Astrology Of December 2017 – Saturn Moves Into Capricorn And Messages From The Galactic Center

December is the month when Saturn, the great teacher, changes signs and moves into Capricorn, just before the solstice on December 21st. The last week of December makes the best time for New Year’s resolutions – and with Saturn changing signs, you don’t want to limit yourself to one year goals. Aim higher! Focus on your vision for the next 3 years – this is how much time Saturn will spend in his own sign, Capricorn. There has never been a better time to put your long term goals into action!

Saturn transit in Capricorn is extra potent because whenever a planet transits its own sign, it manifest the themes of the house ruled by Capricorn in your natal chart. A planet in its own sign transits the same house it rules!

Let’s take an example. If you have Capricorn ascendant, then Saturn rules your 1st house. When Saturn was in Sagittarius, it transited your 12th house. So you had the ruler of the 1st house transiting the 12th house. But now, when Saturn moves into Capricorn, you will have the ruler of your 1st house also transiting the 1st house. This is a double whammy and means that Saturn is not only twice stronger, but is also focused on one thing – the particular house that it transits.

That’s why Saturn Capricorn is great news for all of us, as it will help us finally manifest the area of our life ruled by Capricorn.

Are you a Cancer Ascendant? Saturn is the ruler of your 7th house and it will also transit the 7th house, manifesting the themes of the 7th house. So Saturn will bring you new relationships, or it will bring commitment in existing relationships. The focus is clear: relationships.

This does not mean Saturn will manifest the themes of the house overnight. Saturn is the planet of Time. Saturn always manifests his promise, but slowly. With Saturn, you won’t get it right away.  Saturn asks for discipline and patience. But if you take it slowly, if do every day a little more, step by step, you will eventually succeed.

December

On December 1st we have good news and bad news: the good news is that Venus leaves Scorpio, the sign of her detriment, and enters flamboyant Sagittarius. If you found it difficult lately to give and receive love, you can expect an overall improvement in your relationships with Venus’ entrance in Sagittarius.

Love needs faith, and in the open, generous Sagittarius, love can flow more easily. You will especially benefit from this transit if you have your Venus in a Fire or Air sign.

The ‘not so good’ news is that Mars opposes Uranus in the same day. This is an explosive combination which can bring erratic and even aggressive behavior, so try to stay away from any kind of altercations.

On December 2nd we have the first Jupiter Neptune trine – the other two trines will take place in 2018. Jupiter trine Neptune is one of the most important transits of 2018, because it involves two slow moving planets.

Jupiter trine Neptune is a wonderful transit favoring spiritual and artistic endeavors. Jupiter will increase everything Neptune stands for – higher love, spirituality, being one with the universe, while Neptune will make Jupiter more accessible. Jupiter stands for abundance, growth, living in integrity, the truth. So Neptune will make it easier for us to benefit from Jupiter’s grace.

You will especially benefit from this aspect if you have Sagittarius or Pisces ascendant, or if you have planets in the middle of the Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces). This 1st trine is at 11° Scorpio (Jupiter) and 11° Pisces (Neptune).

December 3rd is one of the most important days of the month: not only we have a Full Moon at 11° Gemini, but the Full Moon’s ruler, Mercury goes retrograde in the same day. Mercury retrograde is also approaching a conjunction to Saturn in the last degrees of Sagittarius. Not to mention that the Full Moon is square Neptune – all happens in the same day! The Full Moon takes place on the Gemini/ Sagittarius axis, the axis of Truth.

This Full Moon in Gemini will let you know what Saturn in Sagittarius was all about – in a way, it marks the ‘final chapter’ of Saturn in Sagittarius. But the message is not so clear, although it comes from the Galactic Center (Mercury and Saturn are conjunct the Galactic Center). The Full Moon squares Neptune. You might not want to hear the truth…or at least, not yet. Who wants to listen to Saturn?

Ultimately, if you do listen, you will finally figure out what is stopping you from aligning yourself with the truth of who you are. What lies have you been telling yourself? What do you have to open your eyes to see today?

On December 5th Chiron goes direct at 24° Pisces. Chiron is the archetype of the wounded healer. When retrograde, Chiron digs into his own wounds and aims to heal himself – when direct, Chiron becomes a healer himself. If you have planets around 24° Pisces or you have a strong Chiron in your natal chart, you will become more in touch with the healer inside you.

On December 6th Mercury retrograde will conjunct Saturn at 28° Sagittarius. This is the 2nd Mercury Saturn conjunction – we had the 1st one on November 27th when Mercury was still direct. The 3rd conjunction between Mercury and Saturn will take place on 13th on January, but this time the conjunction will be in Capricorn.

Therefore, December 6th is your last chance to revisit the Saturn in Sagittarius lessons, before you move on. Mercury conjunct Saturn will bring the culmination, the resolution of the Saturn in Sagittarius transit, before you move on to greener pastures. It has been a long journey – but all journeys come to an end. Or at least, a very important milestone has been reached.

Pay attention to the events, news, thoughts that come your way on December 6th. What makes the Mercury Saturn conjunction truly special is that it takes place very close to the Galactic Center – bringing you divine insights. The Universe will whisper you something very important – just listen!

On December 9th Mars enters Scorpio, which is the sign of his domicile. This is great news! Mars represents our drive, our assertiveness, and in Scorpio, Mars finds the strength and focus to channel his energy into what is important for him. No more “let’s compromise”, “let’s leave it like this for a while”….Mars in Scorpio goes for what he truly wants, and so will you. If you have planets in Scorpio, you will get an extra boost of energy from Mars’ transit.

On December 13th  Sun and Mercury meet for an interior conjunction and a new Mercury cycle starts. Because this Mercury cycle is connected to Saturn in Sagittarius, now is time to bring your best message, your most important learning, to reveal your greatest masterpiece to the world. Sagittarius represents higher knowledge and the truth. What is your truth? What can others learn from it? Bring your greatest insight forward.

On December 15th  Mercury is conjunct Venus at 17° Sagittarius, and both planets trine the North Node in Leo. The big picture will become more clear to you right now, you will feel more enthusiastic about your prospects, about your ability to reach your goals. You know where you are going to, and most important, you know why you’re going there.

On December 16th Sun is trine Uranus. Sun (the self) in harmonious aspect to Uranus (the planet of freedom and liberation) will make even the most self-critical persons feel at ease, feel good about themselves. Sun trine Uranus brings a feeling or rightness. Everything flows easily and we will finally be able to feel comfortable in our own skin. There has never been a better time to be YOU. You will especially benefit from this transit if you have planets in the last decan of the fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius).

On December 18th we have a New Moon at 26° Sagittarius. The New Moon is conjunct Saturn, Venus and the Galactic Center, and it is also trine Uranus. After a challenging Full Moon on December 3rd, we now have a wonderful New Moon on December 18th.  This is the New Moon you were waiting for to set intentions which will eventually become a reality.

Saturn and the Galactic Center will do the trick. Whatever you start right now it is in full alignment with the womb of the universe. It will be very, very difficult for you to get it wrong this time. The Universe has your back!

December 20th is the big day. Saturn changes signs and moves into Capricorn. What makes this particular planetary ingress so special is that it happens – literally – hours apart from the solstice (winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and summer solstice in the Southern Hemisphere). The winter solstice is one of the 4 key dates of the year, corresponding in astrology to the 0° of the Cardinal signs (we have the equinoxes at 0° in Aries and 0° Libra, and the solstices at 0° in Cancer and 0° Capricorn).

I’ve seen it over and over again, from my own experience and from my client’s experiences – whatever seed you plant at the time when the Sun is at one of these 4 key positions – it will sprout! It is magic how nature works. I met my partner years ago exactly at the summer solstice (when the Sun was at 0°00’ Cancer) and I started the Astro Butterfly site at the equinox (when the Sun was at 0°20’ Libra).

So make sure you take advantage of this extremely potent energy. Don’t forget, Saturn is the manifestor. Saturn has the patience and the diligence to make things happen, to turn abstract goals into reality. I prepared something for you to help you with the Saturn transit, more details in the coming weeks, stay tuned!

On December 21st Sun enters Capricorn, marking the winter/summer solstice, and immediately after, he meets Saturn at 0° Capricorn. The area of your life ruled by Saturn, that thing you need to focus on in the coming 3 years, will suddenly be brought to your awareness – depending on how well you embrace it, it can feel like a slap in the face or like a breakthrough “I knew it all along”. Sun with Saturn is manifestation in action. Now is time to set that goal, to make the plan on how you are going to climb that mountain.

On December 23rd Mercury goes direct at 13° Sagittarius and life will go back to normal. Mercury will exit the shadow zone on January 11th, when it will also change signs and move into Capricorn. So you still have two more weeks to fully digest and integrate Saturn in Sagittarius’ lessons.

On December 25th Venus enters Capricorn. In Capricorn, Venus wants to become the best version of herself. But Venus in Capricorn is also pragmatic and realistic – she wants to make sure her goals are attainable. Venus in Capricorn is as cardinal as Venus in Aries, but in Capricorn, it’s not only about her. She knows that only those goals, whose aspirations which are aligned with the socio-economic context, with what the world wants from us – are attainable.

On December 26th Venus also conjuncts Saturn at 0° Capricorn. This is a highly active transit because it takes place at the 0° of a cardinal sign, one of the four most active degrees of the zodiac. After you figured out what is going to keep you busy in the coming years  (with Sun conjunct Saturn) now it is time to align your goal to your wants and beliefs.

On December 27th Mars is trine Neptune. Mars is our assertive drive and Neptune is the spiritual “no borders” planet. Mars in positive aspect to Neptune will make you feel more optimistic about your prospects for success, you will be more likely to go for what you want, to pursue your dreams. Mars trine Neptune also increase your desire to lose yourself into another, to merge with another person. You will benefit from this transit if you have planets around 11° in Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces).

December is a very important month – events are likely to happen again and again. On the 3rd of December avoid any rash decisions, as you may have a hard time in discerning personal truths from facts. Better to wait for the New Moon on 18th of December, or even better, for 20-23rd of December, when we have the solstice, Saturn changes signs, and Mercury goes direct. The last week of December is the time to commit – and act. The sky is the limit!

How Do The Moon Cycles Affect You

Are you a ‘Moon person’?

There are two different types of people. People who are influenced by the Moon, and people who don’t know they are influenced by the Moon.

Indeed, the closest celestial body, our beloved Moon, affects all of us. Artists, lovers, astrologers and scientists all agree with that.

You cannot help but notice it. The Moon will stare at you in the night sky and will catch your glimpse even if you don’t particularly look for her.

The Moon has fascinated people since the beginning of times. There is something magic about the way she shines, about the way she changes shape every day, about the clockwise precision of her cycles.

Moon 1

As seen from  Earth, the discs of the Sun and the Moon are identical in size. This is because, although the Moon is 400 time smaller than the Sun, is also 400 times closer to the Earth. Isn’t this amazing? Even the most skeptical mind cannot think that this is simply a coincidence.

The Moon changes shape every night, revealing a little bit more or a little bit less of herself, depending whether she is waxing or waning. The light we see is not coming from the Moon. The Moon only projects the Sun’s light, so depending on the relative position of the Sun, Moon and Earth we get to see the Moon from different angles.

Each night, a different amount of light is given off by the Moon according to its changing relationship with the Sun. Within an approximate 28-day cycle, the Moon passes through 8 phases, each phase lasting about 45° or 3.5 days.

Because the Moon does not have a light of her own, in astrology the Moon represents our unconscious mind.  And because the Moon is the Earth’s satellite, it ‘belongs’ to the Earth. The Moon also rules our body, the flow of blood and our physiological processes.

The Moon describes our moods, but also the natural processes of life.  Moon cycles are identical, unlike the cycles of Mercury, Venus or other planets. Also, the Moon is never retrograde – that’s why the Moon is very predictable. With the Moon you know where you stand.

In astrology, events tend to happen when the Moon activates particular parts of our chart. And events tend NOT happen when the Moon is void of course.

The Moon also rules our energy and engagement level. When the Moon is invisible in the sky, our energy plummets, but as the Moon increases in size, our energy levels soar. Every month we have our energy peak at the time of the Full Moon.

And although we are all affected by the Moon, we are affected in different ways, depending upon which Moon phase we are born under.

Were you born during the day or during the night? If you were born at night, then the Moon will influence you more strongly – and will define your personality even more than your Sun sign.

Also, if you have Cancer or Taurus Moon, Cancer ascendant, or if you have a stellium of planets in Cancer, or if your Moon is positioned close to one of your angles (Ascendant, IC, Descendant, MC), then the Moon will affect you more strongly.

Last and not least, if you were born during the First Quarter, Gibbous, Full Moon or the Disseminating phase, the Moon is strong in your chart, which means you can express its qualities more freely.

To check out which Moon phase you were born under, get your natal chart and check the position of the Moon relative to the Sun. If you don’t know how to generate your natal chart, have a look this article.

Moon

Born at a NEW MOONthe Moon is conjunct the Sun. The Moon was invisible at the time of your birth.

For you, life is an adventure with unlimited possibilities. You are spontaneous and live in the moment, following your intuition rather than rational reasoning. You tend to dislike rules and conventions. You usually feel more energetic during the day and Full Moons can unbalance you.

Because you were born when the Moon was invisible, your mission in this lifetime is to discover your identity, who you really are.

Born when the Moon is CRESCENT the Moon is after the Sun. The phase starts when the Moon becomes visible in the sky and ends with the first quarter.

You are a very emotional person and you need security in your life. Your mission is to learn to become independent and detach from the past. As you develop the courage to be yourself, more and more opportunities will come your way. Be brave and you will be rewarded.

Born at a FIRST QUARTER Moonthe Moon is between 90° and 135° ahead of the Sun.

You are very spontaneous and adaptable – you just ‘know’ what to do, especially in crisis situations.

You have great managerial skills and you can do well in any activities which require quick and sharp decision making. But what really drives you is your family and building solid foundations for yourself and for the close ones.

You are what is called a “change agent” – just be careful not to kill some ideas too soon just for the sake of change, however.

Born when the Moon is GIBBOUS the Moon is between 135° and 180° ahead of the Sun.

You are life’s eternal student, always questioning the status quo. You seek perfection in everything you do and you are ready to do whatever it takes to achieve your true potential to create value in the world. You are an overachiever.

Try not to become too anxious and perfectionist, and learn to lean back from time to time.

Born at a FULL MOONthe Moon is between 180° and 225° behind the Sun.

You are an artist and an idealist. You wear your heart on your sleeve and you can be quite charming and popular. Your greatest strengths are your clarity and objectivity – you see things for what they are, rather than operating on blind faith.

Relationships are very important to you and you tend to project yourself onto others. You may be torn between two different ‘parts’ of you which want different things. Your mission is to integrate these apparently disparate pieces of yourself.

Born when the Moon is DISSEMINATINGthe Moon is between 225° and 270° behind the Sun.

You are a visionary with an ability to keep your eye on the big picture. You are a natural communicator, a teacher and a philosopher.

Although you feel a sense of urgency to fulfil your life’s purpose and to spread your message to the world, try not to become too overbearing. Your mission is not to make sure that people follow your teachings, but simply pass to on a torch of knowledge to others.

Born at a LAST QUARTER Moonthe Moon is between 270° – 315° behind the Sun.

You are a very driven individual with unique ideas on how to make the world a better place. You are motivated by tearing down the old structures and can thrive in conflict. Ahead of your time, it can be difficult for you to relate to life in the present moment.

You can have numerous changes in your life – particularly the 2nd part of your life. Just like a caterpillar becomes a butterfly, you can completely change your identity and find an inner happiness that comes from deep within.

Born at BALSAMIC Moon the Moon is between 315° until it becomes invisible.

You are a missionary, a healer with psychic abilities. Highly introspective, you seek for solitude because this is where you charge your batteries. You can have deep resentment toward people who harmed you – but in this lifetime you need to learn to forget and forgive.

When you manage to let go of the past and put yourself into the world, you can become the leader you were born to be.

***

The Moon phase under which you were born can gave you great insight into who you really are and what really drives you in life.

The Moon affects us every day. No matter under which Moon phase you were born, you will follow the Moon’s cycle as it unfolds every day of the lunar month.

How does the Moon affect you according to the Moon phase

The New Moon the energy is similar to a conjunction.

This is a time of low energy. The last few days before the New Moon are good for completing projects or getting rid of things you no longer want in your life, like bad habits. It is also a good time for diets or fasting as your body’s activity is at its lowest point in this Moon cycle.

Try not to overindulge in food during this time because your sleep can be disturbed. If you feel low emotionally, try to surround yourself with positive people, or do a low-intensity activity which can uplift your mood.

The New Moon is the best time to meditate and regroup.

The First Quarter and the Last Quarter of the Moon the energy is similar to a square.

This is the time when one half of the lunar disc is illuminated and the other half is dark. There is a 50-50 quality about this Lunar phase, which creates tension, but also motivation to get things done.

Right now you can feel an itch inside of you, but you don’t really know what to do about it. The Quarters of the Moon are similar to the PMS syndrome. You can feel stressed out and find it difficult to unwind. Try to exercise and drink water during this phase of the Moon cycle.

The Full Moon the energy is similar to an opposition.

This is the peak of the lunar cycle, with half of the Moon is fully illuminated and visible, as seen from the Earth.

This is a high point in terms of energy, but the energy of the Full Moon is very different from the First or Last Quarter of the Moon. While the Quarter Moons bring tension and anxiety times, the Full Moon brings energy which is ready to burst. Because the energy can flow freely now, it brings a feeling of saturation, of having too much energy.

The Full Moon energy urges to be expressed. This is a great time for creativity, love, and any type of genuine self-expression. The Full Moon is also a time of manifestation, so things are likely to happen and come to light around the Full Moon. You calendar can fill up more quickly than usual, as everyone seems to want to get out of the house.

Full Moons can be difficult for people who suffer from high blood pressure or sleep disorders.

The Waxing Moon: Crescent and Gibbous the energy is similar to applying sextiles and trines.

Right now everything in nature is in a stage of expansion and growth – this is a good time to put your energy into whatever you want to grow.

For example, if you want your hair to grow faster, now is the time to schedule your hairdresser appointment. In gardening, this is the best time to plant seeds that grow above the earth (leaves, fruits, or flowers).

The Waning Moon: Disseminating and Balsamic the energy is similar to separating sextiles and trines.

This is a good time to complete things, or improve and organize existing activities. If you have a business for example, try to get new clients during the waxing Moon, and to organize and improve the productivity of the existing business during the waning Moon.

Cutting hair should be done at this time if you want it to grow slower. In gardening, this is the best time to plant vegetables that grow under the earth (e.g. carrots, potatoes, horseradish).

***

I hope this gives you a better idea of how the Moon cycle and the different Moon phases affect you.

As a general rule of thumb, you are at your best on the day when the Moon and the Sun are in the same lunar phase under which you were born. In opposition to this, on the day when the phase is opposite to your lunar phase of birth, you are at your weakest.

Do you want to get more in sync with the Moon phases? Try to observe the Moon in the next months. If you do it systematically, I can promise you will become more aware about how the different phases of the Moon affect you:

  • Go outside at night and observe the Moon. How do you feel standing in the Moon light? How is it different from how you feel when under the beams of the Sun?
  • Follow the Moon’s cycle from new crescent, until it disappears from the sky, and back to new crescent again. How do you feel during the different phases of the Moon?
  • The Moon changes signs every 2.5 days. How do you feel when the Moon passes through each of the 12 signs of the zodiac?

Astrology Of November 2017 – Paradise Lost…And Found

November is a month of rediscovering your true essence and remembering what you have always known: that you are perfect as you are.

November is a highly spiritual month, thanks to Neptune which is very active throughout November.

If in September Neptune had challenging aspects, unleashing natural disasters and bringing chaos all around the world, this time around Neptune makes mainly positive aspects to other planets: a trine to the Sun, a sextile to the Full Moon, and a trine to Venus. On November 22nd Neptune stations and turns direct, bringing Neptunian themes into our consciousness.

Neptune will ask you to find a higher order in your life, to upgrade your existence to the next level of consciousness.

In November all personal planets are in aspect to their higher octave planets:

  • Mars is in aspect to Pluto – your individual perspective vs. the higher perspective, your will vs. divine will –> the transit will show you how to assert your unique self in a way that naturally fits in the grand scheme of things
  • Venus is in aspect to Neptune – your needs, your values and desires vs. the universal order –> the transit will show you how to transcend your needs and bring them to a higher vibration of universal love
  • Mercury is in aspect to Uranus – your lower mind vs. the higher mind –> the transit will show you how to connect your mind to the universal mind, how to develop your intuition and allow the divine knowledge to come to you

Water and Fire are the dominant energies in November, asking you to tune into your feelings, connect with the deeper current of your life and to allow inspiration to guide you.

This is not a month of new beginnings – wait until January 2018 to start your big, brave project. November is the month when you need to look inside – what truly defines you? What is the missing, overlooked element? How can you bring it to the next level of awareness?

Transformation is a process that most of us fear – it feels like we have to amputate a part of ourselves. But transformation is not always about destroying the old.

Transformation also means remembering who you really are – bringing into awareness that which has been unconscious or unknown, that part of you which has been forgotten.

November is a time to dig inside you, to find a higher order, an order that resonates better with the person you’ve become, who you’ve developed into.

On November 11th we also have the 3rd and final trine between Saturn and Uranus. Saturn in positive aspect to Uranus facilitates change and restructuring of the old self. The change is harmonious, this time you won’t resist it – you will embrace it effortlessly.

Change does not have to be about becoming someone else, but about rearranging the pieces of the puzzle in your life in a way that better serves your purpose.

Maybe it is not ‘something’ that is missing from your life – it is how everything fits in the bigger picture of your life that makes the difference.

Take what you already have and find a higher order, a better arrangement.

Deep inside our hearts, we all long for the lost paradise, for that place we all emerged from. We chase it all our lives: the perfect job, the perfect home, the perfect lover, the perfect relationship.

Neptune will show you that if you keep chasing it outside, it will keep on slipping through your fingers. But if you realize you have it inside you, if you realize you are already perfect – you will finally find it.

Let’s have a look at the major aspects of the month:

November

On November 3rd Sun is trine Neptune. Today you will be more idealistic than usual and you will want to bring your best self forward. And because you put your best self forward, because you act from your higher self – one of your dreams can come true today, one of your goals can be made real.

The good thing is that you don’t even have to put too much effort into it. You will simply attract it towards you. With Sun in aspect to Neptune, you have to take it easy. Neptune brings a very subtle, soft energy. Now is time to pull, rather than push.

On November 4th we have a Full Moon at 11° Taurus. This is a sweet full Moon making beautiful aspects to Neptune – the Moon is sextile to Neptune and Sun is trine to Neptune.

But that’s not the full story. The Full Moon ruler, Venus is exactly opposite Uranus, the planet of surprises. This makes the Full Moon in Taurus a great time for love and romance – don’t be afraid to venture yourself through unknown territories.

On November 5th Mercury enters Sagittarius. After spending several weeks in the deep waters of Scorpio, Mercury is now ready for a new adventure.

This placement favors big endeavors, big picture thinking, and is not so good for detail work. Sagittarius is about “believing without seeing”, about higher knowledge, beyond proofs and facts.

That’s why Mercury is in detriment in Sagittarius. Mercury is all about facts, and proofs, is about what you can see, hear, and touch. Our mind can get a bit confused in the coming weeks – the best way to deal with this transit it to allow your intuition to take over.

On November 7th Venus enters Scorpio. Love becomes ALL or NOTHING, more private, more mysterious, more intense. In the next weeks, making a deep, true connection with someone who understands you becomes more important than ever.

This is a good transit to boost intimacy in relationships. Just be aware that Venus in Scorpio needs trust. Be ready to offer your trust first. Don’t wait for the other to give it to you. They are going through the same process – someone has to make the first step.

On November 11th Saturn trines Uranus for the 3rd and last time. Saturn trine Uranus is one of the most important transits of the year.  Saturn represents our foundations, our security. Uranus is the pioneer of change. Saturn and Uranus represent the old and the new coming together.

You can now let go of some duties or responsibilities which restrict you. You can let go of some old habits which don’t serve you anymore and introduce new habits, new routines in your life. The transition will be smooth thanks to the positive aspect between Saturn and Uranus.

You will feel the benefits of this transit especially if you have planets or angles around 25° in Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) or if your ascendant is Capricorn or Aquarius.

On November 13th Venus is conjunct Jupiter and Mercury is square Neptune.

Today you will be more open than usual to the good things in life. You will feel more appreciation and gratitude for what life has to offer, and focus much more on the positive aspects of things.

You will also be more generous and more open not only to give, but also to receive love. Your self-worth will improve and you will feel more content about yourself, more at peace with who you are. As a result, the others will start appreciating you even more.

On November 16th Venus in Scorpio is trine Neptune in Pisces. Venus is the planet of love and Neptune is the planet of higher love. Needless to say that love vibrations will resonate at a higher frequency today.

If you are born in a water sign or if you have many planets in water signs you will feel like a fish in the water during this transit.

On November 18th we have a New Moon at 26° Scorpio. The New Moon is quincunx Uranus in Aries and the ruler of the New Moon, Pluto, is square Mars in Libra. This New Moon is Scorpio is pretty challenging and will ask you to find healthy ways to assert your power.

If you are the type of person who imposes their will on others, the New Moon will be particularly tough, because it will ask you to surrender to a higher power.

If in contrary, you have issues in asserting yourself, the New Moon will help you get in touch with your inner power.

On November 19th Mars is square Pluto, bringing our anger and frustration to the surface. We all have anger inside ourselves. Mars square Pluto will ask us to deal with it in one way or another.

Mars represents our self-will. Pluto is the higher octave of Mars, representing the Universe’s will, the higher power which is beyond our control. Because the two will clash, power struggles are inevitable.

Try to find a way to assert your will without entering into conflict with God. If frustration becomes overbearing, physical exercise can be a good way to deal with it.

If you have planets around 17° in Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) you will be especially effected by this transit.

On November 21st  Sun enters Sagittarius. Happy birthday to all Sagittarius out there! Now is that time of the year to seek the truth, to search for meaning. Go into the world with faith – the Universe has your back!

On November 22nd Neptune goes direct at 11° Pisces. You will be reminded that you are part of something larger than yourself.

On November 25th Mercury in Sagittarius is trine Uranus in Aries. Writing, media, communication, crafting, DYI are favored. The quantity of emails, phones, internet activity can increase. If you have a trip planned today it will be particularly exciting.

This is a great day for inspirations of any kind. You mind will start downloading brilliant ideas from a higher source. Divine inspiration can come to you in the flash of a moment.

On November 27th Mercury is conjunct Saturn. This is a good day to organize, make plans, study, learn, do research, or any kind of activity which requires focus. If you have a project you’ve been postponing – this is a good time to tackle it and bring it to a completion, because your discipline, your concentration, your focus are at an all times high.

If you have planets or angles around 27° Sagittarius, or if your ascendant is Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn you will especially benefit from this transit.

June is one of the best months of the year. Optimism will be restored, the impossible will suddenly become possible, and things will just feel right. The month is very intense and eventful though so don’t expect to rest too much during June ;).

Intuition is also heightened so you can make very good decisions right now, especially around June 20th when we have the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. Traveling of any kind is highly favored tanks to a very active Mercury, Jupiter and Gemini/Sagittarius axis.

We have some very positive aspects in June, including a Grand Trine and a Castle early June, we have Jupiter turning direct at the time of the Full Moon in Sagittarius, and we also have numerous trines in Air, Fire and Earth signs.

June

June 1st – The month starts smoothly thanks to a trine between Venus  (25° Aries) and Saturn (25° Sagittarius).

June 3rd  is one of the most positive and progressive days we can get thanks to a series of highly beneficial transits – we have a Grand Trine in Fire signs (North Node, Saturn and Uranus) which is triggered by two kites and forms an unique aspect called Castle. The apex of the Castle is Uranus which is conjunct Venus – expect surprising turns of events. In the same day Sun (13° Gemini) is trine Jupiter (13° Libra), accompanying with a truly upbeat and optimistic energy.

June 4th is an emotional day. Mars enters Cancer and Sun (14° Gemini) applies a square to Neptune (14° Pisces)

June 6th – Two personal planets change sings today – Venus enters Taurus and Mercury enters Gemini. If I could use one word to describe the energy we have today that would be “homecoming”. Both Venus and Mercury enter the signs of their domicile, the place where they can express themselves at their best. In the coming weeks there will be a feeling of “rightness” in the air, love and beauty will be expressed joyfully and communication will run smoothly. If you have Venus or Mercury in less friendly signs (Venus in Aries, Virgo or Scorpio or Mercury in Sagittarius or Pisces) use the following weeks to learn about the “natural” expression of these planets.

June 9th – We have Full Moon in Sagittarius (18°) and in the same day, the Full Moon ruler – Jupiter turns direct. When a planet changes motion is super powerful and having the ruler of a Full Moon changing course exactly at the time of the Full Moon make it even more powerful. This rare occurrence will make the Full Moon of June one of the most important and eventful full moons of the year. You will be asked to expand your horizons and embark into a new journey, be it psychical or metaphorical.  Something “big” will happen because Jupiter likes to expand everything it touches. If you have planets or angles around between 13°-18° in Aries, Gemini, Libra or Sagittarius make sure you mark your calendar 😉

June 13th – Communication can get “all over the place” because Mercury (13° Gemini) is trine Jupiter (13° Libra) and a bit later, square Neptune (14° Pisces). New projects of all sorts are favored, as ideals run high. Now is time to “dream big” and worry less about the “how” – wait for the upcoming Saturn transits to make a plan on how are you going to get there.

June 15th – Time for the first “reality check” of the month as Sun (24° Gemini) is opposite Saturn (24° Sagittarius). Few days later on June 18th is Mercury’s turn to confront with the Teacher – Mercury opposite Saturn (24° Sagittarius).

June 16th – Neptune changes course and turns retrograde at 14° Pisces – our sensitivity and receptivity are heightened. Pisces risings, you are especially affected.

June 20th /  June 21st – Sun and Mercury enter Cancer and conjoin immediately after the Solstice at the very powerful degree 0° Cancer – whatever you started at the beginning of the current Mercury cycle around April 20th will come to fruition now. If you have your ascendant in Gemini, Leo or Virgo you are especially in focus 😉

June 23rd  – We have New Moon in Cancer (2°) conjunct Mercury, encouraging intimate conversations and family bonding. Some sort of information will come to you though intuition, alternatively some old memories may resurface now.

June 24thJune 25th – the atmosphere gets very intense: we have Venus (18° Taurus) trine Pluto (18° Capricorn), Mars (13° Cancer) square Jupiter (13° Libra) and later on Mars (14° Cancer) trine Neptune. Feelings and passions run high – we will want to “merge” with the object of our desire. Make sure you socialize – it is a good idea to plan a date or a nigh out around this time.

June 27th – Mercury (13° Cancer) is square Jupiter (13° Libra) and later that day trine Neptune (14° Pisces). Again, this is a good time to “dream big” and pursue creative activities.

The month ends with some more Mercury action (Mercury has been very active this month!) On June 28th – Mercury is conjunct Mars at 15° Cancer and one day later on June 29th Mercury (18° Cancer) is opposite Pluto (18° Capricorn). This time Mercury is sharped-tongued and can get bad tempered! Try to stay cool, do some meditation, spend some time by water – would be a pity to spoil such a fantastic month right at the end. Remember, words can never be taken back, so chose them carefully 😉

Have a wonderful June!

Astrology Of May 2017 – The Nodes Are Changing Signs, Get Ready For A Major Shift

May is marked by the Nodes changing sings – The North Node moves into Leo and the South Node in Aquarius. We will all experience a strong shift toward expressing our creative gifts and talents so we can reach our fullest human potential.

The message of this Nodal shift is to stop searching aimlessly for the right cause, for the right movement or for the right community to fill the emptiness inside (South Node in Aquarius), and focus on our Own creative genius (North Node in Leo)

The two rulers of the South Node – Uranus and Saturn – will be in trine throughout the month. The temptation to stay comfortably numb, to choose familiarity over possibility, to accept whatever the society is telling us to do needs to be transcended now. Now is the time to shine as an individual, to rediscover your passion and power. The world needs your uniquely creative gifts!

May

May 2nd Mercury turns direct at 24° Aries and the mental fog will lift slowly. The time has come to move ahead with your projects! Thanks to the conjunction with Uranus, your mind is highly lucrative, and your ideas very original. In the next two weeks make use of your brain as much as you can.

May 10th is an extremely important day, so make sure you mark it in your calendar. The Nodal axis shifts from the Virgo /Pisces axis to the Leo /Aquarius axis, more exactly the North Node of the Moon leaves Virgo and moves into Leo and the South Node leaves Pisces and moves into Aquarius. Last time we had the Nodes in Leo/Aquarius was from September 1998 to April 2000. Try to recall what happened then so you can get a feeling about what to expect in the next 1 year and a half.

In the same day we have a very powerful Full Moon at 20° Scorpio. The Full Moon is highly transformational and will bring positive changes especially for people with Scorpio rising or with planets or angles at 20° Scorpio or 20° Taurus. Pluto, the ruler of this Full Moon, makes favorable aspects with the this lunation (a sextile to the Moon and a trine to the Sun) which is highly beneficial. Plutonian energy is usually difficult to digest but this time we can make the best use of it.

Mercury links with Uranus for the last time around this date as well. Mercury has been concocting something with Uranus for a few weeks – it is highly likely that the Full Moon and the Nodal shift will activate it – you can expect remarkable breakthoughts and unexpected news around this date! If you have planets around 25° Aries the news will be about you! Expect the unexpected.

May 11th Mars is square Neptune and then trine Jupiter, while Mercury is trine Saturn. You can feel a blood rush and a desire to escape the boredom of everyday life. Thankfully, you won’t do anything silly as your mind is practical and focused on what makes sense.

May 15th Mercury enters Taurus reactivating the Sun/Mercury conjunction which took place on April 20th. If you started a new project around April 20th you will now gain more clarity about where the project is heading.

May 18th Saturn is trine Uranus. The transit will bring the much needed reassurance that we are on the right track with our efforts. Uranus wants progress but most of the time its erratic energy can be too much to handle. But thanks to the stabilizing energy of Saturn we will now have the comfort to move to unknown territories from a place of assurance and ease. People with 26° in Fire signs will especially benefit from this transit and if you have planets around 26° in Leo this is a time of remarkable and durable advancements.

May 19th Venus at 13° Aries opposes Jupiter at 13° Libra. This is a flamboyant transit – plan to go out, you will have a blast. Venus wants you to enjoy every little thing and Jupiter wants you to enjoy every little thing to the fullest – just make sure you don’t exaggerate 😉

May 20th Sun enters Gemini and the atmosphere will lighten up. We have 30 days to feel light and carefree, be curious and explore the world around us.

May 25th New Moon in Gemini at 4° and Venus square Pluto. The New Moon is unaspected so the Gemini energy will be expressed freely. This New Moon is great for learning and explorations of any kind. Plan a trip or watch a documentary on a topic you know nothing about. Time to forget about any opinions you “borrowed” from other people, from books, from the TV, and make your own instead. Explore life with a beginner’s mind.

May 28th Mars at 25° Gemini opposes Saturn at 25° Sagittarius. You can now feel a friction between the desire to explore the world in your terms and the need to obey the rules of the society. Take it lightly, just like a Gemini would do!

May 31st Mercury – now at the speed of light – is trine Pluto and your mental focus will skyrocket. Nothing can get in your way now as you are fully tuned in with your purpose.

The Astrology Of April 2017 – Love And Devotion

April is the month of love! We have a Full Moon in Libra (ruled by Venus) and a New Moon in Taurus (again, ruled by Venus). Moreover, Venus will turn direct on April 15th, giving us the green light for romance, relationships, money, personal values, beauty.

During the past six weeks, Venus asked us to have an honest look at our relationships, our possessions, our values, and check to see if they are still relevant. We are now ready to move forward in closer alignment with our true values. Venus turns direct close to Chiron at 26° Pisces, opening us to the healing power of love.

Four planets change direction in April, increasing their influence few days before and after their station:

  • Saturn turns retrograde on April 6th at 27° Sagittarius
  • Mercury turns retrograde on April 9th at 4° Taurus
  • Venus turns direct on April 15th at 26° Pisces
  • Pluto turns retrograde on April 20th at 19° Capricorn

With four planets changing direction, April will be a very intense month and we will experience everything to the fullest.

Let’s look at the major aspects

April

April 2nd Venus (Retrograde) will move back into Pisces – time to dive in again into the deep waters of our soul.

April 6th Saturn turns retrograde at 27° Sagittarius. Time to learn the gift of patience, discipline and endurance. Even if our progress towards our goals can slow down now,  the few months of Saturnian introspection will serve us well in the future.

April 7th Sun is opposite Jupiter triggering the Jupiter Pluto square. This is a very intense transit which can lead to power trips – moderation is required.

April 8th Venus is square Saturn and Sun is square Pluto.  These rather challenging squares will “push our buttons”  and ask us to make decisions about our relationships or about our personal values. Pluto wants us to face the truth, and deal with it.

April 9th Mercury starts its retrograde cycle at 4° Taurus. Mercury will station and turn direct on May 3rd. Mercury will be very close to Uranus during the last week of April and the first two weeks of May. This long transit favors innovative thinking and expressive communication. If you have planets around 25° Uranus you can have various breakthroughs during this period.

April 10th The Full Moon at 21° Libra will conjunct Jupiter and activate the Jupiter Pluto square. This is a highly eventful Full Moon. The Full Moon ruler, Venus is closely conjunct Chiron – we are asked again to open our hearts and be honest with ourselves. Jupiter and Pluto will tolerate no half measures.

April 13th Sun is conjunct Uranus at 24° Aries asking us to rebel and stand up for ourselves.

April 15th Venus turns direct , inviting us to complete our period of introspection and open our hearts to embrace the outside world again, guided by the lessons we have learned over the past six weeks.

April 19th Sun enters Taurus and in the same day Sun conjuncts Mercury . Mercury will start a new cycle at 0° Taurus, which is a very potent degree. The next 3 months Mercury cycle will teach us to focus our mind and be resilient against distractions.

April 20th Pluto turns retrograde. Take time to reflect on the Jupiter Pluto square and its lessons.

April 21st Mars enters Gemini and Venus squares Saturn again. By now, we should be totally ready for the change. The 3 Venus Saturn squares have been tough, but now we are stronger and wiser.

April 26th New Moon at 6° Taurus is rather unaspected. Venus, the New Moon ruler is still in a conjunction to Chiron, but is also applying a sextile to her lover Mars. Our heart should be healed by now. Time to start again as Venus enters Aries, the sign of new beginnings, immediately after the New Moon.

April 28th Venus is back in Aries and Mercury retrograde is conjunct Uranus. Time for passionate discussions and unexpected turns of events.

April 30th Saturn is square Chiron. This is the second of three Saturn–Chiron squares, representing society’s limiting belief system in conflict with the healing possibilities of Chiron. If we want to move to the next level we need to transcend the status quo. We are being invited to take a close look at own judgments and biases. You cannot heal the world, unless you heal yourself.

Why The Spring Equinox Is The Start Of A New Astrological Year

A new astrological season is about to come along. The Spring Equinox of 2017 – or the first day of Spring arrives on March 19th/20th (depending on your time zone).

The Sun will enter the first sign of the zodiac, Aries and mark a change of seasons as well as the start of the Astrological New Year.

In fact in many cultures The Spring Equinox is celebrated as the start of a new year. Spring is the time of year when the cycle of life, death, and rebirth is complete.

As plants bloom and new life returns, the theme of resurrection is ever present. For example, the Christian tradition of Easter is celebrated soon after the Sun moves into Aries.

Equinox literally means “equal night.” At the Spring Equinox, day and night are the same length.

springequinoxaries

And although most of us have already written our New Year’s Resolutions early January, NOW is the best time to start something new.

Aries (the first sign of the zodiac) definitely has the power to lead the way and is a powerful manifestor. That’s why Aries season is the best time for new beginnings, for expressing oneself and making bold moves.

Don’t throw away your resolutions. You wrote them just after the Winter Solstice, another important astrological date.

If the Winter Solstice (period just after Christmas and beginning of January) is the best time to conceptualize things and aim high (yes, Capricorn), the Spring Equinox and the start of a new Sun cycle is the best time to make these goals tangible and put them into action. So if you haven’t done much with your resolutions by now, no worries! Now is the time to bring them to the next level!

Let’s take some examples…

  • If early January you set the goal to find a new partner, the Spring Equinox is about getting clear about what kind of partner you want (maybe you met some interesting ‘prospects’ 😉 since then), where can you find him/her, and then go and get them!
  • If you set a goal to double your income this year, now is the time to decide what are you going to do about it: ask for a raise, get another job, become self-employed, go and invest in the stock market.
  • If your goal was to learn a new language, now is the time to enroll to a language class or download a language app and start practicing.

History gives us so many examples about the importance of the Spring Equinox in the ancient world. The Great Sphinx of Egypt and many other sites around the world were positioned facing the Rising Sun at the Spring Equinox.

These sites used to be power spots, meant to attune to the eternal, everflowing energy of the universe.

Ancient Celtic and Mediterranean people celebrated the Spring Equinox as a sacred marriage between God and Goddess, yin and yang, day and night.

otherworld

The reason why the Equinoxes are so powerful is that they are the only times of the year when the day is equal to the night, no matter where you are on Earth.

And it is only when the day and the night are equal, when the sacred feminine and sacred masculine come in the same doze, that life can emerge.

It is this perfect equilibrium that allows the universe to manifest itself.

The Sun’s journey throughout the course of the year signifies an universal journey, undertaken by people throughout the world, and throughout time – the journey to enlightenment.

Take your time now and put your attention on what you want to create. Take advantage of this natural life force that arises with the Spring Equinox and the start of the New Astrological Year. This is a chance to manifest your soul’s desires.

Your intentions are like seeds that if planted in fertile soil and taken care of, will grow over the next season, to bloom at the time of the Summer Solstice in June. The harvest of the fruit will come at the Autumn Equinox in September when you will get the chance to ponder over what you’ve done  -and reap what you’ve sown. And later in the dark of the winter months, you can finally take the time to reflect on what is really important for you and prepare yourself again for the Spring.

The new Astrological year 2017-2018 arrives on March 19th/20th and will end on March 19, 2018.

To get a glimpse into how the New Year is going to look like let’s have a look at the chart of the Spring Equinox. If we focus on the closest aspects we notice that:

  • The ruler of the Equinox, Mars, is in Taurus
  • Sun is at the mid-point between Venus and Chiron
  • Moon exactly conjuncts Saturn at27° in Sagittarius and both conjunct the Galactic Center
  • Jupiter square Pluto
  • Jupiter opposite Uranus

This New Astrological Year will be about emotional maturity (Moon/Saturn) and breaking through the conditioning (Jupiter, Uranus, Chiron, Pluto) so you can fully shine your light of your true self (Sun, Venus, Chiron). The world needs you and your gifts!

The New Astrological Year will be dominated by Mutable and Cardinal energy, signifying change and a desire to move to the “Next level”. When it comes to elements the new cycle will be dominated by Fire and Water – there is a very “conducting” energy in the air this year meaning that our creative pursuits will ask for expression.

We have a lack of Fixed and Air energy, meaning that objectivity and persistence can be challenged this new Sun cycle. We are so eager to try everything that we can lose our head and skip important steps.

If natally you have a lot of Air (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) or Fixed energy (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) this year will ask you to find creative ways to deal with the environment around you.

predictions-main

The very high concentration and Cardinal and Mutable energy will make us all restless – we will want to move forward and start new things.

The trouble is, we won’t have the discipline to focus on our initiatives because we have a surprising low amount of “Fixed” energy.

On top of this, Mercury “the quicksilver” is the most active planet of the month. March is a month of action, but wait for April to start setting foundations (in April we will have Sun, Mercury and Mars in Taurus adding some stability).

The first part of 2017 is high on ”Mutable” and “Cardinal” energy, because the “big planets” that change sings slowly are all in Mutable and Cardinal signs: North Node (in Virgo, Mutable), Jupiter (in Libra, Cardinal), Saturn (in Sagittarius, Mutable), Uranus (in Aries, Cardinal), Neptune (in Pisces, Mutable), Pluto (in Capricorn, Cardinal), Chiron (in Pisces, Mutable).

Things will start to slowly stabilize when firstly in May we will have the North Node changing sings and moving into Fixed Leo and few months later in October when Jupiter will move to Scorpio.

Those of you that natally have a lot of Mutable and Cardinal energy will feel at ease because the environment will be on the same frequency with you. You will miss though some opportunities for profound transformations because it won’t be anything out there to get you out of your comfort zone.

If natally you have a lot of Fixed energy, and less Mutable and Cardinal, the opposite stands true – you might not feel “at ease” because the world will miss the stability you dearly need, but in the same time you have plenty opportunities for growth and personal transformation.

What should you do during the Spring Equinox (hint: wait for after the Spring Equinox kicks in, not before).  Here some suggestions:

  • Light red candles and speak aloud your intentions for the Astrological New Year
  • Do a brain dump: get all your goals and TO DOs out of your mind and onto paper
  • Prioritize: What are your top 3 goals? And what is your Number 1 goal for this year? How does everything fit together?
  • Start something completely new. If you don’t have inspiration, throw a dart, or simply pick randomly and event to go to or a class to enroll (of course everything you do should be legal and moral…but hope you get what the expansive and “beginner’s mind” Aries energy stands for 😉
  • Enroll in a gym, take up a sport or find something to do with your body. Aries is a highly active sigh dominated by Mars and Mars loves to make use of energy
  • Plan a date with your partner or with your new romantic interest. Don’t forget Venus is very close in the sky 😉
  • Gather with your close friends around a fire to share stories, music and dance. Dance around the bonfire. Do a ritual to celebrate the symbolic rebirth of the world around you.

Astrology of March 2017– Happy New Astrological Year!

March is undoubtedly one of the most important and the most eventful  months of the year. Intense, almost electrifying, fresh and exciting, March will bring something new in our life no matter our astrological signature.  We have the Spring /Autumn equinox which brings the beginning of a new solar cycle, we have the 1st New Moon after the Equinox which will kick start the New Astrological year, we have Sun conjunct Venus bringing a new Venus synodic cycle, we have Venus retrograde, we have the 2nd Jupiter Uranus opposition and we have the 2nd Jupiter Pluto square…just to mention the major aspects.

march

Let’s have a look at what the stars have in store for us this month:

March start with a lovely Sun Neptune conjunction on 1st of March.  Our imagination will be heightened during this transit, so use this time to explore your talents and creativity and find your own sense of peace.

On March 2nd we have the 2nd Jupiter Uranus opposition. This opposition is extremely intense –  we will likely feel like it is “Now or never” and we’ve been given the last chance to break free of limitations. Although we may feel we cannot wait any longer, keep in mind that this is only the 2nd opposition between Jupiter and Uranus. We will have the “final act” of this transit later this year.

4th of March is one of the big dates of the year. Venus stations retrograde at 13° Aries, signaling a re-evaluation of our attitudes towards love, money, and personal values. Soon after Venus turns retrograde, Mercury conjuncts Neptune adding to the general confusion. Do not fear the Venus retrograde cycle – Venus will only bring to our awareness those things that needs to be reexamined. If we’ve been avoiding to make some decisions, it is likely that we will make them during the Venus retrograde.  But these decisions, especially those made before 25th of March will only help us prepare for the good things that WILL come after.

On the 6th of March Sun is conjunct Mercury at 16° Pisces.  Our communication will become empathetic and compassionate, and we will feel an impulse to express the more creative side of our psyche.

On March 9th Mars enters Taurus. Mars in Taurus will be in mutual reception with Venus in Aries. The two lovers are now in complicity, learning  from the other’s actions and bringing the best in each other.

The Full Moon in Virgo takes place on 12th of March at 22°. The Full Moon is opposite Chiron and Mercury and square Saturn. This is one of the rather challenging  Full Moons and will require a close examination of who we really are. We are being asked again to be disciplined and take responsibility for our lives. Nobody can help us but us.

On 13th of March Mercury enters Aries bringing a boost of enthusiasm and fresh ideas.  Communication becomes less foggy and more direct.

On March 14th Sun conjuncts Chiron and 3 days later on March 17th Sun squares Saturn. We can heal our wounds if we take responsibility for them and do the necessary work on ourselves.

On the 18th of March Mercury is conjunct Venus at 9° Aries. The conjunction also trines the Moon in Sagittarius. This is one of the sweetest days when our communication can become extremely affectionate and persuasive – mark your calendars if you have a presentation to give or if you want to confess your feelings to your crush 😉 – those of us with planets between 4°- 9° in Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) are especially favored.

Happy new solar year! On the 19th of March Sun’s ingress into Aries will mark the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and Autumn Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere. Confidence and energy will rise as we will feel more optimistic about life and about the future.

Between 23rd and 24th of March Mercury in Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn and then opposes Jupiter in Libra. These are highly dynamic aspects– conversations can easily get heated but also new ideas can emerge out of this cosmic chaos.

On the 25th of March Sun is meeting Venus retrograde in a so called “inferior conjunction” which basically means Venus is in between the Sun and the Earth. This conjunction, which happens in the middle of her retrograde journey, will officially start a new Venus synodic cycle. I really love this aspect and I believe it is one of the most important aspects of the year. Not only Venus starts a new cycle, but the conjunction takes place immediately after the Equinox and just before the first New Moon of the astrological year. We have a new cycle of the Sun, a new cycle of Venus, AND a New Moon.

2017 will be the YEAR OF LOVE, undoubtedly. Those of us with planets or angles around 4° in Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) will especially be blessed with love this year. For all of us this new solar cycle will bring something new in what Venus stands for: romance, relationships, beauty, money and possessions, values. Anything is possible now: a new love, a new source of income – a door will open and Venus will bring her gifts. People with Taurus or Libra rising will also benefit from this aspect.

On the 26th of March Mercury is conjunct Uranus at 23° Aries bringing some exciting (and unexpected!) news.

27th of March marks the start of a new astrological cycle with the New Moon at 7° in Aries. The New Moon is conjunct Venus, and the ruler of the New Moon, Mars, makes positive aspects to Neptune and Pluto. This is an extremely dynamic and New Moon – Jupiter is only few minutes away from a perfect square to Pluto. We have Venus, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto all activated (of course together with the Sun and the Moon) – expect DYNAMITE.

On the 30th of March we have the mighty Jupiter Pluto square. We are now in the middle of the storm – the 2nd aspect in a series of three is the most intense because both planets are retrograde and their focus is crystal clear. This is an  “all or nothing” transit –major decisions will be made now. Jupiter and Pluto are in a way the most powerful planets – Jupiter “the king of all gods the sky” and Pluto “the king of the underworld” are in the midst of their epic battle that will only end at the end of the year when the two will meet for the last time for the final confrontation. It shall be seen who wins and who loses.

The month ends with Mercury’s ingress in the sign of the Bull on the 31st of March. Our ideas will become less erratic and our communication will become more concrete.

The Astrology Of February 2017 – Listen To Your Intuition. Take Action. Put Your Inner Guidance Into Motion

February is a month of profound spiritual transformation and insight, marked by a Lunar and a Solar Eclipse, by a Pisces stellium and by the activity of Jupiter which will also turn retrograde on the 6th of February.

The Lunar Eclipse on the 25of of February is the last eclipse on the Virgo / Pisces axis. In the past 18 months the North Node in Virgo has been teaching us to get real, bring order to chaos and know our self-worth.

The Solar Eclipse in Leo will mark a new series of eclipses on the Leo / Aquarius axis. The focus will shift from being of service to others to bringing ourselves out there and showing the world what we got (The North Node will officially enter Leo on the 10th of May, so we still have some time to finish any unfinished Virgo business).

February kicks off with a square between Mercury at 23° Capricorn and Jupiter at 23° Libra on the 2nd of February. This is a gregarious aspect making us want to talk…and talk, and talk and share our ideas with the others.

february-astro-butterfly

On February 3rd Venus enters Aries. In Aries, Venus is very assertive and in a way exactly the opposite of Venus in Pisces. In the next weeks we will learn a great deal about what Venus in Aries stands for, because Venus will turn retrograde on the 4th of March at 13° Aries and will spend quite a bit of time in this sign.  I will write an article about the significance of this Venus retrograde closer to the date.

On the 6th of February Jupiter turns retrograde at 23° Libra. Jupiter will stay retrograde until 9th of June so we will have 4 months of philosophical and spiritual introspection, especially in the area of relationships.

Mercury enters Aquarius on the 7th of February and our communication and ideas will become more unconventional.

On the 10th of February we have the Full Moon & Partial Lunar Eclipse at 22° Leo. The Eclipse will be visible form most parts of the world, including Europe and the Americas (it won’t be visible in Australia and New Zealand  though).

Astrologically this Full Moon and Eclipse is truly special, because it is supported by a mystic rectangle (Moon 22° Leo, Sun 22° Aquarius, Uranus 21° Aries and Jupiter 23° Libra). This mystic rectangle will manifest the Jupiter Uranus opposition energy so expect an extremely dynamic  time.

Saturn is beautifully positioned in a Fire grand trine together with the Moon and Uranus (and sextile Sun and Jupiter) making sure that any tension emerging from the Jupiter Uranus opposition is channeled into strength and determination. This Full Moon is about self-expression.  Creativity runs very high and if you have personal planets or angles around 22° in Fixed signs your creative expressions can reach all times high. This Full Moon is a good time to do what you really enjoy doing – focus on your hobbies and what makes YOU happy.

On 11th of February  Sun trine Jupiter will bring personal wellbeing and abundance. We will simply feel better about ourselves.  Sun and Jupiter are in Air signs favoring communication and any other pursuit of the mind. If you have planets around 23° in Libra and Aquarius OR if you have The Sun, Moon, Venus, Mercury, AC or MC at 23° Gemini, you will really win the stars lottery, because the Sun and Jupiter will form a grand trine fully supporting your creative expressions.

Sun enters Pisces  on 18th-19th of February and few days later connects with the South Node of the Moon, confronting us for the last time with our “old self” and inviting us to finally separate from our false hopes and illusions.

On 21st of February  Mercury at 22° Aquarius is trine Jupiter at 22° Libra. This is a great day to give a presentation or have an important meeting. We are now very persuasive and contagiously optimistic. Just like the Sun / Jupiter trine – if you have planets around 23° in Air signs this will be an excellent day for you.

On 22nd of February  Mars at 18° Aries is square Pluto at 18° Capricorn and our temper will tend to be shorter and we will be more likely to get into arguments. Mars in a tense aspect to Pluto in Cardinal signs is no joke.  Are we going to set some healthy personal boundaries this time or are we going to give in to the irresistible pull of the unknown? Mars in Aries is brave and  fearless and he can bring to the surface a conflict that needs our attention. We now have the chance to achieve a resolution.

The New Moon and powerful Solar eclipse in at 8° Pisces occurs on the 25th or 26th of February, depending where you live. The Eclipse will be visible from South West Africa and from most of South America.

The Eclipse will be a remarkable spiritual experience. The Sun and the Moon are “sandwiched” in the sky between the South Node of the Moon and Neptune. Our intuition will be heightened and we will feel in tune with every little thing around us, with every sensation, every feeling.  Music and any type of art can now become mystical experiences. Pisceans,  Pisces rising people, as well as all of us with planets around 8° in Pisces will feel the energy of this eclipse very strongly.  Mercury enters Pisces just before the New Moon so we will have a Pisces stellium at the time of this unique astrological event (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Neptune, South Node and Chiron).

The month will end on a high energy, positive note. Between 26th and 28th  of February Mars will be very active in the sky, firstly applying a conjunction to Uranus, and then an opposition to Jupiter, activating again the Jupiter Uranus opposition. This will be a restless and wild time. Enjoy the ride but make sure you fasten your seat belt 😉

February is one of the most favorable months of the year, beautifully supported by highly beneficial astrological configurations such as grand trines and mystic rectangles – make sure you make the best out if it!

Native American Full Moons

The Native American Full Moon names date back to when Native Americans lived in what is now the northern and eastern United States.

The Algonquin Full Moon names, and variations used by many other Native American tribes, are poetically descriptive of the seasons and of nature’s gifts. The indigenous people kept track of the seasons by giving distinctive names to each recurring Full Moon.

The names they had for the Full Moons are related to nature and the seasons, hunting, fishing, and farming. They also reflect the harsh climate of the Northern parts of the continent, and the traditions and lifestyle of its first people.

January – The Wolf Moon

The Wolf Moon is the first Full Moon of the year, when we are taking the first step into the year guided by the spirit of the Wolf. January was called the Wolf Moon by the Algonquians because the wolves are out in the deep snows and under the bright light of the Full Moon this time of year, searching for pray to slake their hunger.

Arapaho of the Great Plains called the January Full Moon “When Snow Blows Like Spirits In The Wind”, Passamaquoddy “Whirling Wind Moon”, the Haida of Alaska called it “Bear Hunting Moon” and the Zuni of the Southwest, “When Limbs Of Trees Are Broken By Snow”.

Even nowadays the wolves’ howling is associated with the moon. Just like the wolf who is designed to handle the brutality of the cold very well, so can we use the resourcefulness of the wolf to go for what we want, with all force and without fear.  January is that time of the year to start again and tune into the cycles of nature.

February – The Snow Moon

The Snow Moon marks the time of the year when in the northeastern regions the heaviest of snows fall. Because the tribes had now more time to spend inside their homes, the Snow Moon was a time for rituals, fasting and personal purification. Ancestors are now honored by passing on their stories to the younger generations.

Hunting becomes very difficult, that’s why some other Native American tribes called the February Full Moon the Hunger Moon. Other references to the weather were made by the Arapaho who called it “Frost Sparkling In The Sun”. To the Lakota, February was the “Moon When The Trees Crack Because Of The Cold;” and to the Wishram of Washington and Oregon, “Shoulder To Shoulder Around The Fire Moon.”

February is a great time to spend time in family or in the community and share stories and pass on the traditions. And although snow is still abundant this time of the year, February brings with it the hope that Spring is not far.

March – The Worm Moon

March was called the Worm Moon because earthworms start to surface at this time of the year, signaling the end of winter and the start of spring. The ground begins to soften and with the reappearance of earthworms, the birds return to their homes.

Other names reflected the springtime activity of the birds and animals – for the Arapaho, March was “Buffalo Dropping Their Calves,” for the Omaha it was “Moon When Geese Come Home,” and for the Haida it was the “Noisy Goose Moon.”

March brings the Spring Equinox and the official start of the year. Now is the time to celebrate nature’s rebirth and to free oneself from anything that hinders progress.

April – The Pink Moon

The Pink Moon symbolizes the sprouting of seed and the explosion of pink flowers – the moss pink, or the wild ground phlox was one of the first flowers to bloom with the arrival of the spring.

For the Abenaki, the April Full Moon was the “Sugar Maker Moon” to the Arapaho, “Ice Breaking In The River” the Cheyenne called it “Moon When The Geese Lay Eggs” and the Cree of the Northern Plains and Canada, “Gray Goose Moon”.

Now that spring is fully here, it is time to spend time in the nature and listen to the wisdom the plants and animals have to impart.

May – The Flower Moon

In May the fields are covered with flowers and the whole world explodes in color, showing the beauty of the Great Spirit. The legends says that flowers dance in the meadows under the light of the Full Moon at this time of the year.

The Apache called May “Season When The Leaves Are Green” the Cheyenne, “Moon When The Horses Get Fat” the Choctaw, “Mulberry Moon”.

May is a good time to focus on relationships and commitments, both in spirit and love. When preparing for commitment, asking the Creator and the ancestors to provide blessings and guidance can be especially helpful right now.

June – The Strawberry Moon

June is the time to pick strawberries, now at their ripest and fullest flavor and juice. It is said that picking them by moonlight will insure bigger bounty next season.

In the summer months families used to camp near a lake or river. References to the bounty of nature were made by the Choctaw who called  the Full Moon of June “Blackberry Moon” and by Lakota “Moon When The Berries Are Good.” Animal activity was also mentioned by Potawatomi who called June “Moon Of The Turtle” and the Omaha, who called it “When The Buffalo Bulls Hunt The Cows”.

June is mid-year, so it’s a great time to review what we have already done, and to plan for what’s left to do.

July – The Buck Moon

July was called the Buck Moon because the bucks grow new antlers at this time of year. By July, the bucks start rubbing their fully-grown antlers against trees to rub off the dead velvet material which covered them while growing (in winter and spring).

This full Moon was also known as the Thunder Moon, because thunderstorms are  frequent during this month. The Sioux of the Great Plains called the July Full Moon “Red Blooming Lilies Moon” the Winnebago of the Great Lakes, “Corn-Popping Moon;” the Wishram, “Salmon Go Up Rivers In A Group Moon” and the Zuni, “When Limbs Of Trees Are Broken By Fruit”.

July is the month when our physical strength reaches its peak, therefore it is a good time to build or repair something around the house. It is not only our body that is stronger than ever. July is also a good time to opt to go for a vision quest or strengthen our spirit by fasting or participating to a sweat lodge ceremony.

August – The Sturgeon Moon

The Native American tribes knew that the sturgeon of the Great Lakes was most easily caught during this Full Moon, hence they called the Full Moon in  August the “Sturgeon Moon”..

The Assiniboine of the Northern Plains called the August Full Moon “Black Cherries Moon” the Ponca, “Corn Is In The Silk Moon;” and the Shawnee, “Plum Moon”

Just like rivers are filled with schools of fish, providing nourishment for the body, our Spirit is ready now to receive the abundance that it deserves.

September – The Corn Moon

September marked the time of the year when corn was approaching harvest. The Native Americans used the luminosity of the moon – now brighter than ever – to harvest their bounty. The Corn Moon was the best time to finish all the harvest chores.

The Cherokee who called it “Nut Moon” in reference to the harvest, while the month’s natural changes were mentioned by the Assiniboine who called September “Yellow Leaf Moon”, the Cheyenne called it “Crying Grass Moon” while the Omaha “Moon When The Deer Paw The Earth”.

The harvesting of the crop is a good metaphor for harvesting one’s sprit. September’s Full Moon is a good time to clean and clear up any issues in one’s life. Rituals to invite forgiveness and healing of old wounds are especially beneficial now.

October – The Hunters Moon

October represents the onset of prime hunting season. Now that the deer are fattened, it is time to hunt and store provisions for the long winter ahead. After the fields have been reaped, hunters can see more easily the animals, which have come out to glean the fields.

Other Native American names for October reflect cooler temperatures and leaf shedding: for the Abenaki, October Full Moon was “Leaf Falling Moon” for the Cheyenne, “Water Begins To Freeze On Edge Of Streams Moon” for the Cree, “Moon The Birds Fly South”.

The Hunters Moon is a reminder to take care of our body and spirit and prepare it for the cold winter ahead. This is a good time to align ourselves with the nature and conduct rituals to find your personal animal guide or totem.

November – The Beaver Moon

For both the colonists and the Algonquin tribes, this was the time of the year to set beaver traps, to ensure a supply of warm furs for the winter.

Most other Native American names make reference to the increasingly cold temperatures: the Choctaw called the November Full Moon “Frost Moon” the Comanche, “Heading To Winter Moon” the Abenaki, “Freezing River Maker Moon” the Creek of the Southeast, “Moon When The Water Is black with Leaves” and the Wishram, “Snowy Mountains In The Morning Moon”.

November is a wonderful time to look for protection from whatever interferes with our spiritual evolution. The meditative atmosphere of the month and the clarity the Full Moon brings, favor a better understanding of our subconscious thoughts and dreams, and invite us to believe in them as if they were real. The Beaver Full Moon also gives us the diligence to stick to our goals.

December – The Cold Moon

Coming full circle, we find ourselves again in the realm of winter. This is the month of some of the coldest, longest and darkest nights.

The December Full Moon is also known as “Big Winter Moon” by Choctaw, or “Sun Has Traveled Home To Rest Moon” by the Zuni. The Cheyenne called December “Moon When The Wolves Run Together” and the Winnebago, “Big Bear’s Moon”.

In the cold temperatures in December the fires are blazing day and night. Surrounded by the warmth of family and of our community, we are reminded once again that we are not alone as the year comes to a close.

The Astrology of January 2017 – Full Steam Ahead

January will be a highly active month. Starting with 8th of January when Mercury turns direct ALL planets will be in direct motion. It is only once a year the skies are blessing us with a Karma-free window of opportunity, so make sure you take advantage of it. All planets in direct motion will  propel everything we start during this time frame forward at a high speed.

From 15th to 18th of January and from 29th to 31st even the North Node is direct  – make sure you mark the dates in your calendar – this is the time of the year when you have full freedom to manifest your future.

January is dominated by Mars, the most active planet of the month which will also enter its own sign Aries at the time of the New Moon on the 27th of January. The martian energy combined with the pragmatic Capricorn energy AND all planets in direct motion make January an excellent time to start new ventures.

january-2017

Let’s have a look at the most important transits of the month:

  • On the 2nd of January Venus enters Pisces, the sign of her exaltation. In Pisces, Venus is dreamy, imaginative and has high romantic ideals. This is an important Venus transit: usually Venus spends around 4 weeks in a sign, but because she’s now moving slower than usual – culminating with a retrogradation which will start in March – Venus will spend quite a bit of time in Pisces.  More exactly,  from 2nd of January until 3rd of February, and then again from the 3rd of April until 29th of April. We will have almost 2 months of Venus in Pisces energy. Venus will enters the Rx zone on the 30th of January.
  • On the 4th of January Mercury retrograde re-enters Sagittarius to spend one more week in the sign of the Philosopher. This short stay will reactivate some discussions or projects we started at the end of November, beginning of December.
  • 6th of January marks the yearly meeting of the Sun with Pluto, at 17° in Capricorn. People born around 6th of January will have a highly transformative year ahead. But because Pluto is so strong and intense, all of us will encounter some sort of Plutonian themes – such as power, transformation around this date.
  • On 7th of January Venus is conjunct the South Node of the Moon and opposes the North Node of the Moon. This will be a very important day in matters of the heart, especially if you have planets at 4° in Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces).
  • On the 8th of January Mercury goes direct marking the yearly time frame when all planets are direct – this window of opportunity lasts until 6th of February.
  • On the 10th -11th of January Sun squares Uranus and then Jupiter, activating the Jupiter Uranus opposition. Some themes of the Jupiter Uranus opposition (the most important transit of the year) will start to emerge around this date.
  • Mercury re-enters Capricorn at the time of the Full Moon on the 12th of January at 22° in Cancer. Time to manifest the projects we’ve started at the time of the New Moon on the 29th of November.
  • On the 16th-17th of January Mars activates Chiron and Saturn. Time for a reality check! This is a rather challenging transit because Mars and Saturn are very different. While Mars wants to assert himself “Look at me!” and conquer new territories, Saturn is the “ummm, maybe not” severe teacher who sets the boundaries and tells Mars what he is allowed to do and what not. Chiron is literally the KEY to transcend this never ending dynamic. With awareness we can have both: assertion and discipline to turn our initiatives into reality. Remember, we are the only ones who can set limits on what we can do.
  • Sun enters Aquarius on the 19th of January and our idealistic natures are stimulated. Some fresh Air energy is now more than welcome.
  • On the 25th of January Venus will conjunct Chiron at 21° Pisces releasing some old wounds from our hearts.
  • The New Moon in Aquarius takes place on the 27th of January, and in the same time Mars enters its domicile Aries. This will be a highly active new Moon – time to make some bold moves 😉
  • On the 29th Mercury is conjunct Pluto at 17° Capricorn – this time we won’t escape those serious conversations we’ve been postponing since Mercury went retrograde, less than a degree from Pluto.
  • January ends with a Mercury Uranus square on the 31st again activating the infamous Jupiter Uranus opposition. We will get now even more clues about what to expect from 2017.

The Astrology of 2017 – A Brave New World

Astrologically 2017 will be a positive and progressive year. For most of us, 2017 will be a better year than 2016. 2017 will be marked by the Jupiter Uranus opposition, which will bring excitement and hope, and in the same time will ask us to let go of the past to move toward a brighter tomorrow.

2017 will continue the theme of change that started a couple of years ago when Saturn and the North Node moved into Sagittarius and Virgo, but it will be less chaotic and a bit more pragmatic.

In 2015 and 2016 we had Saturn in Sagittarius, The North Node AND Jupiter in Virgo, Neptune and Chiron in Pisces. No more of this chaos! In 2017 we will have less of the excess mutable energy which made 2016 so imbalanced. With the North Node ingress into Leo, of Jupiter into Scorpio and of Saturn into Capricorn (its domicile) the outlook of 2017 is definitely more balanced.

In 2017 we will also say goodbye to the Saturn/Neptune square that has been fooling with our hopes, dreams and general sense of direction in the last year. In 2017,  we will want to do something about those dashed hopes and dreams. As our new reality finally begins to emerge, we will feel ready to act upon it. If we don’t like what we see, in 2017 we will either take action to change it or at least find new ways to deal with it.

Marked by mutable, cardinal, fire and water energy,  metaphorically speaking, 2017 will be a quest for a new spiritual paradigm. In 2017 we will continue to question the status quo. We will no longer accept a society in which a few control the fate of the many, a society that excludes and discriminates and where the individual is just “another brick in the wall”.

But there is a danger here. Because we will be so much into spirituality and what is not to be seen, but felt with the heart, the risk is to lose our common sense. 2017 will be all about emotions, about inspiration, about jumping from one thing to the next in our quest to find meaning and fulfill those dreams we were too fearful to pursue. In 2017, we can easily lose our cool and even get fanatical about our version of the reality.

If there is one thing I recommend doing in 2017 when things go off track is this: go in nature. Meditate. Do something to keep yourself grounded and in the present moment. Build a shed or why not, a house, try landscape architecture or plant some new flowers or vegetables in your garden. Start crafting. Anything that is a combination of planning and researching, and then actually doing whatever is that thing you have planned for, will really help each one of us deal with 2017 in a healthy way.

Love and relationships will be another trademark of this year.

Relationships will be in focus thanks to Jupiter opposite Uranus on the relationship Aries / Libra axis. We will also have Venus, the planet of love and relationships, retrograde in March and April. This important Venus cycle will bring to surface all unfinished businesses related to relationships of all kinds.

Romantic love and dating will be a highlight of 2017.

Firstly, the North Node of the Moon will move into Leo . After we did a lot of self-work in the last 1 year and a half when the North Node was in Virgo, now it’s time to have fun, express ourselves and go for whatever our heart desires. The North Node enters Leo in the same time with the Full Moon in Scorpio, more exactly, on the 10th of May. This cosmic reset is going to be intense!

Secondly, many of the New and Full Moons of 2017 are accompanied by some “love aspects”. Only to mention two of them: At the time of the New Moon in Aries on the 25th of March we also have Sun conjuncts Venus. This is the 1st New Moon of the Astrological year and the most important one, because it will set the tone for 2017. To have Sun and Moon conjunct Venus with the New Moon is just magnificent. In October we have another stellar event: Venus will conjunct Mars in the same time with the Full Moon in Aries. This is going to be HOT! Mark the date: 5th of October 😉 With so much fresh Aries energy some of us will experience love at first sight and completely throw caution to the wind.

But because thankfully Jupiter is in Libra most of us will fell a mix of the two energies: Libra-like “relationships and commitment come first” and Aries-like “I want some fresh romance to feel young and alive” – and this will make us want to keep our relationships fresh, in addition to honoring true love.

The top 7 astrological events of 2017 are:

  • Jupiter Uranus opposition – on 2nd of March and again on the 27th of September (the last aspect in a sequence of three) – which will move things forward, bringing progress and unexpected outcomes, especially in the areas of relationships, negotiations and deal-making.
  • Jupiter square Pluto – on the 30th March and on the 4th of August (the last square in a sequence of three) – calling for fairness, and asking us to stick to our values, and in the same time try to fit them in the existing structures. The Jupiter Pluto cycles activate and push forward generational themes. In essence, Jupiter / Pluto square speaks of what Darwin called “survival of the fittest”. The fittest will not only survive, but will also thrive in a Jupiter / Pluto environment.
  • Venus retrograde – from 5th of March until 15th of April, marking a phase of transformation in relationships.
  • North Node ingress into Leo – on the 10th of May.
  • Saturn trine Uranus – on the 18th of May and on the 11th of November (the last trine in a sequence of three) – a harmonious and constructive aspect which will reward adaptability and ultimately lead to sustainable progress.
  • Jupiter ingress into Scorpio – on the 10th of October, shifting the beneficial energy of Jupiter from relationships to intimacy and “other people’s resources”, either physical, intellectual, emotional or spiritual.
  • Saturn ingress into Capricorn – on the 19th of December, and the real change of the world structures will begin. Saturn is in domicile in Capricorn and he knows what he is doing in his home sign.

Let’s not forget about the yearly eclipses. The Moon and Solar eclipses, or turning points, will take place in February and August. In 2017 we will witness a  shift of the eclipse cycle from Virgo and Pisces to, for the most part, in Leo and Aquarius.

In 2017 we have 2 moon eclipses, 1st one on the 10th of February in Leo. The 2nd Moon Eclipse is on the 7th of August in Aquarius, inviting us to embrace and honor our uniqueness.

The solar eclipses will take place on the 25th of February (the last eclipse in Pisces!) and on the 21st of August in Leo. The last solar eclipse will be an extremely powerful one as it occurs at 29° Leo in close conjunction with the fixed star Regulus. This Sun eclipse will be visible across all the United States (this is the 1st eclipse visible in the US since 1979!) Something is definitely going to happen in the world (US especially in focus) around this date, so mark your calendars: 21st of August.

The Mercury retrograde periods (make sure you put them in your calendar) are:

  • 1st to 8th of January –  in Capricorn / Sagittarius
  • 9th of April to 2nd of May – in Taurus / Aries
  • 12th of August to 5th of September – in Virgo / Leo
  • 2nd of December to 22nd of December – in Sagittarius

Every year comes with three of four Mercury retrograde periods, but what is a bit different in 2017 is that almost every Mercury retrograde will effect two signs (instead of one). We will be asked to integrate some practicality into our creativity with both the fire and earth being emphasized.

To recap, 2017 will be a very interesting and progressive year. Although this won’t be the case for everyone (some of us will always have challenging progressions, or some transits will trigger some delicate points in our chart) there is definitely a sense of optimism and hope which will help us get though almost everything , despite any obstacles that may arise along the way.
