Sun conjunct South Node in Pisces – Time to Say Goodbye

On 21st of February Sun will conjunct for the last time the South Node of the Moon in Pisces. Next time we have a Sun / South Node conjunction in Pisces is in 2035.

Sun’s transit over the South Node will expose us to our default patterns of “Piscean” behaviors and themes: spirituality, imagination, compassion, sacrifice.

Love is the greatest example of what Piscean energy stands for: something that cannot be constrained to form or expression,  fluid and spaceless. Always connected, always in communion.

The South Node in Pisces wants to immerse in spiritual oneness, and is doing that by “escaping”  from the practical world through spirituality and art (when the South Node is maturely expressed) or through addiction or withdrawal from involvement with others.

Sun conjunct South Node in Pisces is about living in a far-away past, before our soul chose to materialize into this body, is about living in a fairytale where we can shape-shift into anything we want and travel in and out different dimensions. But deep inside we know this place is not real. Regret and nostalgia often accompany South Node’s transit. We crave for the Paradise Lost, for that space of complete comfort and bliss, for that mystical consciousness, for our mother’s womb.

The South Node shows our skills, our mastery, what we have “inherited” from our previous lives, but also shows our default patterns, everything we do because it just comes natural to us, because we don’t know another way of doing it.

And this “default mode” comes with a difficult question. Why do we cling to things? We cling to what we love, we cling to what we know, we cling to our habits, good or bad, we even cling to what makes us suffer, over and over again. We settle in life, making justifications and  excuses as to why. In being confined to this way of living, are we aware that we are prisoners of the past?

Transits to the South Node expose and bring to our awareness what we need to “cut off”, what we need to release from our psyche, or bring to the next level. Which part of your Psyche is “exposed” by the South Node transit to the Sun? Can you outgrow the “old you”?

You need to make a decision, now or never: do you want to accept that part of you and carry it forward? Or you want to drop it and let it go away? Whatever you chose, take responsibility for your choice.

Every transit to the South Node activates as well the North Node, our Soul’s Purpose, which now is in Virgo. Sun’s opposition to the North Node is an invitation to “escape” that comfortable Piscean numbness, and embrace the practical Virgo energy instead. Escapism, day dreaming, living in the past, taking drugs,  drinking alcohol…all these can help us deal with life when times get tough, however it is through active involvement with others, through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, the only we to deal with the world in a healthy way.

It is not enough to “feel sorry” for ourselves and for others, we need to be able to be there, we need to participate, give service, contribute, take responsibility  – because this is what will ultimately make a difference. Living up to the North Node requires a real break with South Node Piscean romanticism.

I am not in any suggesting that is something wrong with the Piscean energy. We have a lot to learn from Pisces, the oldest soul of the zodiac.

But not now – in 8 years time when the North Node will transit Pisces, we will be prepared to integrate Pisces’ higher spiritual lessons. Right now, we need to deal with Piscean “karmic debrief”.

We need to learn how to get real.

New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Pisces – The Final Chapter

On the 25th – 26th of February we have an extremely powerful New Moon and Solar Eclipse at 8° in Pisces.

This Solar Eclipse and New Moon is extremely potent – Why that?

First and foremost, Eclipses are powerful because they conjunct one of the Nodes of the Fate. This Solar Eclipse in Pisces is closely conjunct the South Node of the Moon, the point of Karma – everything  we should, but cannot – leave behind.

Then, the ruler of this New Moon, Neptune, is actually conjunct the New Moon/Solar Eclipse! This is extremely extremely important – it is like having an Eclipse in Scorpio conjunct Pluto, or an Eclipse in Aquarius conjunct Uranus. When an Eclipse conjuncts its own ruler, everything “screams” the energy of that particular sign, in our case, Pisces.  We basically have Sun, Moon, South Node and Neptune, all conjunct for the “final act” in a series of  Virgo-Pisces eclipses that began in March 2015 and culminates now.

Apart from the quadruple conjunction (Sun, Moon, South Node and Pisces) we also have Mercury and Chiron in Pisces. With six planets in Pisces, we will all drown into the Piscean energy to the fullest. The South Node is at the midpoint of the New Moon and Mercury – some conversations, or some news, will bring important new insights from “depths of the ocean” – of our subconscious, of the soul of the universe.

Probably the most intense aspect in the Pisces New Moon chart is Mars conjoining Uranus in Aries in opposition with Jupiter in Libra. This exploding aspect is not directly connected to the Solar Eclipse itself, but we will nevertheless feel it very strongly.

If the Solar Eclipse in Pisces is the deep ocean where we can drown but also gain profound insights about who we are, Mars conjunct Uranus and opposite Jupiter is lightning starting fire. It shall be seen how water and fire will “play together” –  strong emotions, almost hysterical, can be expressed and released during this eclipse.  Those of us with a lot of water in their chart will feel like a psychic sponge.

People with planets or angles at (especially Sun, Moon, Ascendant, MC, Mercury, Venus, Mars) in Pisces, but also in the other mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius) will feel the Neptunian –South Node vibe, and the immediacy of the New Moon. Repressed feelings will come up to the surface, to be acknowledged and healed.

People with planets and angles around 22° in Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) will feel a strong drive to ACT and start something new in the area of their life (houses) where they have the transits.

If you have planets both around 8° in Mutable signs and around 22° in Cardinal signs this Lunar Eclipse will be extremely transformational for you.

The message of this New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Pisces is:  Only by letting go of old ways we can create the much needed space for new things in our lives. We are now urged to finally drop what is not working anymore. Let it go. Insights and messages on what exactly we need to let go off may come to us through dreams and intuition – pay attention to whatever thought, feeling, sign comes to you.

The final eclipse on the Virgo-Pisces axis is about making peace with our past, taking responsibility for our life, getting real and living with common sense.

Dive into the unknown, Pisces will empower you with emotional intelligence and the wisdom you need to embrace the new territory.

Remember, Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, containing a little bit of each of the signs that precede him. He has seen it all, done it all. Be brave  as you embark upon the new phase of your life that is about to start.

The most important thing that Pisces and Neptune can teach us is to accept that we are enough, and we can’t really do anything for others – the only thing that is really in our power, is to take care of ourselves. Love yourself , become the very best version of yourself – and in this way you will empower others to love themselves too.

Sun in Pisces – Contemplation, Responsibility, Acceptance

Sun enters Pisces on the 18th of February.

Pisces is the last sign of the Zodiac. Eleven months after the Spirit (Aries) has grown to become a perfect individual (Sun’s journey from Taurus to Virgo) and thereafter, this perfect individual has learned to give back to the world his or her unique gifts (Sun’s journey from Libra to Aquarius), in Pisces it’s time to integrate everything and become “whole again”.

After  this perfection is achieved, the Spirit will return to the womb of the universe and start afresh, when on the 19th of March we have the Spring equinox and a new Astrological Year will start (a new Astrological cycle starts at the Spring Equinox which is the same time when the Sun moves into Aries).

“Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away” – Exupery

Pisces season is a time to reap what we sow, to take responsibility for what has happened in our life and simply accept the reality of now.

If you lived with curiosity and intention you can find yourself content with how far you’ve come, no matter how difficult this 12-month cycle has been for you. Remember – It’s not what happens to us, but how we react to what happens to us!

“If your consciousness is clean, pure, innocent, the moment is not far away when you will explode into a luminous splendor. That’s what is known as enlightenment, or awakening, or self-realization” – Osho

Sun’s transit into Pisces is the “culmination” of the human spirit’s mission in this yearly astrological cycle. This is the time to “complete” whatever we have started at the time of the Spring Equinox last year.

February and March (the time before the Spring equinox) have always been a good time to de-clutter the house, the body, the mind and the soul.

Take your time to meditate, contemplate and ponder things, and prioritize them for the next cycle. Slow down and reflect what this astrological cycle has meant for you, and what you are moving towards or inviting in the next Sun cycle.

The following 4 weeks also make a great time to go for a detox, a purification ritual or try music or art therapy. This is not a time for serious physical or psychological work – be gentle with yourself.

If possible, try to take some days off work and go to a place in nature, preferably by the sea, or by a lake, far away from the business of the city. The best days to go for a mini-retreat are 16 to 18th of March (it is a weekend), just before the Spring Equinox on the 19th of March.

And while the thought of what is about to come into being is unknown, rest assured that a fresh start is just around the corner.

Venus In Pisces – The Mermaid

The Greek legend says that Venus arose from the foam of the sea shore. She is frequently pictured  wafted on a large sea shell to shore as a gift from heaven, symbolizing the watery female principle, essential to the generation and balance of life.  No wonder in astrology Venus is exalted in Pisces, which literally means that is in this watery placement where she is able to express herself at her best.

Pisces is ruled by the mystical Neptune, the God of the sea, who is also the higher octave of Venus. In Pisces, Venus brings all the Venusian attributes of love and beauty to higher realms – of enchanting beauty, spiritual and compassionate love and receptivity, and authentic connection.

Just like the ocean, deep and wavy, love has now the power to conquer all the oppositions and differences. The struggle of duality between the Lower and the Higher Selves, represented by the two fish going in opposite directions (the Piscean symbol) seems to dissolve now. In the higher realms of Neptune, there is no more “me” and “you” – the spirit of Love dwells everywhere.

Another theme of Venus in Pisces is the one of sacrifice. Looking through the Neptunian lenses, sacrifice becomes  the supreme gift, not because of generosity, but because in the last sign of the Zodiac, the sacrifice becomes  the natural vibration of life. Life can only exist and continuously recreate itself when we have a ‘giver’ and a ‘receiver’ playing along – in this way, life propagates through all matters of existence – just  to return to its immortality whatever it needs to go back into the ocean of conception, to emerge later in a different shape.

Judas who betrayed Jesus was the 12th apostle (symbolizing the sign of Pisces) – he HAD to betray Jesus because someone had to do it to fulfill the prophecy and save the world. In a way, it was only him who loved Jesus enough and  sacrificed  to do the ordeal.

In Pisces, Venus likes to dream, and the border between dreams, imagination and reality may change just like the boundary between the ocean and the shoreline changes with every wave, inviting us to surrender to the unknown.

Bathing in the Neptunian ocean of neverendings, Venus becomes the mermaid, the elusive and mysterious half-woman, half-fish creature which can swim in deep waters and then emerge to the surface to allure sailors with her grace and beauty.

Just like a mermaid, there is a longing in which one of us for the depths of the ocean, for that primordial environment we all emerged from, millions of years ago.

During the Venus transit in Pisces we can feel an intense longing to merge with the divine, and to escape from a reality devoid of meaning.

And this is because Venus in Pisces craves for connection – not any connection, but a spiritual connection that can last the span of lifetimes. We look now not only for romance, but for a love that will bring us a sense of higher purpose. If we start a relationship now, we will feel like  the Spirit/God/Source/Universe has conspired for us and the object of our desire to meet.

In relationships, the transit of Venus in Pisces will bring a long-awaited period of warmth and connection. You will find it natural now to reestablish intimacy and to communicate about any issue that is causing distance between you and your partner.

In a relationship or not, this is the time of the year when we all crave a fairy tale romance. We now long for a deep soul mate connection, we want not only to love, but to merge with the other. And this is not at all a naive, dreamy disposition. We will yarn for whatever we value in the depths of our being, be it forbidden romantic love, love for God, or the desire to help the less fortunate.

Our intuition is highly developed now, and we can relate deeply to art, poetry, nature and music.  Whether you are in love right now, or longing for love, Venus in Pisces is a great time to focus on your spiritual practices, to read poetry, visit art galleries, read fantasy books, go to the church or to the ashram, or simply buy beautiful clothes, scarfs, shoes or bed linens.

Mars in Pisces – The Spiritual Warrior

Mars enters Pisces on the 19th of December, inviting us to let the guard down and trust that the Universe is constantly working on our behalf to give us what our soul needs.

Mars is traditionally the God of War, but in dream-like Pisces, Mars cares less about getting his way, about rewards and recognition. This is because Mars can see that life is so much more that a single, clear-cut direction. In Pisces, Mars is the alchemist that understands the interconnectedness of all that is, and has the power to transform base metals into gold, something common into something special, struggle and emotions that do not serve us, into the beauty and grace.

Picture 132

In the following weeks, we will be less interested in worldly affairs, distractions, and more dream-like and tuned in with what is not to be seen. The Mars in Pisces energy will allow us to give up the pressure of being in charge and embrace the comfort of trust and in this way, stay open to the miraculous, serendipitous, unexpected turns of life.

Does that mean that Mars in Pisces in passive? Not at all. Although he is not the “in your face” type of warrior (like Mars in Aries for example), it does not mean he is not an warrior.

In Pisces, Mars is the archetype of the spiritual warrior.

Spirituality and war are two words that are often in conflict –  but is there really a contradiction between the two? In Pisces, Mars explores the crossings of spirituality and war. Most of the prophets of our times were spiritual warriors – as they fought for love. They had the courage, discipline, and openness to love unconditionally even they were rejected and persecuted – and this is because they stood for something larger than themselves.

The first and most vital tool of the spiritual warrior is awareness. And this is what Neptune, Pisces’s ruler does so well. Neptune has the ability to understand the big picture, and accept that we are all part of it, and in the same time we all co-create the Divine Plan in every moment of our existence.

Awareness is about perceiving with clarity the truth of what is happening without interpretation or opinion. We are “seeing” from a point or view separate from the reasoning part of our brain. Conscious awareness allows us to see clearly instead of be blinded by false belief paradigms. Mars is Pisces is not delusional – he clearly sees the truth of our existence, even when the others call him a fool or a conspiracy theorist.

The way to deal with Mars in Pisces transit is by getting in touch with the spiritual warrior inside us, and by finding different creative outlets to express ourselves.
