Mars is conjunct Chiron a 28° Pisces. Mars meets Chiron only once every 2 years, and this is the last time we have the conjunction in Pisces. In February Chiron moves into Aries where it will stay until 2027. Chiron won’t be back in Pisces until 2061, so for many of us, this Mars-Chiron conjunction is the last one we will experience in this lifetime.
Mars conjunct Chiron can indeed put us in touch with our own mortality.
Mars rules Aries, the first sign of the zodiac.
Mars is the planet of action and assertiveness. Mars is the first planet to go around the Sun, as seen from the Earth’s perspective. The planets closer to the Sun: Mercury and Venus – never make a full circle around the Sun.
Mars is the Hero that breaks through the boundaries of the “Spirit” represented by the Sun and chooses to make his own creation, to go ‘his way’. Mars is the divine light of the spirit individualized.
Mars and Aries stand for individuality, while Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, stands for the collective.
Can you see the conflict here? Mars wants to cut through and affirm himself, but because Mars is now in Pisces he is equally pulled by the mermaid-like call to strip down his ego and embrace the great beyond.
What about Chiron?
Chiron is known as the ‘wounded healer’ and indeed, initially, Chiron triggers our deepest pain. Chiron brings pain because we need pain to experience the higher vibration of consciousness.
But the reason why Chiron asks us to work with the pain, is to transcend it and turn it into something much greater.
It makes sense if we think that Chiron orbits between Saturn, the last visible planet, and Uranus, the first invisible planet. Chiron exposes the pain of our limited material existence, but it also brings us the opportunity to transcend these material limitations and move into the ethereal, Uranian realms of existence.
Chiron is a centaur, a half-horse, half-human, a force of nature that has transcended his human limitations and brought the gifts of nature to the Gods.
Chiron represents the instinct of the human spirit to leave something immaterial behind, a legacy, something of value. Our spirit seeking to manifest itself represents our “gifts”.
Mars Conjunct Chiron – Exposing The Inner Aggression
The way Mars will bring to the surface Chironic themes is by brutally exposing our pain. Mars conjunct Chiron is associated with shame, because Chiron exposes our very first pain, the pain of our existence.
Mars stands for assertiveness, for our desire to put ourselves “out there”. With Chiron, we will find that our ability to assert ourselves, to BE ourselves is obstructed. We are ashamed of who we are, we are ashamed to act and “get out there”. We become painfully aware of our inner aggression. We are afraid that just by being ourselves, we will hurt others. But Pisces is the sign of Compassion – and the transit of Mars and Chiron in Pisces is a GIFT, an opportunity to acknowledge and release that inner aggression we all have inside us. The key to healing is learning to turn the anger, the shame and the pain of being a mortal human into strength and compassion. The deeper meaning of Mars conjunct Chiron is understanding that aggression and compassion can coexist and that there is nothing to be ashamed of. Mars conjunct Chiron will challenge us to heal the aggressive side of our nature. We need to learn now how to assert ourselves in a healthy way and stand our ground with dignity and compassion. In its highest expression, Mars-Chiron stands foraction and spirit coming together with a strong drive to make a difference, and leave something behind for those who will follow.
Every new year is an opportunity to start afresh, to renew your vision, and to dream big for your future.
2019 is going to be an amazing year for sure. If there is one astrological transit I’m particularly excited about, that’s Jupiter in Sagittarius.
Jupiter in Sagittarius is not just an important transit, it’s THE most beneficial transit of the whole 2019!
That’s because in 2019, Jupiter is in its home sign in Sagittarius. And when a planet is in its home sign, we get the best out of that planet. Jupiter is notoriously known for being the good guy of the zodiac. Traditional astrologers call it “the greater benefic”, which basically means that Jupiter is the most beneficial planet in our solar system!
So yes, Jupiter in Sagittarius is the transit you were waiting for to turn your dreams into reality.
Do you know what makes people alienated from themselves and from their life? Not living their purpose. Not taking chances. Saying no to opportunities. Luckily (Jupiter is also the sign of luck ;), when Jupiter is in Sagittarius you will naturally be more in sync with what the world has to offer.
Jupiter In Sagittarius – Reach The Stars
If you found it difficult to identify opportunities in the past, in 2019 Jupiter in Sagittarius will make it easier for you to identify those opportunities that are truly aligned with your purpose.
Sagittarius is the archer who aims and shoots to the stars. The archer is half horse, half man. He has embraced both his animal and human side in a unified, coherent whole. He lives in unity with both nature and the divine. But he doesn’t stop there. He wants to go beyond, and that’s why he aims and shoots to the stars. That’s what the upward pointed arrow, the Sagittarius glyph, represents.
Sagittarius proves that the sky is not the limit.
Sagittarius is an example of what’s possible. You can achieve anything – literally anything – as long as your goal is aligned with your integrity and with your life’s purpose.
Deep inside, you know you can do more. You know your existence is not an accident. You know you’re here for a reason. Jupiter in Sagittarius is your chance to stop settling for a life of mediocrity.
What is a life of mediocrity? Aimlessly seeking pleasure and avoiding suffering. What is a life of purpose? Seeking meaning.
In 2019 you want to seek meaning. You want to have a life that is aligned with your integrity and with your highest potential.
You don’t need to have the answers yet. You don’t need to know ‘how’ to get there. All you have to do is aim and shoot to the stars, just like the archer does.
The Universe will not remain indifferent. When you launch your intention to the Universe, the Universe will respond. It’s simple. It’s the law of action and reaction.
Vision Board 2019 With Jupiter In Sagittarius
But how do you find out what your purpose is? How do you realize your vision?
The goal of this course is to help you create a vision for 2019 that is truly aligned with your potential and with your highest purpose.
Vision boards are great for crystallizing your vision, because, in the process of creating a vision board, you engage with your whole brain, not only with your day-to-day, information-driven, Mercury brain.
In fact, vision boards engage your subconscious mind and have the quality to connect the dots and capture underlying motives and trends that otherwise escape your conscious mind. Images and a vision board activate your big-picture thinking, which is ruled by Jupiter.
The reason New Year’s resolutions don’t work is that you ‘think’ about them with your every day, Mercury mind. Not that there is something wrong with the Mercury mind. Your Mercury mind helps you write, read, talk, do the groceries, and focus on one task at the time.
But a vision is not one task at the time. A vision is a complex archetypal map and the mind alone will not help you much in connecting the dots and understanding the bigger purpose of your vision.
In Vision Board 2019 With Jupiter In Sagittarius, you will learn how to create a vision board that is aligned with your purpose. If you’ve done vision boards before, this one is different. This course will guide you, step by step, in selecting images that are connected with your specific situation.
We will look at your chart, more exactly at what role Jupiter and Sagittarius play in your chart, and you will select images based on these inborn archetypes. Moreover, you will also select images that are connected with the reality of 2019.
More exactly, you will look at how Jupiter in Sagittarius influences you in particular, and based on that you will select images for your board. You will receive guidance on how to go through this process, as well as all the astrological information you need.
By the end of this course, you will have a vision board that is fully aligned with your purpose. You will have the confidence that you’re walking on the right path and focus on the right opportunities, and as a result, your chances of actually manifesting the vision board into reality will increase exponentially.
And because a vision board is not enough, you will also get guidance on how to break down your vision into measurable goals, and how to track your activities with planetary transits and cycles, so that you can make sure you don’t deviate from your North Star.
The course starts on January 6, 2019, because this is when we have a New Moon and a Solar Eclipse in Capricorn. As you may already know, New Moons and Solar Eclipses are potent times for manifestations, that’s why we want to take advantage of this celestial timing.
The Full Moon in Cancer takes place at 0° Cancer, the solstice point. This is one of the 4 cardinal degrees, or cardinal directions of the zodiac. The other three are the 0° Aries and 0° Libra (the equinoxes), and 0° Capricorn (the other solstice point).
The cardinal points are nothing else but the Sun’s change in direction. In fact, the whole concept of tropical astrology as we know it is based on these 4 points or directions.
The 4 cardinal degrees are the most important degrees of the zodiac. Needless to say that when we have an astrological event around one of these dates, important things tend to happen.
Full Moon In Cancer – Switching Gears
The Full Moon on December 22, 2018, at 0° Cancer is no exception. A Full Moon means that the Moon is opposite the Sun, which places the Sun at 0° Capricorn, another cardinal degree.
Both the Sun and the Moon are switching gears. And this means change – the right kind of change. Change that is in line with the laws of nature.
The Moon is more powerful than ever. Cancer is her home sign, after all. A Full Moon at 0° Cancer says “this is my year”. Indeed, 2019 is the Moon / Cancer year. The North Node of purpose is now in Cancer too.
Cancer is a feminine and manifesting sign. Cancer is the family, the roots, the mother’s womb, the safe, nurturing space where life is formed.
Cancer is the source, the root cause, the deeper truth.
The Full Moon in Cancer can be that turning point that will set your life in a new direction.
The question is, what systems do you need to put in place to fulfill your potential and meet your goals?
If you want to become a parent, how can you create a safe and nurturing environment for your family? Perhaps you need to find a new job that allows you to spend more time with your family. Or start working from home.
If you want to have a relationship, what do you need to change about yourself to feel worthy of a loving relationship? Maybe you need to get rid of a bad habit, or to keep your house clean.
If you want to get a management job, what skills do you need to learn to make your promotion inevitable?
When we don’t have what we want, it’s usually because weskipped a significant step in the process.
Cancer’s symbol is the crab. The crab moves sideways. This means the solution to the problem can be found when you take a counterintuitive approach.
Go back, re-engineer and find out what that skipped step is. By fixing the root cause of the problem, you can finally move forward.
Mercury Conjunct Jupiter – The Whole Brain
At the time of the Full Moon, Mercury is conjunct Jupiter at 9° Sagittarius. Mercury represents our analytical, factual, left-hemisphere mind, while Jupiter represents our spiritual, meaning-driven, right hemisphere of the mind. In our everyday life, we either go with the facts (Mercury) or with the intuition (Jupiter). Either, or.
This Mercury-Jupiter conjunction is your opportunity to bring the pieces of the puzzle together and to use your whole brain mind.
In the midst of opposite viewpoints, you can get to the real, naked TRUTH.
When we use our whole brain, strange things start to happen. You may start noticing things that don’t make any sense… at least not yet. Your worldview may be turned upside down. You can have a sudden realization that changes everything. An event may turn out differently than what you expected.
The Full Moon in Cancer will illuminate this insight. Take it in. Now that you know something you didn’t know before, you’re ready to switch gears.
Make a commitment that 2019 is the YEAR when you will take a different approach. You will get to the root cause of the matter. You will move sideways, like a crab, if needed. You will be brutally honest with yourself. You will create that type of life that makes success, mastery, and development inevitable.
After 5 months in retrograde, Chiron just turned direct at 27° Pisces on December 9th, 2018. This is the last time Chiron goes direct in Pisces, at least for the next 50 years.
On the same day, Chiron makes a beautiful grandwater trine with Mercury (at 27° Scorpio) and with the North Node (at 27° Cancer).
Mercury is our mind. Master or servant, our mind is the ‘manager’ of our life. We feed it with thoughts, feelings, and impressions. Mercury processes them. As a result, we feel in a certain way. We act in a certain way. All our feelings, actions, everything about us can be traced back to the mind. Can be traced back to Mercury.
When we have a Mercury transit, our mind pays attention.
What about Chiron? Chiron is also called “the wounded healer” but Chiron is much more than that. Chiron orbits between Saturn, the last planet visible to the naked eye – and the last planet we can conceptualize with our Mercurial mind – and Uranus.
Uranus is the first invisible planet, an archetype that our mind cannot grasp yet. That’s why Uranus is associated with chaos and surprises – it’s because what we don’t understand, we fear.
Chiron is the ‘missing link’ between Saturn and Uranus and represents our opportunity to transcend our material limitations, to move beyond matter and time, to something greater than our mind can even comprehend.
Of course, the process is not easy. It means awakening from the limited, false reality we are programmed to live in. At first, it hurts. That’s why Chiron is the wounded healer.
But after we embrace the pain, Chiron can open doors to places you can’t even imagine.
Chiron’s symbol is the key, right?
Chiron is nothing else but the key to wholeness.
The North Node represents our purpose in life, our potential to alter our karma (represented by the South Node) and change the course of our destiny.
What happens when these three powerful archetypes – Mercury, Chiron, and the North Node – come together?
Our mind (Mercury)
Our wholeness (Chiron)
Our life’s purpose (North Node).
If there was only one contact – between Chiron and the North Node – we might have missed the incredible opportunity of this transit. But because Mercury (our mind) is involved as well, we simply cannot miss it.
Pay attention to the messages around you – and inside you.
What message is so clear, so true, so important that you cannot ignore it?
You knew it all along, but you didn’t pay enough attention to it.
The portal has been opened. Chiron has given you the key. Step in. Today can be the day that everything changes.
Message In A Bottle – Trusting The Universe Works In Your Favor
Once upon a time, before the internet, before television, before cars and the postal service, people used completely different ways of communicating with each other.
Imagine someone, back in the day, really wanted to send a message, to reach out to the world. What would they do? They would put a message in a bottle and surrender it to the great ocean.
Bottles in the ocean are a symbol for miracles. When nothing else works, when you’ve tried all other avenues, the ocean is the last option. The bottle can take your message very far, but not necessarily where you expect it to.
The currents can drift the bottle in any direction. You have no control. You don’t know the destination. You have to trust that the ocean will drift the bottle to the ‘right’ shore. When there’s no hope left, you have to trust that the universe works in your favor.
People surrender to the unknown as the last resort, when they have lost all hope. In reality, we don’t have to wait that long. You can surrender to the ocean anytime. Your message will reach the right destination, but you have to be willing not to know the destination.
A message in a bottle is you asking God – or the Universe – for directions. All you have to do is ask. Without expectations, without trying to ‘guess’ the answer.
New Moon In Sagittarius – Jupiter, Neptune, Intuition And Psychic Messages
On December 7th, 2018 we have a New Moon at 15° Sagittarius. The New Moon is square Mars and Neptune, which form a conjunction in Pisces.
A square is a dynamic aspect. It pushes us to take action. But what kind of action?
We have two energies at play – Sagittarius and Pisces. Sagittarius is the sign of expanding one’s horizons. Sagittarius is also connected with intuition and higher knowledge.
When you intuitively know who to trust and who not, whether or not you should take the job, that’s because Sagittarius (and the ruling planet, Jupiter) has connected the dots for you.
Jupiter’s knowledge is based on experience. What we call intuition is our capacity to connect large amounts of information and find meaning and trends.
Pisces has many things in common with Sagittarius. Both Pisces and Sagittarius are mutable signs, and both Pisces and Sagittarius are ruled by Jupiter (Jupiter is the main ruler of Sagittarius and the traditional ruler of Pisces). Both Pisces and Sagittarius are connected with faith, hope, and spirituality.
Pisces is also ruled by Neptune, the planet of the ocean, the soul, the unconscious and psychic connections. Neptune is the medium that connects us with other realms of existence.
If Sagittarius and Jupiter are connected with higher knowledge and intuition, Pisces and Neptune are connected with the unconscious and with psychic connections.
Many times we confuse the two. We believe we received a psychic message when in fact it was our intuition playing out, or the other way around, we receive messages from other realms and believe it’s our intuition.
When we ‘feel’ our partner is sad, that’s intuition, when we suddenly get a message that our partner is sad, even when they are far away, that’s a psychic message.
The New Moon in Sagittarius is exactly about these two archetypes: knowledge based on intuition and experience (Sagittarius) and knowledge based on communicating with higher realms (Pisces).
Your intuition (New Moon in Sagittarius) will be challenged – by Mars and Neptune in Pisces – to open up to other types of messages. Pay attention to unusual signs, to omens, to dreams. They will give you very important clues about what to do.
If you feel ‘you’re right’ about something or someone, but you get a different message from an unusual source, don’t dismiss this message. That’s Mars and Neptune in Pisces pushing you to take a different route.
Mercury just turned direct. When Mercury changes course, something you overlooked will suddenly emerge and change everything. Because Mercury direct coincides with the New Moon in Sagittarius and with the Mars-Neptune conjunction in Pisces, incredible breakthroughs are possible now.
If you feel you’ve reached a plateau in knowledge and experience, open to the higher portals of your being. Delve within the Spiritual world. Send a message in a bottle. Let the ocean take your message to unknown destinations.
December ends 2018 on a high note. If you want to know what to expect in 2019, pay attention to what happens this month. In December 2018 it’s time to reflect what do you want from the next version of yourself, and from the next chapter of your life.
Why should you pay so much attention to December?
Firstly, because in December we’re done with the retrograde planets! 2018 was probably the Year Of Retrogrades. We had a very long Mars retrograde challenging us through the summer.
When Mars finally went direct, Venus started her retrograde in October. And then again, when Venus went direct, believe it or not, one day later, Mercury went retrograde.
But on December 6 Mercury goes direct and with this, the retrograde saga is over!
I’m not saying retrograde planets are bad – not at all – in fact, we need retrograde planets in our life. We need to take time to work on ourselves and improve our lives on a regular basis. Hence, the retrogrades.
But what’s enough is enough. There is such thing as enough introspection and enough revision. Sometimes all we need is to move on, and to have the Universe on our side. Sometimes all we need is smooth sailing. December 2018 is such a month. January 2019 is such a month, too, but right now let’s focus on December.
Sagittarius, Jupiter And Neptune – Deam Big
December is the best time to dream big and envision a new reality for yourself. We have a lot of Jupiter and Neptune energy in December. And Jupiter and Neptune are the planets of spirituality, of envisioning something that doesn’t yet exists.
Jupiter has moved into Sagittarius for a month now, inviting you to dream big and explore new courses of action. In fact, not only Jupiter is in its own sign, but in December we also have 3 weeks of Sun in Sagittarius, a wonderful Mercury-Jupiter conjunction in Sagittarius, and a New Moon in Sagittarius. Sagittarius is the archer who shoots to the stars. In the same way, Sagittarius season is your time to dream big and send your intentions to the universe.
Another energy that influences December is Pisces. Neptune, the ruling planet of Pisces, makes a record number of aspects, including a conjunction with Mars, (which only happens once every two years), a square to Mercury, a square to the Sun, and a trine to Venus.
The role of Neptune is to dissolve your current reality, in order for a new reality to emerge. Neptune is the planet of the cosmos, and its role is to regularly update our earthy view of reality, with the multi-faceted, high-vibration reality of the Universe.
Neptune, the god of water, represents the potential that opens up to us when we acknowledge we are just a drop of water, and consciously throw ourselves into the ocean of endless possibilities.
But the higher knowledge, the higher love, the higher gifts that come when we surrender to the ocean come only when you completely open yourself to new ways of being or doing. There’s no such thing as ‘a little bit of Neptune’.
December 2018 is a time to dissolve old structures, old ways of being and doing. In January 2019, in the Capricorn season, you will build new foundations for the future. But now is the time to dream big, bigger than ever, and open yourself up to a completely different reality.
Let’s put it like this: if 2018 was not what you expected – what are your plans for 2019? Do you ‘hope’ in 2019 the stars will be better? Will you wait and see? Or will you take real action to change your life? If you do the same things you’ve been doing you will NOT get different results. For the sake of Jupiter in Sagittarius, no more of repeating the same old. Now it’s time to completely change your life.
Let’s have a look at the most important events of December 2018:
December 2nd, 2018 – Venus Enters Scorpio
On December 2nd, 2018 Venus (re) enters Scorpio. That’s not a completely new energy, because we had Venus in Scorpio already in September and October. On December 17th, Venus (by then at 10° Scorpio) leaves her retrograde shadow. No more drama. No more karmic excuses. Just pure Goddess energy.
December 5th, 2018 – Sun Square Neptune
On December 5th, 2018 Sun in Sagittarius is square Neptune in Pisces. This is the first kick of Neptune energy in December. The Sun is you. Neptune is the planet of infinite possibilities.
A square is a dynamic aspect, and will ask you to take action. More exactly, a new course of action. If you cling to old ways, Neptune will bring you confusion and illusions. If you open up to creative possibilities, Neptune will bring you inspiration.
December 6th, 2018 – Mercury Goes Direct, Chiron Goes Direct
Not only we have “minus two” planets in retrograde (in December, the only planet left retrograde is Uranus) but there is something magical about Mercury and Chiron going direct one after the other, and at the same mathematical degree.
Mercury and Chiron, together with the North Node of purpose (27° Cancer) form a wonderful grand water trine.
This is a very healing configuration – you will gain deep insights into what it is that is hurting can come around these dates, as well as solutions to stop the suffering. If nothing hurts, still, take this opportunity to open up to new healing opportunities. Perhaps you can take an active role as a healer. Whatever you do now, is in alignment with the Universe, thanks to the supporting alignment with the North Node.
December 7th, 2018 – New Moon In Sagittarius
On December 7th, 2018 we have a New Moon at 15° Sagittarius. On the same day, Mars is conjunct Neptune at 13° Pisces. Don’t be fooled by the Neptunian fog! The New Moon is an active New Moon, thanks to the square to Mars.
The message? Take inspired action to make your dreams come true! Send a love letter to the Universe, and who knows, the Universe might get back to you 😉
December 12th, 2018 – Mercury Enters Sagittarius
On December 12, 2018, Mercury re-enters Sagittarius. Mercury normally doesn’t feel at its best in Sagittarius, but because Mercury makes a conjunction to Jupiter for most of the month, this time the planet of the lower mind (Mercury) will have no choice but to finally open up to new knowledge and new ways of operating (Jupiter).
And that’s great news. If you believe your life can never change, think again.
December 20th, 2018 – Sun Trine Uranus
On December 20th, 2018 Sun in Sagittarius is trine Uranus (now at 28° Aries), and this means a last burst of Uranus in Aries inspiration. This is much welcomed before you dive into the serious Capricorn season. In fact, this is the last Uranus trine Sun in Fire signs we will have for a long time, before Uranus moves into Taurus for good in March 2019. Make sure you take advantage of it and tap into your spiritual genius.
You will benefit from this energy especially if you are an Aries, Leo or Sagittarius, or if you have other personal planters around 28° in Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius or Aquarius.
December 21st, 2018 – Mercury Conjunct Jupiter
On December 21st, 2018 Mercury is conjunct Jupiter at 9° Sagittarius. This is my favorite transit of the month. Normally any Jupiter conjunctions to personal planets are auspicious, but this one, especially so, because it lasts much longer than usual!
Normally a Mercury-Jupiter conjunction lasts for 2-3 days, but this one lasts for almost two months, thanks to the retrograde motion of Mercury. That’s your chance to align your Mercury ‘lower mind’ with your Jupiter ‘higher mind’.
You will finally be able to access parts of your brain that were dormant. Or did not work well together.
Most of the time, we’re either in our Mercury mind (scientific mind, detailed-oriented, “I only believe in what I can see”) or in our Jupiter mind (intuition, wisdom, “The Truth doesn’t need questioning”).
Imagine a scientist that bashes astrology because they are in their Mercury mind. They only believe in what they can prove with ‘scientific’ tools and measurements that – ironically have been developed with our lower Mercury mind – and contest knowledge that cannot be contained in a mathematical formula.
Now imagine an astrologer, who insists that Saturn transits bring obstacles and difficulties, because that’s what the old astrology texts say, and rejects recent experiences that suggest more positive angles of interpretation.
And now imagine the scientist genuinely opening up to other laws of cause and effect, while the astrologer genuinely opening up to how the latest astronomy discoveries can shed new light into astrology interpretation. That’s what Mercury conjunct Jupiter will bring.
December 22nd, 2018 – Full Moon In Cancer
On December 22nd, 2018 Sun enters Capricorn and shortly after we have a Full Moon at 0° Cancer. The Full Moon is sexile Uranus and square Chiron. Expect a lot of things to happen around this date. It’s only once a year that we have a Full Moon in her home sign, Cancer.
The Moon feels great when Full, because she reigns the night skies all by herself, away from the blinding light of the Sun. The Moon feels great when in Cancer, because this is when she does what she’s best at: nurturing, taking care of herself and others, tuning into her body and emotions.
If you’ve been neglecting your body, your emotions and your inner life, this Full Moon is the wake-up call you needed. The Full Moon can expose some hidden pains you were not aware of (Full Moon square Chiron) but will also find some creative healing solutions (Full Moon sextile Uranus).
The Full Moon is at 0° Cancer, one of the 4 cardinal degrees, the most powerful degrees of the zodiac. Everyone will feel the effects of this Full Moon, and especially so if you are a Cancer or Cancer ascendant, or if you have planets and angles around 0° Cancer.
December 24th, 2018 – Mercury square Neptune
On December 24th, 2018 Mercury in Sagittarius is square Neptune at 13° Pisces. If you opened up to the creative possibilities that the Sun-Neptune square brought you at the beginning of the month, then Mercury square Neptune will bring you more details and show you what the next steps are.
If you feel stuck in your life now it’s time to take a different route. Even if that means to change something you believe in. Even if that means to leave your job. Even if that means to abandon your lifetime goals. You change, and your goals change too. No need to cling to the old.
Your mind will resist change – expect to be confused! But if you push through resistance, if you embrace confusion, then a whole world can open up to you.
“Gemini is the sign of duality. The Gemini Glyph is represented by the Roman number two, signifying the sign’s dual nature. The two parallel vertical lines are joined by two crescents. One cannot exist without the other.
Geminis are known for their ability to shape-shift and change in a flash. One personality is there one minute, only to be taken over by the other, the next minute.
But it is only in this space of duality and apparent conflict that life can emerge. Before we make a decision, we are firstly faced with the paradox of duality. Duality is a condition of life.”
That was at the time of the New Moon. 6 months have passed. The seed has blossomed into a beautiful flower. The beautiful flower is the Full Moon. Full Moons are times to bring what we have started to the highest form of manifestation. The 50% becomes 100%.
Gemini’smental chatter ultimately becomes a vision.
Uncertainty ultimately leads to certainty.
Ambivalence ultimately leads to action.
Every new beginning (even if it goes unnoticed) ultimately flowers into an output.
Every 50% eventually becomes 100% – that’s simply how life works.
The duality of 50/50 is where everything is possible. If 50% is the phase where you have complete free will and the power to shape your destiny, 100% is the result of the actions you have taken.
The closer we get to 100%, the less free will we have – at least in theory. In reality, the 100% is the result of every action, or every decision we’ve taken along the way.
When we don’t understand, when we are not aware of the actions we’re taken, of the choices we’ve made every day, along the way, we call the 100% fate.
When we pay attention to what we’re doing, (and Gemini is the sign that teaches us just that – to pay attention, to be curious) then 100% is not fate, is conscious co-creation with the divine.
The Full Moon’s ruler, Mercury, is now retrograde in the opposite sign, Sagittarius. The output, the 100% of the 50% you’ve started back in June might not be quite what you expected. It will likely come as a surprise. But you shouldn’t discount it by any means.
Mercury is conjunct Jupiter, the planet of the higher mind. The puzzle comes together. You can finally see the bigger picture now.
You can finally see the compound effect of what you’ve been doing in the last 6 months.
“I’m sorry for what I said when Mercury was in retrograde”
There are many myths about Mercury Retrograde:
“When retrograde, Mercury moves backward – so does my life”
“Mercury Retrograde makes me say the wrong things, makes my computer crash, and locks me out of my email”
“Don’t pay attention to what happens when Mercury is retrograde – wait until life gets back to normal”
“If you do something when Mercury is retrograde, you will regret it later”
“Don’t start anything new when Mercury is retrograde”
But is Mercury Retrograde really the root of all astrological evil? Should you never sign contracts, meet new people, go on a trip, or buy a new smartphone when Mercury is retrograde?
In fact, not only is Mercury Retrograde not as bad as its reputation, but Mercury Retrograde is, in fact, a great time to understand yourself and the world better, to make informed decisions, and to even start something new.
Let’s demonstrate this by debunking some common Mercury Retrograde myths.
Myth #1: When Retrograde, Mercury Moves Backward
Reality: Mercury only appears to move backward. Mercury only changes direction from our perspective, as seen from Earth. If we would look at Mercury from the cosmos, Mercury is still moving forward, circling around the Sun.
Yet, from here, we see it moving backward. This basically means that things are not what they seem when Mercury is retrograde. That is, from our perspective – as seen from the Earth. Seen with the Universe’s eyes, everything makes perfect sense.
Because things are not what they seem, that’s why astrologers advise not to make important decisions when Mercury is retrograde. Indeed, your perception of what’s really going on can be skewed.
But it’s one thing not to understand what’s going on – and another to put your life on hold because of that.
If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. If life brings you something when Mercury is retrograde, that’s because that thing requires your attention.
You can run, but you cannot hide from Mercury Retrograde. Best is to try to understand why things happen the way they happen when Mercury is retrograde, instead of building a wall around you.
Myth #2: Mercury Retrograde Brings Chaos In Communication, Makes Computers Crash, Makes You Sign The Wrong Contracts
Reality: When Mercury is retrograde, its speed is slower than usual. Mercury Retrograde takes its time. The reason Mercury Retrograde can bring chaos is that it points to those things that you may have overlooked while Mercury was direct.
And when we overlook something, of course, life feels like chaos. However, those overlooked elements are nevertheless important, otherwise Mercury Retrograde wouldn’t have brought them to your attention.
You may find yourself having to redo a lot of stuff when Mercury is retrograde, but that’s absolutely fine. Sometimes you need to take your time to understand what you’re doing, so you can do it right.
If anything, Mercury retrograde is the helping hand of the Universe that makes sure you stay on track and do the right thing.
When Mercury is direct and has a high speed, we tend to overlook some details. Mercury retrograde is nothing else but catching up with what we have missed, misunderstood or overlooked.
Mercury Retrograde does not create chaos, Mercury Retrograde clears up the chaos.
Myth #3: Don’t Pay Attention To What Happens When Mercury Is Retrograde. Wait Until Life Gets Back To Normal
Reality: When Mercury is retrograde, Mercury is at its closest to the Earth. This means we have ‘more’ Mercury energy than usual. If anything, now is the time to actually pay attention to Mercury, if you haven’t had time to catch up with Mercury when direct.
You absolutely have to pay attention to what happens in your life when Mercury is retrograde – otherwise, the chaos will only perpetrate when Mercury goes out of retrograde!
Myth #4: If You Do Something When Mercury Is Retrograde, You Will Regret It Later
Reality: If you do something when Mercury is retrograde – and chances are you will not lock yourself in a cave for the next 3 weeks – that thing may not turn out the way you expected, but it doesn’t mean it will turn out bad.
In fact, because Mercury is so close to the Earth when retrograde – and more powerful than ever – that thing will turn out exactly how it should turn out.
Whether or not we are happy with that, is a different story.
But in the big picture, whatever happens when Mercury is retrograde is exactly what should happen.
While you may regret what you did while Mercury is retrograde, your regret won’t last long. Rather sooner than later, you will realize that whatever happened while Mercury was retrograde served a higher good.
Myth #5 – Don’t Start Anything New When Mercury Is Retrograde
Reality: The short answer to this question is: don’t start something fundamentally new in the first 10-11 days of Mercury Retrograde. However, it’s absolutely fine (and even recommended) to start new things in the 2nd half of Mercury Retrograde.
From all myths, this one encounters the most resistance, because it absolutely goes against what we know about Mercury Retrograde. How is it possible to start something new when Mercury is retrograde?
But if we look at the actual Mercury cycle, then the statement makes absolute sense. Mercury has a 116-day synodic cycle. Every planet has sidereal and synodic cycles. For example, the Earth has a 365 cycle (this is what we call a year), and the Moon has a 29-day synodic cycle (this is what we call a month).
Mercury Retrograde is nothing else but a New Moon or a New Year – we could very well call it “New Mercury”.
In the middle of Mercury Retrograde, Mercury is conjunct the Sun (as seen from the Earth), and a new Mercury cycle begins. When Mercury is conjunct the Sun (half-way through Mercury Retrograde) we have the “New Moon” phase of Mercury.
And just as we are advised to start something new at a New Moon – when a new Moon cycle starts – in the same way, starting something new when a new Mercury cycle starts, makes absolute sense. So yes, it is absolutely fine (and even recommended) to start something completely new in the 2nd half of Mercury retrograde (but not before).
The Current Mercury Retrograde
Mercury goes retrograde on November 17, 2018, at 13°Sagittarius and goes direct on December 5th, 2018 at 27° Scorpio.
Mercury goes retrograde through the first half of Sagittarius. You may know already that on November 8th, 2018 Jupiter entered Sagittarius (its home sign) for a 13-months stay. Just like a brush, Mercury retrograde clears the path for Jupiter in Sagittarius.
Mercury and Jupiter have a very interesting relationship. Both Mercury and Jupiter and concerned with the mind. It is said that Mercury rules the ‘lower mind’, while Jupiter rules the ‘higher mind’.
There’s nothing inferior about the ‘lower mind’. The lower mind is the mind we are most accustomed with: it is the mind of our physical soul: what we see, how we make sense of the world, how we speak, how we listen, how we communicate. The lower mind comprises the five senses and it’s very concrete. The lower mind believes in what it can see, hear, smell, taste, and touch.
The higher mind (ruled by Jupiter) is our 6th sense, our ‘intuition’. When we put all the information we gather with our lower mind together, a bigger picture emerges. This is our higher, Jupiterian mind.
If Mercury is the pieces of the puzzle, Jupiter is the puzzle. We need both the lower mind and the higher mind, we need both Mercury and Jupiter in our lives.
But what does it mean that Mercury goes retrograde in the sign of Jupiter? It means that we need to clear the paths of our lower mind, so that in the coming year – when Jupiter travels through Sagittarius – the higher mind can connect the dots and put the pieces of the puzzle together.
Whatever it is that keeps your lower mind stuck in old patterns of behaviors, needs to be fixed now. Now is the time to clean your mind of any outdated beliefs, negative thoughts, compulsive behaviors, preconceptions, and prejudices.
Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius will help you do just that!
Mercury Retrograde Square Neptune
Mercury starts its retrograde with a square to Neptune. This can be a confusing aspect – you may know that Neptune is the planet of illusions.
But Neptune is much more than illusions. Neptune dissolves everything it touches. And right now, Neptune ‘dissolves’ Mercury. Before you think this is bad news, reflect upon this: Neptune only dissolves what you believe to be the truth. And yes, seeing your ‘truth’ dissolved can be discomforting.
In fact, there’s nothing wrong with our old ways of being. What it’s wrong, is getting stuck in old ways of being.
You have outgrown them. You are not the person you were yesterday. Take this opportunity to ‘dissolve’ outdated thoughts, ingrained judgments, unhealthy behaviors, resentments, half-truths, fears, or limiting beliefs. It’s time for a change. It’s time to do something different.
Neptune will show you there is another way – a better way – but you need to be willing to let go of old ways of being, thinking and doing.
Jupiter moves into Sagittarius for the first time in 12 years
Uranus moves back into Aries for 4 more months. That’s your last chance to take advantage of Uranus in Aries energy. The next chance will come in 84 years.
That’s a lot of change, isn’t it? Scorpio is a fixed sign, and fixed signs are not that fond of change. Yet, Scorpio is emotionally resilient. Right now, it’s nothing that you cannot handle.
Let There Be Healing
At the time of the New Moon, Jupiter is at 29°’49’ Scorpio. It’s been a long, tumultuous journey of healing with Jupiter in Scorpio. Jupiter in Scorpio exposed corruption and abuse of power. After Jupiter in Scorpio, the world will never be the same again.
And how does Jupiter end his transit in Scorpio? With a wonderful Grand Water Trine with North Node in Cancer and Chiron in Pisces. I cannot think of a more glorious note to end Jupiter’s transit in Scorpio. The grand trine is all about healing.
Yes, it’s been difficult. But now the work is done. We are ready to move on. Jupiter is now ready for the adventure of a lifetime. On November 8th Jupiter moves into Sagittarius, his home sign, and you too are ready for a new story.
The New Moon is at 15° Scorpio. 15° of a fixed sign is the midpoint between a solstice and an equinox. You are now at a crossroad, and it’s time to make a commitment. Do you want to keep going or do you give up?
“It’s not the strongest of the species that survive, but the one most responsive to change” – C. Darwin
Higher Forces At Play
If this New Moon feels like trouble, fear not. The New Moon in Scorpio makes two beautiful aspects with other planets: a sextile to Pluto (the New Moon ruler) and a trine to Neptune. These are positive, supporting aspects.
Neptune and Pluto are the farthest planets in our solar system. The farther a planet, the stronger the pull of fate, and the greater the potential for transcendence.
Right now, there are higher forces at play. This is a Divine intervention of the highest order. Accept this helping hand, and then move onto the next chapter of your life.
Karma is calling! That’s because the Lunar Nodes switched signs, more exactly the North Node moved into Cancer, and the South Node moved into Capricorn. The lunar nodes will stay in Cancer and Capricorn for 18 months, until May 5, 2020.
What The Nodes Are All About, And Why They Are Important
The Nodes always move backward – in fact, they are the only ‘planets’ that move backward. A good way to think about them is to think about a retrograde planet, with the distinction that a planet goes retrograde only a fraction of the time, while the Nodes are always retrograde.
That’s why the Lunar Nodes are associated with past lives and karma (the backward movement symbolizes going back in time).
But that’s not the only reason. The Nodes are where the Moon’s orbit crosses the ecliptic. The ecliptic is the apparent path the Sun makes around the earth. The Nodes thus where the divine design (the Sun) and material reality (Moon) meet.
The Lunar Nodes create the eclipses. We have two eclipse seasons every year and that’s when the world goes crazy. This is when events tend to happen on a large scale: kings and queens are born (or die), scientific breakthroughs or discoveries are made (or great natural disasters occur), wars end (or start).
Eclipses are ‘regulating’ our collective karma. Eclipses also ‘regulate’ our individual karma, especially when they align with sensitive points in our charts. This is when people like you and me have a strong pull to take action, to make a decision, to sort themselves out.
Year after year, with mathematical precision, at the eclipse season I get 5 times more messages than in any other time of the year. Why? Because people feel in their soul the call of destiny. And astrology speaks the language of the destiny, that’s why people feel drawn to it more than ever.
North Node vs. South Node
We have two lunar nodes, the North Node, and the South Node. Although both nodes are connected to karma, it is only the South Node that is connected to past lives and past karma.
The North Node instead is connected to our future karma and with the possibility for us to alter our karma. The North Node is our possibility to change the script of our destiny.
Why is the South Node connected to past karma? The South Node is also called the Descending Node because it is literally descending, going down. The South Node represents our unresolved karma, what we need to ‘sort out’ in this lifetime.
The South Node represents chances you haven’t taken, the opportunities you’ve missed, things you haven’t quite manifested in your past lives.
Let’s say you were a talented dancer in a past life. If you haven’t engaged with this talent, this talent will get passed on to your next lifetime, so that this time you will make good use of it. That’s why you were born with it in this lifetime. To finally make it work, to manifest it.
The question is, how to make it work? The answer is, through the North Node.
The North Node is the opposite of the South Node. If the South Node is familiar, the North Node is completely unfamiliar. The North Node is a skill you don’t master, that thing you stumble upon. Yet, your North Node is exactly what you need to master.
When you focus on the North Node, everything flows in perfect alignment with the universe. If I have to choose only one advice to give to my clients and students, that would be to focus on their North Node.
When people focus on their North Node, all their problems get solved. It’s as simple as that, yet it may not be that easy to follow this North Node, because at least at the beginning, you don’t know where you should start from.
But that’s what astrology is for, to show you something that you wouldn’t know otherwise.
Does that mean we should dismiss the South Node and completely focus on the North Node? No, not at all. Your South Node is, in fact, a gift. But it is a stagnant gift, a gift that needs to be taken in a different direction.
That direction is the North Node. The South Node gift becomes a problem when we get stuck in it and refuse to change. When we do the same things over and over again. The solution to the South Node problem is always the North Node.
The paradox is that once you solved the South Node problem with the North Node, the outcome is not the North Node, but the South Node. The South Node is the ripening karma, for good and for bad.
The Lunar Nodes equation:
Problem (South Node) → Solution (North Node) → Outcome (South Node)
Cancer and Capricorn – The Mother and the Father
Now that the North Node moves into Cancer and the South Node moves into Capricorn, you may wonder what it means. In traditional astrology, Cancer (and the ruling planet, the Moon) is the mother, and Capricorn (or the ruling planet, Saturn) is the father.
But it’s much more to these symbols.
Cancer is what makes us feel nurtured, safe, and protected (just like our mother’s womb fed and protected us). Cancer comes from Latin “crab” and the crab is protected by its shell. In the same way, Cancer represents our need to feel safe, to have a home.
Capricorn is the highest point in our chart, where the Sun shines at its brightest, and represents what we aim for. The highest point in a chart is also the point of greatest visibility, so Capricorn is also where we feel exposed. In the past, the women stayed in the cave to protect the weak (Cancer) while men went outside, got exposed, and fought against nature for survival. Capricorn rules hierarchies.
Both Cancer and Capricorn are about survival, but while Cancer meets this need in the inside, by creating a safe ‘home’ and inner resilience, Capricorn meets this need on the outside, by gaining status, respect, and by playing an important role in the hierarchy. The most primal needs of people are the needs of security (Cancer) and status (Capricorn).
What Does It Mean To Have North Node in Cancer And South Node in Capricorn?
As we said, the ‘problem’ is the South Node. A South Node in Capricorn is all about fighting to fit in, to gain status, to climb hierarchies, to meet goals, to have a career. But this comes at a price. When you put all your energy in the outside yourself, you neglect the inner world.
It is important to realize you cannot only work, work, work, work, work. The mountain goat might reach the top of the mountain, but it’s pretty lonely up there. When you’re always focusing on the next goal, on the next achievement, you forget who you are.
The solution? North Node in Cancer, i.e. building a strong inner foundation, nurturing yourself, doing what’s safe and comfortable.
The outcome? South Node in Capricorn, i.e. true progress, true achievements that come from a space of comfort and self-confidence. When you really know who you are, when you’re strong on the inside (North Node in Cancer) there is nothing that you can’t achieve (South Node in Capricorn).
Example: if you don’t get the promotion you are hoping for, the solution is not working harder. The solution is taking a holiday. Spending time with your family. Taking care of yourself. And the paradox is that when you do that, the promotion (or another achievement that is more aligned with who you are) always comes.
