stands for our temptations, for what is “forbidden”.
Lilith in Sagittarius is fiercely independent, unconventional and idealist. The need for independence can go as far as a complete refusal of intimacy and of any sort of relationship bond. Lilith is Sagittarius NEEDS to be independent so she can exercise her feminine power.
Because Sagittarius rules religion and prophets, Lilith in Sagittarius is a symbol of the Feminine Goddess. Not the Feminine Goddess that is seductive and mysterious (like Lilith in Libra and Lilith in Scorpio are) but the Goddess who knows she is a Goddess and that she does not have to ask for it. Lilith in Sagittarius is a leader and a searcher for truth as the greatest ideal.
Lilith in Sagittarius Transit
When Lilith transits Sagittarius, you can expect:
Women’s movementwill become even stronger
Some false teachers, leaders, gurus, corrupt politicians will be unmasked during Lilith’s transit into Sagittarius. Sagittarius wants to be fair – people who fall to live in Truth and Integrity will have a hard time during this transit because Lilith will expose every dirty secret, every mascarade.
Lilith in Sagittarius will set all of us free! To get more insights into what to expect, check the area of your chart transited by Lilith.
Let’s get some real-life examples of what Lilith in Sagittarius stands for. We will analyze four celebrities with a tight Lilith in Sagittarius conjunct the Ascendant. Conjunctions to the Ascendant best carry the archetype of the particular energy of the planet.
Celebrities With Lilith in Sagittarius Conjunct the Ascendant:
Prince William has Lilith at 29° Sagittarius closely conjunct his ascendant at 27° Sagittarius. Prince William lost his mother Princess Diana at a very young age. This is an example of the negative manifestation of Lilith in Sagittarius. However, William is a good example of the positive, liberating nature of Lilith. William broke the royal protocol and married a ‘commoner’ (Kate, who also has Lilith in Sagittarius). William and Kate are now the role models of the “modern” royal family, having broken a numerous long-standing royal family rules, for example choosing to live in the countryside (and not in London), practicing hands-on parenting or sending their child Prince George to a local school.
Brigitte Lahaie is a radio host on a show on love and sexuality. Brigitte is a former porn actress. Her Lilith is at 13° closely conjunct to her rising at 16° Sagittarius. It is interesting that Brigitte is a big fan of horse riding (The symbolism of Lilith in Sagittarius goes even further).
Courtney Cox is another celebrity with a close Lilith Ascendant conjunction in Sagittarius. We all know Courtney from Friends and the Scream trilogy (horror movies are very Black Moon Lilith-like), but few things you might not know about her: She was the girl Bruce Springsteen got to dance next to him in the famous “Dancing in the dark” video clip. Also, Courtney appeared on a commercial for Tampax and became the first person to use the term “period” on TV. Talking about women liberation! Quite a lot of Lilith symbolism here 😉
Ronald Reagan, the 40th president of the US had Lilith at 29 °in Sagittarius in a tight conjunction with his Rising at 27° Sagittarius. Even if later in his career he declared himself “pro-life”, during his tenure as the Governor of California he signed into law the “Therapeutic Abortion Act“, aimed to reduce the number of backroom abortions performed in California. As a result, approximately one million abortions were performed.
The New Moon in Sagittarius on the 29th of November is an invitation to see life as an adventure, and trust that the universe will figure out how to manifest whatever our heart desires.
“When you come to the edge of all the light you have, and must take a step into the darkness of the unknown, believe that one of two things will happen to you: either there will be something solid for you to stand on, or you will be thought how to fly” – Patrick Overton
The New Moon is square Neptune, while the ruler of the New Moon, Jupiter is square Pluto. Squares create a lot of friction and things are likely to happen because there is so much energy that asks for expression.
Neptune and Pluto are transpersonal planets while Jupiter is the teacher and the Protector. The Universe is there to give us the push we need to step into the unknown.
The message is clear: the Universe wants us to take action, and for this will awaken the adventure seeker inside each one of us.
We won’t be forced to do anything we don’t want to do (unless we don’t know yet what we want). So the good news is that we are likely to very much enjoy the new possibilities that are opened up. In our heart we always wanted to take risks and live a life of fulfillment, but centuries on conditioning have thought us to focus on the possible negative consequences of setting our spirit free.
No more self doubt – the New Moon in Sagittarius is an invitation to take a leap of faith, and trust that the universe will take care of you.
Invite possibilities in your life – if you open your mind and you heart you start noticing at every corner the infinite possibilities that are out there in the big world. The New Moon in Sagittarius is the best time to tune into the potential that each new day brings for adventure and change.
Embrace the new – change a daily routine, your job, your residence. Anything is possible now – you have the faith, the hope and the courage to take the chances that come to you.
Move on, even if you don’t know yet where are you heading. We are never really aware of and we never really reach our full potential, but we can sense it, and try to reach towards it.
Things to do during the New Moon in Sagittarius:
Attend a place of worship, a meditation class, or read a spiritual book
Practice honesty – when you have a one-on-one conversation with someone, take the chance and speak directly from your heart. If there are no opportunities to have a close conversation with someone, visualize yourself being filled with the courage to stand for, and act upon your beliefs
Take a trip, go for an adventure, explore a new place
Start any ritual work that will draw abundance into your life – a money spell for example
Expand your knowledge – enroll to a new course, or start working with a mentor. This is the best time of the year (29-30 Nov) to find the right mentor for you
Although the temptation to go for the big picture is there stronger than ever, try to be aware of your tendency to take shortcuts and omit important details
Trust your inner Guide to lead you in the right direction. Have faith that a higher power is always there to protect you and loves you unconditionally. And take action on what your intuition says about what is the right path for you
Happy birthday to all the Saggies out there! – and although only 1/12 of us have the Sun in Sagittarius, we will all benefit from this transit, because the Sun will be activating the area of our chart where there’s room to grow.
With the Sun’s ingress into Sagittarius, we are entering a period of optimism, brightness, expansion and faith.
Sun in Sagittarius is an invitation to embrace our passions and aim higher, to choose freedom over “hanging on,” and follow our heart wherever it wants to take us.
There’s an explorer inside us all. Whether or not we go on physical or mental explorations, the freedom to experiment and see THE POSSIBILITY and potential everywhere is there, in each one of us, waiting to be unleashed.
Sun in Sagittarius is here to teach us that we can only learn from experience, and to go out into the wild, we have to “dare to” make unpredictability our friend.
Like the archer, we have to aim and let go. We are now discovering that when we trust our instinct, in that moment of divine focus when we connect with the fire within, we usually get it right.
In the following weeks, you have the celestial green light to go for all kind of new experiences without worrying to much (Jupiter, which rules Sagittarius, is the ‘Great Benefic’, so you are in good hands) – so just keep your eyes open and say “yes” to any unusual opportunities. Whether these are exotic lands or just the sight of the unfamiliar – your heart will leap at the possibilities that lay beyond your comfort zone.
Beware though, too much of the good thing can lead to denial of seeing risks or obstacles. Too much optimism and faith can be a double edged sword – there is a danger to get stuck in your head for what you believe in and fight tooth to nail to get everyone else see it too.
Opinions can run very strong! Just keep in mind that is when you’ve become certain of something, you’ve stopped being open to learning.
Deep inside, Sagittarius is a lover of Truth, and candor and honesty are his hallmarks. The transit is good for dealing with institutions of higher learning, publishing companies, law, sports and adventure.
Take advantage of the Sun in Sagittarius’ contagiously enthusiastic approach to life and use the following weeks to learn something new, sign up for a class, enroll in a club, do something in your community to help make a difference, spread positive energy, have fun and dream big.
Let’s welcome Mercury in Sagittarius! Freedom of thought, vision, leadership, optimism – this is what Mercury in Sagittarius stands for.
Not so keen on details, Mercury in Sagittarius prefers to focus on the big picture. He likes to have the freedom to think for himself, and to focus on the topics that he likes, especially if that is:
An opinion that is different than yours
Forget about political correctness during the next few weeks. Mercury in Sagittarius, with his restless intellect, has a hard time with rules, limits and he could not care less about what other people think (of course, those people who don’t share HIS opinions). He won’t have the patience to deal with other people’s opinions – especially if he has heard them many times before – as he see them as a waste of time. Life is too big and there is always so much to think about.
But Mercury is Sagittarius is not narcissistic, nor naïve. With his broad viewpoints, he is able to put things together in a way that other people can’t see them.
Things to do during the Mercury in Sagittarius transit:
Focus on the full side of the glass – Mercury in Sagittarius is known for its contagious optimism
Do stand up comedy or any type of public speaking
Go ‘big picture’ – if Mercury in Gemini is about connecting things and ideas and thinking inside the box, Mercury in Sagittarius is about thinking outside the box. In Sagittarius, Mercury is Jupiter-like, so he likes to ‘go big’ in everything he does
Share your great ideas with others, while allowing them to draw their own conclusions and develop their own opinions. A good, honest debate will always lead to better outcomes
Travel – either with your mind, or literally, pick a destination and go and explore a different culture
Start learning a new language
Philosophize – this is the best time of the year to attempt to answer the big questions of life. “What does it all mean?”
Famous natives with Mercury in Sagittarius: Martin Luther, Marie Curie, Woody Allen, Jimi Hendrix, Voltaire.
