Venus Conjunct Chiron – Healing The Heart

Venus conjunct Chiron comes with the opportunity to embrace our vulnerability and heal our heart

Venus is the planet of love, relationships, and personal values. Venus is what is important to you.

Chiron is the Wounded Healer and shows us where we feel broken and inadequate.

Now that Chiron is in Aries, these feelings of brokenness and inadequacy are about the very foundation of who we are (Aries is the sign of identity).

With Chiron in Aries, we feel that something is wrong with us.

But are exactly these feelings of shame, brokenness and inadequacy that will eventually trigger our desire to find what’s wrong and ultimately heal.

Chiron is the key to the zodiac. When Chiron makes an aspect to another planet, it ‘unlocks’ its secrets, it reveals something that was hidden, overlooked and misunderstood.

Chiron is also the bridge of the zodiac because it links the visible planets (up to Saturn), to the invisible, transpersonal planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto).

Chiron reveals (the key) and transcends (the bridge).

Chiron has 3 functions in astrology:

  1. First, it makes us aware of what hurts and brings this pain to the surface. This is the “Wounded Healer” phase.
  2. Chiron heals the wound. Perhaps you are familiar with the terms “purging” or “healing crisis”. This happens ONLY if we become aware of the wound. If the wound remains unconscious, healing doesn’t happen.
  3. Chiron transforms the wound into a gift. Once the wound has been healed, it can finally reveal its gifts. Shyness transforms into quiet confidence. Anger becomes passion. Lack of self-worth becomes emotional maturity.

Venus Conjunct Chiron – Healing The Wound, Healing The Heart

What should you do when Chiron is conjunct Venus, the planet of love?

Mother Teresa said it best:

“I have found this paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.”

We are wired to avoid pain and suffering. We stop at “until it hurts”. Instead of delving into the pain, instead of feeling it, embracing it, opening our heart to it, we shut it down.

At a deeper level, we know that love is the answer, yet we stop just when we are about to break through the fear.

We get ourselves busy so we don’t have to think about it. We jump from one relationship to another. We take our credit card and go shopping. We overeat or overdrink – we do anything to avoid the pain,

Venus Conjunct Chiron – Choosing Love Over Fear

Have you ever wondered what makes you stop just before you open your heart to love? What makes you so afraid of suffering?

We are afraid that what we love will be taken away from us.

We are in a continuous state of limbo, too afraid to lose what we have, too afraid to get in touch with our hearts.

Venus conjunct Chiron will help you get in touch with your heart.

Chiron is not a ‘magic pill’ to heal what’s broken. But it will show you how to love, so you can break through the fear and start loving – for real.

The process may not be easy.

Chiron will firstly show you what’s buried inside your heart – the good, the bad and the ugly.

This means you may need to acknowledge that something still hurts.

When Chiron is conjunct Venus, ignoring your wounds is not an option.

Holding on to what causes you pain is guaranteed to make you suffer even more in the future. When we don’t feel our feelings, when we stuff them down, these hurt feelings and emotional wounds become increasingly difficult to heal.

“Don’t fake it till you make it. Face it till you make it”.

You need to face your hurt feelings. You need to make friends with your wound.

Chiron – The Wound Is Your Gift

You cannot simply ‘fix’ or remove the wound – because by removing your wound, you would be amputating a part of yourself. Your wound is part of your personal history, it is a part of YOU.

Your wound is not something you need to get rid of. You have it for a reason.

Your hurt feelings are nothing to be ashamed of, but just a reminder of how far you’ve come.

Your broken heart doesn’t mean you should never love again, it means that your capacity for giving and receiving love has expanded.

Just like muscles break when we exercise (only to grow bigger, and stronger), in the same way, your capacity to love increases every time your heart breaks.

When you accept that negative emotions, sorrow and heartbreak are part of life – and a blessing in disguise – you can finally heal the heart.

If someone broke your heart in the past, the Venus conjunct Chiron transit is a good time to forgive them. They made you a favor. Thanks to the experience you shared, now you can love even deeper, and with more compassion.

The more you love, the less fear you have. And the less fear, the more you can be at ease with the world and fulfill your human potential.

To unveil the gifts of Venus conjunct Chiron:

  1. Unlock your heart – open your heart and take any opportunity to be vulnerable
  2. Heal what’s broken
  3. Transform scars into beauty, and fear into love

  1. Thank You so much for an interesting article!! I always enjoy your blog posts tremendously! 🙂 <3

  2. Thank you so much for another wonderful post. I really am always looking forward to your new posts as each time something speaks to me.
Looking forward to Chiron approaching my Mercury in the 12th house (on 8′ Aries as apex of a yod with Pluto/NNode and Neptune).
There healing is so much needed. I think my Mercury is and always has been the most wounded part of myself. I recently (this morning actually) tested for some unbeknownst reason, that my main ptsd-trigger is not speaking up when I need to. Probably the reason for constantly getting chronic bronchitis whenever I don’t speak up, I can see that so clearly now, instant effect. I am not saying what I needc to say and have bronchitis a few hours later.
That is going to change right now, I don’t know how yet, as the majority of things I have to speak up about are in my job, but we will see.

Thanks again for opening my eyes again. Your blog is just most wonderful.
    I wish you offered readings!

    1. Hi Annette! I also have a Mercury apex yod with Pluto and Neptune! And Venus conjunct Chiron in my natal chart! What a coincidence. I also encounter difficulty speaking up and keeping my boundaries. Felt like saying hi 🙂

      1. Hi Kathrin, I just only saw your reply to my comment when I re-read the article. I would love to exchange experiences with you about the yod (by email though as I am a bit private). I have this transit Venus/Chiron just on my mercury right now. Where is yours?

    2. I was soo surprised when I was searching the reason of my sorrow and heartbreak from astrology. I am working with people myself and for about a year I feel that I cannot do that and everything is soo wrong. My self confidence is totally gone and nothing seems to lighten me up anymore. So now I was looking to my transit chart and right now Sun, Venus, Chiron are in exact conjunction with my natal Chiron. I see now why all this surfaces up. Thank you for very explaining article. I have my answer now.

  3. Thank you very much for your very informative post ! I wonder if this could be applied to a composite chart where Chiron conj Venus is in 10th/11th house? Wishing the very best for you! Andrea

  4. Thanks, I was identifying a pain present in my heart today and intuition led me to this blog, perfect.

  5. You are Brilliant. Your explanation above caused me to have a major breakthrough. THANK YOU!! You worded everything perfectly. I’m 56 so a breakthrough at this point with me, is not easy. You wove your magic.

  6. Okay. That’s all well and fine. But what about the Venus SQUARE Chiron? (I’m the Chiron). It’s KILLING me!!!

    Anything…ANYTHING…will help. , (

    1. I can’t speak to that specific aspect. But I can tell you about what I am doing to heal my Chiron. My Chiron is in Taurus. The symbol or glyph for Chiron is so powerful. I trace it on my palm and foot chakras at least once a day. I am aware of my Chiron triggers—i.e., hoarding material goods, judgment of myself or others as more or less worthy, overeating to feel full and safe—and try my best to avoid those activities every day. I’ve made up my mind that my actions and choices will reflect my desire to accept and to heal my Chrionic wound.

I’d recommend that you trace the glyphs of Chiron and Venus on your chakras and ask the vibrations of both heavenly bodies to alert you to what you need to do to heal. You can also make an “affirmation box” for help. Take a shoebox and draw the glyphs for Chiron and Venus on an index card, use another index card to draw the sign of the house they are in. What number house are they in? Research or write affirmations that relate to these heavenly bodies and this sign and house on additional index cards. Keep your intentions pure and selfless. Put all the cards in the box and put it away. Keep up your other spiritual work in the meantime. Periodically think of all of the cards in the box steeping in the wonderful energy of your affirmations. This project will hopefully help you to gain insight and to progress.

  7. Thanks my venus is in sagittarius in the 4th house conjunction chiron and pluto and lilith squaring mars(pisces 7H) wondering what sag venus in 4h means

  8. So amazingly written, aahh, I just loved reading it and many thanks and gratitude for sharing it and thank God that I find it here in your website

  9. I have now chiron transit, conjunct with natal venus in Aries in 12th house. I am dealing with unresolved trauma around shocking heart break from long time ago. Its coming up to me so intensly. I honestly have so much difficulties with it and am anyhow learning about love but real love, the heart shows the truth, you can simply love anyone, but I anyhow have still pain aroun it and am alone, no lover, broken relationship. I decided to ask for help of some therapy, because it is sooo difficult and exhausting. But anyhow in.the background I can feel that something new is emerging, its painfull and beautifull at once. Also a lot of spiritual stuff which I am dealing with or the result is that its making me go inside, go deeper… what to say… I am tired, I hope I survive it all and maybe help someone else then, I am already starting some deep transformation couching. On the outside looks like nothing is happening, but inside… lol

  10. Beautiful article. Also, where can we find the painting featured in the article with the woman in the woods? It’s so pretty.
