March 2019 comes with one of the most anticipated events of the year: Uranus leaves Aries and moves into Taurus.
Uranus was briefly in Taurus in 2018, and then retrograded back into Aries. But now he’s back in Taurus for good. Or at least for the next 7 years. When a slow-moving planet like Uranus changes signs, you know you’re up for a change.
Something in your life will change, because when Uranus comes, he always brings change.
Uranus is the planet of freedom, enlightenment, and liberation. When your sense of freedom is awakened, change usually follows. That’s why midlife crisis, for example, has been associated with the planet Uranus. Uranus always makes an opposition to natal Uranus when someone is 40-42 years old.
The midlife crisis basically means that your sense of freedom is awakened. You no longer what to live by society’s rules (Saturn). You want to live by your own rules and unleash your full creative potential.
Uranus in Taurus will move into a different sector of your life and will awaken your latent potential in that particular area of your life.
March is a very eventful month, and apart from Uranus moving into Taurus we also have other important events. On March 20th, 2019 we have the Equinox and the beginning of a new astrological year, Mercury goes retrograde on Mach 5th, 2019 and spends almost the whole month in a conjunction to Neptune in Pisces, and Sun is conjunct Chiron, asking you to come to terms with your primal wound.
But let’s have a look at the most important astrological events of the month:
March 1st, 2019 – Venus Enters Aquarius
On March 1st, 2019 Venus enters Aquarius. After she spent three weeks in the serious sign of Capricorn, making conjunctions with the toughest planets of the zodiac (Saturn, Pluto, and the South Node), Venus takes a deep breath of fresh air and moves into Aquarius.
In Aquarius, Venus rises above personal concerns and takes a more objective, realistic approach to life. Venus in Capricorn was a heavy transit. Venus in Aquarius will lift the burden of resentment from your heart.
March 5th, 2019 – Mercury Goes Retrograde
On March 5th, 2019 Mercury goes retrograde at 29 degrees Pisces, the last degrees of the zodiac. Just when Mercury was about to start a new journey (at 0° Aries), he has decided instead to stop and go back.
There is still some work that needs to be done. There are still adjustments that need to be made.
Maybe there is a chapter of your life you thought had closed, but Mercury retrograde will reopen it, for you take a closer look at it. You may not like this. But Mercury retrograde will help you see things from a different perspective.
Mercury will spend most of March in a conjunction to Neptune. Mercury and Neptune will deconstruct your present reality, to show you a different perspective.
You can have an epiphany, and finally, understand why something happened the way it happened. When you find this missing piece of the puzzle, everything will fall into place.
To benefit from Mercury’s immersion into Pisces, keep your mind open. Be aware of any misconceptions or prejudices you may have.
March 6th, 2019 – Uranus Enters Taurus
On March 6th, 2019 Uranus enters Taurus. Uranus changing signs always comes with big shifts. To find out how exactly Uranus in Taurus will influence you, look up in your natal chart and see in which house is affected by this transit.
If you’re an Aries Ascendant, Uranus moves into your 2nd house, if you’re a Taurus ascendant, Uranus moves in your first house, if you’re a Gemini ascendant, Uranus moves into your 12th house, if you’re a Cancer ascendant, Uranus moves into your 11th house, if you’re a Leo ascendant, Uranus moves into your 10th house, if you’re a Virgo ascendant, Uranus moves into your 9th house, if you’re a Libra ascendant, Uranus moves into your 8th house, if you’re a Scorpio ascendant, Uranus moves into your 7th house, if you’re a Sagittarius ascendant, Uranus moves into your 6th house, if you’re a Capricorn ascendant, Uranus moves into your 5th house, if you’re an Aquarius ascendant, Uranus moves into your 4th house, if you’re a Pisces ascendant, Uranus moves into your 3rd house.
Get familiarized with the basic meaning of the house to see where you can expect the wind of change in your life.
March 6th, 2019 – New Moon In Pisces
On March 6th, 2019 we have a New Moon at 15° Pisces. Every New Moon comes with a new beginning, but this particular New Moon even more so, because it is linked to Uranus’ move into Taurus. This particular new beginning will not bring any type of change… it will bring a fundamental change in your life.
The New Moon is conjunct Neptune, opening completely new possibilities for you. The New Moon in Pisces is also sextile Mars and Saturn.
Even if a New Moon conjunct Neptune is not the most energizing transit, thanks to the positive influence of Mars and Saturn, you will take focused action this time. Neptune is the uncharted territory of your soul. Are you ready to dive in?
March 15th, 2019 – Mercury Conjunct Sun
On March 15th, 2019 Mercury retrograde is conjunct the Sun at 24 degrees Pisces, which means a new Mercury cycle begins.
A Mercury cycle lasts for about 4 months, so if you plan to do something that will require 4 months to complete, this is a good time to initiate it.
Sun and Mercury are square Jupiter in Sagittarius. This time, you are confident and optimistic about the outcome. A positive mindset is proven to produce better outcomes and increase your chances of success.
March 20th, 2019 – Sun Enters Aries
On March 20th, 2019 Sun enters Aries. This is the beginning of a new astrological year, because the Sun starts a new journey around the zodiac. No matter where on the Earth you live, the day is equal to the night. March 20 will set the tone for the new astrological year.
This year, the equinox point is conjunct Chiron. This conjunction really stands out because it is very tight. Chiron is a symbol of holistic healing. This means that 2019 will be the year of holistic healing.
No matter what needs healing in your life, in the coming year you have the chance to finally restore your balance and become whole again. Chiron is also a symbol for teachers, so you can expect to find a teacher that will stir your life in the right direction.
March 21st, 2019 – Full Moon In Libra
On March 21th, 2019 we have a Full Moon in Libra. March transits are dynamite! If the New Moon brought us Uranus in Taurus, the Full Moon in Libra is connected to the beginning of the astrological year.
You may know by now that a Full Moon alone is powerful enough – it basically represents the energetic peak of the month.
But this Full Moon is at 0° Libra, one of the four cardinal degrees, one of the most potent degrees of the zodiac. If you start something when the Sun or the Moon is at one of these four cardinal degrees, then anything is possible.
Cardinal signs = action. 0° is the degree of all possibilities.
The Full Moon is opposite Chiron, now at 1° Aries. If you want healthy relationships (Libra), you need to heal yourself first (Sun conjunct Chiron). Instead of trying to find the right partner, work on becoming the right person. Find out who you really are and heal your sense of identity.
March 22nd, 2019 – Sun Conjunct Chiron
On March 22, 2019, Sun is conjunct Chiron at 1° Aries. From all Chiron transits, Chiron conjunct the Sun is perhaps the most significant one. Chiron has a special relationship with the Sun.
In the Greek myth, Chiron was adopted by Apollo (the Greek name for the Sun) who taught him everything he knew. Chiron was initially rejected by his parents, but it was the Sun who saved him.
The Sun represents the Self, our divine mission. Chiron represents our primal wound, the wound of being born, the wound of existence.
It is only by fully embracing ourselves, and our true purpose in life, that we can transcend the wound of existence and become whole. Once you have accepted yourself, once you walk on the path of your destiny, wholeness is restored, and healing is instantaneous.
March 24th, 2019 – Mercury Conjunct Neptune
On March 24th, 2019 Mercury is conjunct Neptune at 16 degrees Pisces. Neptune is the planet of mysteries, fogginess and illusion, and Mercury is retrograde. Most people would say “expect confusions, lies, and pretty much don’t do anything in March when Mercury is retrograde”.
Bur Neptune doesn’t only stand for illusions. Neptune is also the planet that opens us to the infinite possibilities of our existence.
If you are ready to see things you have never seen before, if you are ready to accept theories that may contradict your deepest truths, then Mercury retrograde conjunct Neptune can open your mind in ways you’ve never experienced before.
March 26th, 2019 – Venus In Pisces
On March 26th, 2019 Venus enters Pisces. Venus is exalted in Pisces, which means she is able to express herself at her best. With Venus in Pisces, beauty becomes art, love becomes compassion and universal values transcend personal concerns.
No matter what’s going on in your life, Venus in Pisces will open your heart to the infinite beauty that is all around us.
In Pisces, Venus likes to dream, and the border between dreams, imagination and reality may very well shift just as the boundary between the ocean and the shoreline, inviting you to surrender and enjoy what it is.
March 28th, 2019 – Mercury Goes Direct
On March 28th, 2019 Mercury goes direct. After Mercury has spent 3 weeks submerged in the ocean, he finally returns to the shore. He has experienced a completely different world.
Was it a dream? Was it real?
Either or, he has been enriched by the experience. He now knows something he didn’t know before. Reflect on the past 3 weeks. What messages did you receive? Did you have any particular dreams? How can you integrate these insights into your everyday life?
March 31st, 2019 – Mars In Gemini
On March 31st, 2019 Mars enters Gemini. Mars is a fire sign and Gemini is an air sign. In Gemini, Mars becomes even more curious, even more adventurous, although he may lack passion or focus.
In the coming 6 weeks, you can become more argumentative, but also more persuasive. Mars is the planet of winning and Gemini is the sign of the mind.
The best way to make use of this energy is to win on the intellectual front. In the coming 6 weeks, tackle those things you tend to procrastinate, take that exam, have that difficult conversation.

I have chiron in aries and my birthday is on March 22nd. I have been fascinated with chiron all my life. After reading the chiron/sun conjunction on this birthday it feels like it s huge for me. Is there anything else (that isn t covered in this article) I should be on the lookout for?
Yes, Sun conjunct Chiron in the solar return chart (your birthday) is very significant. I will write more articles about Chiron in the coming month
Coincidence – my b day is also 1 Aries on the 22nd of March opposite my natal Chiron at 0 degrees. Wondering where and what degree is your natal Chiron?
Fabulous the month of March
New beginning!
Love your Posts🙏💖
thank you. I didn’t know Chiron is also a symbol for teachers.
Wow! what a month we have lined up in the skies.. I am looking forward to seeing it all unfold, the new Pisces moon will conjunct my natal moon and the full moon at zero degrees libra will conjunct my Asc at zero Libra AND my natal Venus at 1 degree…. no idea what to expect but will hang on for the ride!
Seems I’m getting a huge boost of energy from great aspects that start this month! Great! But I really hope to find the teacher that will steer me the right way! Thanks! Thanks! Thanks! 💕
When I read “Uranus always makes an opposition to natal Uranus when someone is 40-42 years old”, and being 42 years old, and to understand the opposition, should I look at the house and sign Uranus is in in my natal chart?
Many thanks!
Yes I think Uranus into Taurus signifies the breaking down, sometimes violently and unexpectedly, of the existing structures materially and financially. Maybe fiat currency is at an end. The world will feel less secure, that’s for sure.
That said, I don’t see the outer planets like most, I see them more like fixed stars with a generational influence, personal only if angular or strongly aspected in personal charts.
