Saturn Conjunct Pluto – Apocalypse NOT

On January 12th, 2020 we had one of the most important transits of the decade (yes, of the decade!): Saturn is conjunct Pluto in Capricorn.

I’ve already “warned” you in previous reports about Saturn conjunct Pluto. But perhaps you haven’t heard of it yet – and that’s simply because there’s not enough talk about this.

If you ask me, the Saturn-Pluto conjunction should definitely be in the news, because it’s indeed VERY important.

saturn-conjunct-pluto

I get tons of emails and messages from people worried about how this conjunction may affect them. And I always reply with “don’t worry” because, indeed, we should never fear any transit out there. Everything that happens in the skies, happens for a very important reason.

Saturn Conjunct Pluto In Capricorn – The Transit Of The Decade

But there’s much more to it than “don’t worry about Saturn conjunct Pluto”. Saturn conjunct Pluto is indeed a monumental transit. This is not your usual Mercury retrograde. This is not even the once-in-a-year Jupiter ingress into a new sign. This is a once-in-30-to-40-years monumental shift that will profoundly influence every single one of us.

The last Saturn-Pluto conjunction in 1982 forever changed the face of the world; this conjunction occurred in Libra, the sign of balance and justice. In the last 4 decades, topics like gender balance, economic justice, and political correctness have come to the forefront for us to deal with.

The Saturn-Pluto conjunction in 2020 is in Capricorn, the sign of rules, hierarchies, and yes, politics. History is being written in front of our eyes. The “old rules” are rewritten for modern times. And this is just the beginning.

Saturn conjunct Pluto is not the end. Saturn conjunct Pluto is the beginning. Every time two planets meet in a conjunction, a new cycle begins

That’s why there’s no apocalypse to come. This is just the beginning.

The current Saturn-Pluto conjunction is not a static moment in time. It doesn’t come one day, and leave the next. It is not an ‘outside event’ or something that you have to deal with temporarily. It is a reflection of where your whole life is at the moment

Are you happy with your life? This means you made some good decisions 38 years ago, when we had the last Saturn-Pluto conjunction.

And if your life is not where you want it to be, you now have the chance to change that. Because yes, Saturn conjunct Pluto is a new beginning. And in the light of new beginnings, everything is possible.

What kind of new beginning?

Saturn and Pluto are the most difficult planets in astrology. We all dread our Saturn and Pluto transits. If you have natal Saturn or Pluto aspects, these are perhaps the most difficult aspects in your chart. They require the most work.

But why do you think it is like that? Do you think the Universe is just angry with you and wants to punish you with difficult aspects? With difficult transits? Why would it do that?

It’s true that Saturn and Pluto feel difficult. Your birth was difficult. Growing up is difficult. Relationships are difficult. Having to provide for yourself and your family is difficult. Learning from mistakes is difficult.

But it’s worth it. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be here.

Saturn And Pluto – Blessings In Disguise

Saturn and Pluto are not the bad guys we’ve been led to believe they are.

Yes, Saturn is all about rules. But what would this world be without direction? Yes, Saturn is the lord of time. But what would this world be without reflection? Saturn is the lord of karma, but what would this world be without consequences?

Pluto is the God of the Underworld. But what would day be without night? What would light be, without shadow? What would life be without death?

Ultimately, we all have to face our fears and limitations, because they are part of life. This is just how life works.

But we don’t always have the chance to do something about our fears and limitations.

Thankfully, sometimes the Universe aligns in such a way that allows change to happen.

The Saturn-Pluto conjunction will bring a deep restructuring at the core of our being. You just cannot retreat in a bubble and wait for January 13, 2020 (the day after the exact aspect). As a new world is about to emerge, a new you is about to come about.

Unlike other Saturn-Pluto conjunctions (and most outer planetary aspects) Saturn will conjunct Pluto only once. This is not the usual 3-part transit. So you won’t have a whole year to deal with it.

You deal with it only once. So you’ll have to give it your best shot, because there’s no 2nd Saturn-Pluto conjunction.

Saturn is the last planet visible with the naked eye. Saturn is the great teacher. Saturn is the barrier between the material world as we know it, and the possibilities that lay beyond.

Pluto is the last planet in our solar system. Pluto is the final frontier. No one knows what’s beyond Pluto.

But what we do know, is that when Saturn and Pluto join forces, there’s nothing they cannot achieve.

When you learn what Saturn and Pluto really want from you, you become resilient. And then it’s nothing that you cannot do. There’s nothing that you cannot become.

You can run away from Saturn and Pluto’s taught lessons, OR you can embrace them.

When we run away from Saturn and Pluto, we don’t only run away from problems. We run away from possibilities.

How would your life look like if you’d stop hiding? How would you feel if you’d truly open up to life? Would your career be more fulfilling? Would your relationships be more loving? Would you finally feel at ease with the world?

When we can handle Saturn and Pluto we can handle anything. And finally start living.

    1. Dear astrologer, this date 12-Jan-2020, it was the 1st day the taal volcano erupted and our house devastated with ashfalls and 500 earthquakes.. saturn and pluto located in my 4th house means home (capricorn).. No wonder it happen to me.. I just read this article of yours.. 3:32 pm 30-January-2020… I’m jut amazed, what a co-incidence…

  1. This is happening in my second house. Looks like Pluto will be there for the next 20 years?! Ill be in my 60s by the time it exits.

    1. Yes, it is possible, because Pluto takes approximately 20 years to transit a sign or a house. You will experiece restructuring in 2nd house topics: self worth, assets, earned income

      1. Actually due to its eliptical orbit Pluto can spend between 12 to 30 years in a sign, the longest in Taurus the shortest in Scorpio

      2. yes, that’s right, that’s why the previous Saturn-Pluto cycle has been unusually long (37 years)

    2. Natal chart is Saturn in Aries in 12TH house & Pluto in Virgo in 6Th house….any insight welcome. Thanks!

    3. I have the same Saturn Pluto conjunction in my 1 st house in natal chart with libra ascendant

      1. So do i!
        Natal 1stHouse Stellium:
        Jupiter @0°Scorpio…
        Pluto @24°Libra..
        Saturn AND Mars @15°Libra
        (Ascendant @9°Libra)
        ~🌟~
Transit Pluto & Saturn were on my natal Moon @18°Capricorn…South Node@13°Cap…I.C @11°Cap
        ~🌙~
(I was born on total full
        BLOOD MOON ECLIPSE)
        My sun 14°Cancer conjunct Sirius

  2. This conjunction is within half a degree of my Descendant. And the Sun is also within a degree of this transit on the 12th January. Seems significant…. I might be signing up 🙂

  3. My 9th house 23° Cap moon can feel this already. My whole world is being shaken all the way to the foundations
    Bring on the positive change🙏

  4. this conjunction will happen in my 8th house and at the same time will be in opposition with my natal Saturn and Mars in 2th house. What does it mean?

  5. I was born under a Pluto-Saturn conjunction. I was so pleased to read “when you can handle Saturn and Pluto, you can handle anything”… O really have been dealing with it all my life… and, in a sense… I feel like I am about to reborn. It is going to act as a rebirth for me, because this was the same conjunction that happened when I was born. I feel like whatever this transit will bring, I was born to do this!
Thank you so much for your work, I truly admire your perspective and it’s a breath of fresh air to see an analysis of Saturn and Pluto that is not so stereotypical that always depicts these two as malefics. I’m with you on this! We should, indeed, never fear any transit whatsoever! Just today I was saying that to a client born with a Saturn-Venus conjunction in the 12th house… some things are there just make us realize things. Once we find out what, we can really start enjoying life!
    Blessings! ❤

    1. From someone who was born with a Pluto Stellium in the 12th house, the 12th isn’t as much scary as it’s more about bringing what’s hidden (your unconscious) to the surface. Embrace it and take it as it comes and you’ll come out and a new and free person. I was also born with a Saturn retrograde in Aries in the 6th. Between that and the Stellium….Maybe that’s why I don’t fear this Saturn/Pluto conjunction.

  6. I have Pluto in scorpion in my 7th house and Saturn in capricorn in my 9th house. What should I expect for the next 20 years?

Thank you very much from Brazil!

  7. I have a lot of Cancer (Sun, Mercury, Jupiter) and Capricorn (Ascendent, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus) placements which have been in the works with the eclipses and heavy-hitter planets in Saturn (alongside my Saturn return).

It’s been a transformative two years, and continues to be so it seems.

  8. Nobody mentioned Uranus (rocket man!) goes direct (2 degrees Taurus) 11th!! Venus enters Pisces 13th, Mercury enters Aquarius (Uranus ruler)16th! If nothing happens in isolation..head for the hills?? Or stand your ground!

  9. Thanks for this. I’ve been so focused on the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in December of 2020. Looks like we start off with another big event!

  10. This conjunction happens in my second house so are my values, finances etc., going to be affected?

    1. I am Aquarius sun
      I am Capricorn moon
I am ascendant & Venus Aries
However I have Taurus, Libra and Sagittarius in j MJ y chart as well.
Taurus I believe sits in my 2nd house of/ with Saturn 🪐
Libra sits in my 6th house of/ with Pluto.

Everything all my life has been hard but I moved thru it; some with ease some like a kidney stone.
Would you please tell me how will this specific transit effect me?

  11. one of the best interpretations of this event that I’ve read so far! thank you! the only thing I would add is that we have had glimpses throughout this year of what some of our possible “growth spots” might be from these planets coming so close to each other last spring before they each went retrograde.

  12. capricorn is my ascendent house, so what things can happen with this conjunction?
    please kindly reply

  13. I also have Cap rising, but also a stellium in Libra, cause I was born in ’81, so this “monumental” conjunction will square Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto that are all in Libra. Not to forget about the Moon, too, which is in Aries. I am also a Virgo.

I feel like under a thousand shotguns all over me!

    1. I too, have a Stellium in Libra being born in 81. Has your entire life felt like creation and destruction with a purpose as well? I dont necessarily feel this decade will be easier for us, more monumental to be sure, filled with world changing events directly linked to us 81 babies (we are the children of 9 – numerology). I have not yet looked at my chart, but I am Clairsentient and clairvoyant and I do feel a wave of great change coming. Stelliums of 9 are the people to watch for.

      1. Definitely, Amber. It has been and still is a roller coaster all these past years.
At the same time, I feel empty inside.

      2. I know what you mean… I was born 18 Nov 81 = 18/11/81, you can read it back to front. Have a Sat/Pluto/Jup conjunction in the 5th and its been such a miserable life for me so far, that things can def only get better i believe. Here’s hoping 2020 is it – 🙂

  14. On this exact date the 13 grandmothers of First Nation are coming together at Uluru (heart chakra) and connecting the umbilical cord of earth to sun. The frequencies will never be the same. 💗🌸

  15. Thank you for the article! What about Saturn and Pluto conjunction in twelve house?
    Happy New Year!

  16. Great read . Am clueless about the positioning of my charts etc . Am born in 65. On the 14 of august .. at 6.26 am .. according to what my mum says if i remember .. my life changed in 85.. from one of hope to one of adventure I traveled to europe in 88 for school from colombo in sri lanka my home town & back it was for a short 4 month training to switzerland & then 6 or 7 months later in 89 . I traveled to india for 10 day & then straight to germany in april 89.. I had a dream that tge berlin wall would come down when people would start breaking it woth their bare hands .. I also had a dream that nationalism would raise its ugly head again in europe as more refugees start coming in cos of the conflicts of unnessary wars & climate changes all over so I left germany in 93. Back to sri lanka wishing for peace that did slowly dawn eventually in 2009. What a ride it has been .. just wishing everyone pure positivity devoid of all illusion.. this new year . Peace & love .

  17. I tried to comment a little bit ago bit it seems there was a snafu. What I’m wondering, is, how do I know how this will effect me via my natal chart? What do I look for in my chart that is directly correlated to this conjunction? I am learning how to navigate and create charts and I am curious how to know how this conjunction, and others, effect charts. Specifically mine lol.

  18. I am Virgo, 28th August 1969, I don’t know in which house this will affect me and overall, could you please advise? Thank you

  19. DOB 15th July 1961 …Saturn Return??? thanks so much for you posts always gets me thinking in a different way

  20. I have a lot of Capricorn in my chart and my sun sign is Capricorn so should i be worried i think I have a little of pluto tho

  21. Thank you very much for the article. I have a question how this will affect us personally if we have personal planets tightly aspecting this conjunction ? For example friend of mine is having both Venus and Mercury on 22 of Capricorn? My Sun (Mc Ruler )is on 21 of Cancer and opposes it almost exact ? Could you please give your opinion and insight on this.

  22. What a positive piece and what a great new site to have discovered. I’ve got to know Pluto’s incredible transformative power over the past few years. Without wanting to bore everyone with my own chart… When in late 2015 it squared my Aries Sun/Saturn conjunction at 15/16° in the 7th house, my marriage of 16 years fell apart, the sudden and brutal nature of the split enhanced by the fact that Uranus was crossing my Sun/Saturn at the same time. It was the proverbial shit-storm. As Pluto progressed through my 4th house of home I’ve felt its power, especially as it approached my natal moon at 23 degrees of Cancer in the 10th house (career). With Saturn approaching, this has been heightened further. My domestic and professional life has reached crisis point. My ex wife, an alcoholic, has lost her job, has nearly lost her home and very nearly died of penumonia over the new year. Shee has been involved in two violent relationships with deeply inappropriate and dangerous men. My two teenage boys live with me in a two bed flat. Things are tight, constricted (Saturn) and I have to look deep into myself for answers. I’m not sure what they are, but I feel the tranformative power of Pluto in a big way. I hope I can take what’s positive and put my failures behind me and I really do feel that I’ve failed. I’m early fifties and I feel a sense of urgency to succeed, but have found doors being closed in my face when I really could do with them being opened wider. I have indeed felt sorry for myself andI feel like I’m due a break. I know, it’s down to me, probably, but I really hope that Jupiter’s transit through the same house might lighten things. YOu certainly feel alive with Pluto, but oh my, it’s dark. I’ve been left with awe-filled respect for its power.

    Thanks for the wisdom

  23. I have Saturn and Pluto in Leo and seems like something has always been jumping off in my life. Rarely a dull moment that I can enjoy. Seems like everyone comes to me and want me to figure things out for them.
Seems like God is tired of the things going on and he wants to put a stop to it. Feels like he is remaking planet Earth while we are still on it. This world has never been quite and peaceful, just fighting, killings and wars. I don’t know if these planets for the next 10 years will make that big of a difference. Everything goes in circles! Although, I will remain hopeful…and continue on because you never know what God has up his sleeves!

  24. I currently have transit Pluto conj natal Saturn in the 1st house (Capricorn). I lost the business I had for 30 yrs when Pluto started into orb with Saturn. It is almost exact now and I am concerned for my health. I’ve had covid and since then my hearts acting up. I wonder if I will be alive when it’s over….
