Astrology Of November 2017 – Paradise Lost…And Found

November is a month of rediscovering your true essence and remembering what you have always known: that you are perfect as you are.

November is a highly spiritual month, thanks to Neptune which is very active throughout November.

If in September Neptune had challenging aspects, unleashing natural disasters and bringing chaos all around the world, this time around Neptune makes mainly positive aspects to other planets: a trine to the Sun, a sextile to the Full Moon, and a trine to Venus. On November 22nd Neptune stations and turns direct, bringing Neptunian themes into our consciousness.

Neptune will ask you to find a higher order in your life, to upgrade your existence to the next level of consciousness.

In November all personal planets are in aspect to their higher octave planets:

  • Mars is in aspect to Pluto – your individual perspective vs. the higher perspective, your will vs. divine will –> the transit will show you how to assert your unique self in a way that naturally fits in the grand scheme of things
  • Venus is in aspect to Neptune – your needs, your values and desires vs. the universal order –> the transit will show you how to transcend your needs and bring them to a higher vibration of universal love
  • Mercury is in aspect to Uranus – your lower mind vs. the higher mind –> the transit will show you how to connect your mind to the universal mind, how to develop your intuition and allow the divine knowledge to come to you

Water and Fire are the dominant energies in November, asking you to tune into your feelings, connect with the deeper current of your life and to allow inspiration to guide you.

This is not a month of new beginnings – wait until January 2018 to start your big, brave project. November is the month when you need to look inside – what truly defines you? What is the missing, overlooked element? How can you bring it to the next level of awareness?

Transformation is a process that most of us fear – it feels like we have to amputate a part of ourselves. But transformation is not always about destroying the old.

Transformation also means remembering who you really are – bringing into awareness that which has been unconscious or unknown, that part of you which has been forgotten.

November is a time to dig inside you, to find a higher order, an order that resonates better with the person you’ve become, who you’ve developed into.

On November 11th we also have the 3rd and final trine between Saturn and Uranus. Saturn in positive aspect to Uranus facilitates change and restructuring of the old self. The change is harmonious, this time you won’t resist it – you will embrace it effortlessly.

Change does not have to be about becoming someone else, but about rearranging the pieces of the puzzle in your life in a way that better serves your purpose.

Maybe it is not ‘something’ that is missing from your life – it is how everything fits in the bigger picture of your life that makes the difference.

Take what you already have and find a higher order, a better arrangement.

Deep inside our hearts, we all long for the lost paradise, for that place we all emerged from. We chase it all our lives: the perfect job, the perfect home, the perfect lover, the perfect relationship.

Neptune will show you that if you keep chasing it outside, it will keep on slipping through your fingers. But if you realize you have it inside you, if you realize you are already perfect – you will finally find it.

Let’s have a look at the major aspects of the month:

November

On November 3rd Sun is trine Neptune. Today you will be more idealistic than usual and you will want to bring your best self forward. And because you put your best self forward, because you act from your higher self – one of your dreams can come true today, one of your goals can be made real.

The good thing is that you don’t even have to put too much effort into it. You will simply attract it towards you. With Sun in aspect to Neptune, you have to take it easy. Neptune brings a very subtle, soft energy. Now is time to pull, rather than push.

On November 4th we have a Full Moon at 11° Taurus. This is a sweet full Moon making beautiful aspects to Neptune – the Moon is sextile to Neptune and Sun is trine to Neptune.

But that’s not the full story. The Full Moon ruler, Venus is exactly opposite Uranus, the planet of surprises. This makes the Full Moon in Taurus a great time for love and romance – don’t be afraid to venture yourself through unknown territories.

On November 5th Mercury enters Sagittarius. After spending several weeks in the deep waters of Scorpio, Mercury is now ready for a new adventure.

This placement favors big endeavors, big picture thinking, and is not so good for detail work. Sagittarius is about “believing without seeing”, about higher knowledge, beyond proofs and facts.

That’s why Mercury is in detriment in Sagittarius. Mercury is all about facts, and proofs, is about what you can see, hear, and touch. Our mind can get a bit confused in the coming weeks – the best way to deal with this transit it to allow your intuition to take over.

On November 7th Venus enters Scorpio. Love becomes ALL or NOTHING, more private, more mysterious, more intense. In the next weeks, making a deep, true connection with someone who understands you becomes more important than ever.

This is a good transit to boost intimacy in relationships. Just be aware that Venus in Scorpio needs trust. Be ready to offer your trust first. Don’t wait for the other to give it to you. They are going through the same process – someone has to make the first step.

On November 11th Saturn trines Uranus for the 3rd and last time. Saturn trine Uranus is one of the most important transits of the year.  Saturn represents our foundations, our security. Uranus is the pioneer of change. Saturn and Uranus represent the old and the new coming together.

You can now let go of some duties or responsibilities which restrict you. You can let go of some old habits which don’t serve you anymore and introduce new habits, new routines in your life. The transition will be smooth thanks to the positive aspect between Saturn and Uranus.

You will feel the benefits of this transit especially if you have planets or angles around 25° in Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) or if your ascendant is Capricorn or Aquarius.

On November 13th Venus is conjunct Jupiter and Mercury is square Neptune.

Today you will be more open than usual to the good things in life. You will feel more appreciation and gratitude for what life has to offer, and focus much more on the positive aspects of things.

You will also be more generous and more open not only to give, but also to receive love. Your self-worth will improve and you will feel more content about yourself, more at peace with who you are. As a result, the others will start appreciating you even more.

On November 16th Venus in Scorpio is trine Neptune in Pisces. Venus is the planet of love and Neptune is the planet of higher love. Needless to say that love vibrations will resonate at a higher frequency today.

If you are born in a water sign or if you have many planets in water signs you will feel like a fish in the water during this transit.

On November 18th we have a New Moon at 26° Scorpio. The New Moon is quincunx Uranus in Aries and the ruler of the New Moon, Pluto, is square Mars in Libra. This New Moon is Scorpio is pretty challenging and will ask you to find healthy ways to assert your power.

If you are the type of person who imposes their will on others, the New Moon will be particularly tough, because it will ask you to surrender to a higher power.

If in contrary, you have issues in asserting yourself, the New Moon will help you get in touch with your inner power.

On November 19th Mars is square Pluto, bringing our anger and frustration to the surface. We all have anger inside ourselves. Mars square Pluto will ask us to deal with it in one way or another.

Mars represents our self-will. Pluto is the higher octave of Mars, representing the Universe’s will, the higher power which is beyond our control. Because the two will clash, power struggles are inevitable.

Try to find a way to assert your will without entering into conflict with God. If frustration becomes overbearing, physical exercise can be a good way to deal with it.

If you have planets around 17° in Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) you will be especially effected by this transit.

On November 21st  Sun enters Sagittarius. Happy birthday to all Sagittarius out there! Now is that time of the year to seek the truth, to search for meaning. Go into the world with faith – the Universe has your back!

On November 22nd Neptune goes direct at 11° Pisces. You will be reminded that you are part of something larger than yourself.

On November 25th Mercury in Sagittarius is trine Uranus in Aries. Writing, media, communication, crafting, DYI are favored. The quantity of emails, phones, internet activity can increase. If you have a trip planned today it will be particularly exciting.

This is a great day for inspirations of any kind. You mind will start downloading brilliant ideas from a higher source. Divine inspiration can come to you in the flash of a moment.

On November 27th Mercury is conjunct Saturn. This is a good day to organize, make plans, study, learn, do research, or any kind of activity which requires focus. If you have a project you’ve been postponing – this is a good time to tackle it and bring it to a completion, because your discipline, your concentration, your focus are at an all times high.

If you have planets or angles around 27° Sagittarius, or if your ascendant is Gemini, Virgo or Capricorn you will especially benefit from this transit.

Sun Conjunct Jupiter – A New Cycle Of Growth, Abundance And Transformation

Sun is conjunct Jupiter at 3° Scorpio. The Sun and Jupiter meet once a year to start a new cycle of growth and abundance.

Sun conjunct Jupiter is one of the most auspicious aspects in astrology. Sun represents our individuality, Sun is the planet we relate with the most. Sun is the biggest planet, the giver of light and life.

The Moon, the planets and the stars can only shine by light reflected from the Sun. When the Moon shines in the sky, it is actually reflected sunlight that you see. The Sun is the filter through which we see and make sense of the world.

Jupiter is the next biggest planet, in fact it’s the biggest planet in our solar system if we count the Sun as a star (in Astrology though, both the Sun and the Moon are referred to as ‘planets’ even if in fact they are not –  the Sun is a star, and the Moon is a satellite).

Jupiter, the giant gas ball, is associated in astrology with growth, expansion, abundance and good fortune. Jupiter is a big bubble – its solid rock is assumed to be not much larger that any other ‘solid’ planet such as the Earth, Venus, Mars, Mercury or Pluto. But because of the gas, Jupiter appears to be massive.

One can argue that its giant size is just a facade, and that Jupiter just appears to be a giant, when in fact, it is not. But things are not that simple. Jupiter has always been associated with belief and faith.

Faith – think a bit about it. We all need it. We need to have faith to move from one state of being to another, to start something new. And faith is a bit like a gas bubble. We cannot touch it, but it inspires us to move on and grow.

If you don’t believe in yourself, if you don’t believe in your prospects for success, what are the chances of undertaking the next challenge? Of going for your dreams?

We all need Jupiter in our life, we need something to believe in, something greater than ourselves.

Imagine a world without Jupiter. A world where Saturn is the biggest planet. Imagine a word where every little step comes with doubt, with disbelief. How much progress do you think is possible in such a scenario?

If Saturn corresponds to what psychologists call the “fixed mindset”, Jupiter is about the “growth mindset”.

We have a fixed mindset when we believe our talents and our resources are scarce and static. We have a growth mindset when we believe that we can continuously develop our abilities through dedication and hard work.

What makes the difference between the fixed and the growth mindset? The belief that growth and progress are possible.

“In a fixed mindset students believe their basic abilities, their intelligence, their talents, are just fixed traits. They have a certain amount and that’s that, and then their goal becomes to look smart all the time and never look dumb. In a growth mindset students understand that their talents and abilities can be developed through effort, good teaching and persistence. They don’t necessarily think everyone’s the same or anyone can be Einstein, but they believe everyone can get smarter if they work at it.” – Carol Dwek

Let’s come back to Sun conjunct Jupiter.

Sun and Jupiter have many things in common: both Sun and Jupiter are spiritual, masculine planets, they are both generous, they are both interested in growth and progress.

When Sun and Jupiter meet we have the two big giants coming to create something even greater together.

Sun conjunct Jupiter is an auspicious time to start a big venture, a big project, to do that thing you always wanted to do but you were too afraid of. Jupiter will give you the dose of optimism you need, the faith that the universe is there to support you in your most daring endeavors.

Sun and Jupiter meet at the 3rd degree of Scorpio, enhancing Scorpio themes: shared resources, transformation, crises of all sorts, sex and intimacy, legacies of any kind.

Scorpio is all you share with others, the good and the bad: a Scorpio transit can bring you an inheritance, but can also bring taxes to be paid.

Scorpio is about what you can win without putting any effort, and also about what you can lose even if you have not done anything wrong. Scorpio is your legacy.

Scorpio rules the big cycles of life, birth and death – all the things we don’t have any say about. The most truthful and brutal things in life. Scorpio rules our instinct to reproduce ourselves, our instinct to die, the way we use and mis-use power.

Sigmund Freud who had a Scorpio Ascendant, described life as a conflict between our instinct to reproduce ourselves and our drive to die. It is the conflict between the sexual urge of Eros (Greek God of lust) and the urge of Thanatos (Greek God of death), that allows life as we know it.

Sun Jupiter Scorpio

No wonder Scorpio is associated with crises – Scorpio wants to bring to the surface all the debris, so you can move on to the next level of your life.

Sometimes you need to delve into the depths to pull yourself into the light. Sometimes you need to fight againts two different forces which pull you in different directions. This existential conflict is the very essence of Scorpio.

Jupiter ingress into Scorpio coincided with the Weinstein scandal and with the #metoo movement. Jupiter magnified and brought into our awareness all the Scorpionic themes: sex, crises, dealing with the taboo, bringing secrets to the surface.

Sexual abuse, the misuse of power have always been taboo topics. But it is only by talking openly about them, by bringing them into the awareness, that we can heal them and transform ourselves.

Transformation can take place when you let the old you die off to make space for the new. The good news with Jupiter is that the new you will be all about growth and expansion. Because Jupiter is the great benefactor, the transition will be smooth, and you will receive all the support you need.

Jupiter is the guru, the preacher, the spiritual teacher. He wants you to become a guru, a teacher yourself by getting in touch with the most intimate, forbidden, taboo sides of your psyche. A therapist, a psychologist is the ultimate achetype of Jupiter conjunct Sun in Scorpio.

Sun conjunct Jupiter will invite you to get in touch with the guru, with the believer, with the teacher inside you.

Do you believe you have all the resources you need to expand your life?

Are you ready to confront the darker side of yourself in the process?

How can you become the greatest possible version of yourself? What is ONE THING you need to let go off? What is ONE THING you want to invite into your life to allow transformation to happen?

New Moon in Libra – A Sudden Flash Of Divine Insight

Every New Moon is special, but this particular New Moon in Libra is truly special. Why is that? Because it’s EXACTLY opposite Uranus, the planet of revolutions, surprises – the planet of being true to one’s self.

More exactly, the New Moon in Libra takes place on October 19th at 26°35’ in Libra, while Uranus is at 26°31’in Aries. The opposition between the New Moon and Uranus is within an orb of 0°04’. Very rarely we have such a close configuration occurring at the same time with a New Moon.

Uranus New Moon

What exactly does it mean to have a New Moon in Libra in opposition to Uranus?

Firstly, what is a New Moon? A new Moon occurs at the magic moment when the Sun, the divine masculine, aligns with the Moon, the divine Feminine, to start a new cycle of creation.

We have a New Moon every month, one New Moon in each of the 12 zodiac signs. The New Moon is that time of the year when we have a new beginning related to the themes of the sign where it takes place.

Last month we had a new Moon in Virgo, and in November we are going to have a new Moon in Scorpio.

This month we have a New Moon in Libra, meaning that we are going to experience new beginnings related to Libra: relationships, partnerships of any kind, beauty, harmony, peace, and justice.

If in the first six signs, from Aries to Virgo, we relate to the world based on our own personal experiences, in Libra we realize that we don’t have all the answers, and we start to look for answers outside ourselves.

That’s why Libra rules relationships – it’s within the sign of Libra that the soul does not want to be alone anymore, and wants to merge with another instead.

According to the Greek mythology, at the beginning of time, humans originated in pairs, bound within one body, within one soul. But Zeus started to fear power of this bond, and he split them in two.

Because they could not bear their loneliness,  the ‘halves’ started to wander the Earth in search of their lost soul mate, to reunite and become whole again.

This is the myth of the soulmate – each time we have a New Moon in Libra, we crave to unite with whatever it is that is missing from our lives.

“Love is born into every human being; it calls back the halves of our original nature together; it tries to make one out of two and heal the wound of human nature.” ― Plato, The Symposium

What is it that is missing from your life?

Look in which house you have Libra to get more clues of what you need to reunite with on October 19th.

New Moons are not easy to grasp.

At this phase of the lunar cycle, the Moon is completely invisible, disappearing from the sky into the Sun’s glare. This is a time of insight, this is a time to design a new blueprint. Few days later, when the Moon becomes visible again, we can actually go into the world to manifest the intention.

Starting something new at the time of the New Moon does not mean you have to literally do something, manifest something material – it simply means a new insight will come into your awareness.

And here comes Uranus.

In this dark mysterious place, where a new genesis begins, here comes Uranus, like lightning, to say “I’ve come here to liberate you”.

In that space, where everything is possible, here it comes, the God of the sky, bringing you the divine insight, bringing you the fire stolen from the Gods to light your way.

Uranus is the ultimate rebel – whether you like his ways or not, Uranus comes to liberate you, to show you there is a higher plan for you.

On October 19th, Uranus will bring you one insight that will turn your life upside down, but will also set you on the path of your true purpose and liberation.

Because Uranus is still retrograde, the insight will come from the realm of the unconscious.

The insight will come all of the sudden. Uranus is the God of the sky, the planet of higher intellect and higher wisdom – the message will come like a flash of lightning. You will have a sudden awareness of what you need to do.

Don’t expect anything like a Mercury insight. Mercury makes sense of the world through the 5 senses: sight, sound, smell, touch, or taste. Uranus is the 6th sense, which has nothing to do with the world as we know it.

So if we put everything together, what does it mean to have a New Moon in Libra opposite the Great Awakener, Uranus?

It means that a major insight will come to you and bring balance into your life, and will make you feel whole again.

With the New Moon in Libra opposite Uranus, you will find harmony by embracing the truth.

The truth will at first shake you, and will then it will set you free.

Sometimes we work so hard, and nothing goes our way. And then, all of a sudden, in the blink of a second our life is changed forever.

Uranus aspecting the New Moon will ask you to invite possibilities in your life. If you are not going anywhere on your current path, maybe the time has come to change course, to do something completely different.

Because Uranus is in Aries, the sign farthest away from Libra, you might need to do something completely different indeed.

What are you in denial about? Uranus will come to expose any blind spot, and will make you see things from a completely different perspective.

Maybe what you think you want is not really what you need. Maybe you need something completely different to feel whole again.

The Sabian for the New Moon in Libra is “An Airplane Sails, High In The Clear Sky”. What a beautiful metaphor for Uranus, the God of the sky.  A new path is open, to make way for new possibilities and new adventures.

You can finally find freedom from the limitations of human consciousness, freedom from separation. You have never been half of a whole. You are whole; that is your true nature.

Jupiter In Scorpio 2017-2018 – How It Is Going To Affect You

Did you feel the energy shift?

Jupiter just changed signs and entered Scorpio to stay there until November 8th 2018.

Jupiter has a 12-year cycle, meaning that it spends approximately one year in each sign. That’s why Jupiter changing signs is the astrological event of the year.

Maybe you already felt the shift in one area of your life. When Jupiter changes signs, it moves from one house of your natal chart to the next.

If you are a Libra ascendant, Jupiter moved from your 1st house to the 2nd house. If you are a Scorpio Ascendant, Jupiter moved from your 12th house to your 1st house.

Jupiter moving into Scorpio basically means that the energy of Jupiter will start activating a different part of your chart.

Jupiter-Astro-Butterfly

Until October 2017, Jupiter has been in Libra, expanding Libra themes: relationships, beauty, fairness, justice. In Scorpio, Jupiter will expand Scorpio themes: transformation, shared resources, intimacy, psychology, power, healing.

Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system, is almost like a second Sun. Thanks to its massive size and strong magnetic field, Jupiter has protected the Earth from asteroid impacts that would have destroyed us otherwise.

We wouldn’t be here without Jupiter! No wonder that in any school or tradition of Astrology, Jupiter is seen as the great benefactor, the luckiest and most benevolent planet.

Jupiter or Zeus, the king of God, is the all mighty, unquestionable force of the universe which always works in your favor. Whatever Jupiter touches, it makes it grow.

But what happens when Scorpio is put under the magnifying glass of Jupiter? Think about some people you know with strong Scorpionic energy. Jupiter transiting in Scorpio will be like a Scorpio on steroids.

For Scorpio, everything is “all or nothing”, black or white, death or alive, love or hate – no in betweens. Scorpio wants you to transform yourself so you can become more resilient and grow into the next version of yourself.

In the process, Scorpio cuts the cords of the past, sheds the old, purges, releases toxins, explores the taboo, confronts psychological daemons – does whatever it takes so you can heal and grow.

And Jupiter in Scorpio? Jupiter in Scorpio will do even more of that. In the coming 13 months, every day, every encounter, everything will serve as an opportunity for transformation.

Are you afraid? Jupiter in Scorpio is not. Whatever your greatest fear is, Jupiter is going to make you explore it in the coming year. If you resist the process, you are going to suffer. If you go with it, you are going to be a different person at the end of the transit. Once you heal the ‘dark side’ it no longer has any power over you.

Jupiter is the natural ruler of Sagittarius, and in Scorpio, Jupiter is in its natural 12th house and therefore has a ‘Piscean’ flavour. Scorpio is the sign where Jupiter sheds his skin before it starts a new cycle in November next year.

Is Scorpio, Jupiter retreats from the world and is less gregarious than we used to know him. In Scorpio, Jupiter wants to take his time to reflect and – yes – heal himself.

Jupiter is Scorpio will therefore bring deep healing for all of us. This is the year when you can get insights from the darkest corners of your psyche – Jupiter will bring them to the surface so healing can happen.

So far, it doesn’t sound like the best transit out there.

Now the good news.

Jupiter in Scorpio is going to be a great transit.

If in Libra, Jupiter received challenging aspects from Pluto (3 squares) and from Uranus (3 oppositions, we are still recovering from the last one) – in Scorpio, Jupiter is going to make mainly positive aspects.

One of the most beautiful transits we can get in a lifetime is Jupiter trine Neptune. The planet of luck and abundance in perfect alignment with the planet of God and higher beauty. And yes, we are going to have 3 such beautiful transits in the coming months.

Jupiter will trine Neptune on:

  • December 3rd 2017 – Jupiter direct 11° in Scorpio trine Neptune direct 11° in Pisces
  • May 25th 2018 – Jupiter retrograde at 16° Scorpio trine Neptune direct at 16° Pisces
  • August 19th 2018 – Jupiter direct at 15° Scorpio trine Neptune retrograde at 15° Pisces

If you have planets between 10° and 17° in Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces, you are going to have an amazing time in the coming months.

Moreover, Jupiter will also sextile Pluto three times – between January and September 2018, a great transit for intimacy and healing.

Jupiter makes mainly positive aspects in the coming year, and this is a blessing. You needed this after a turbulent Jupiter in Libra. Jupiter in Scorpio will bring the long-awaited healing and will restore your faith in life.

If you still haven’t found what you are looking for in life, Jupiter in Scorpio will ask you to stop looking, and simply surrender and have faith that the universe will guide you the way. If you do that, you might just well find it.

Venus Conjunct Mars – The Cosmic Lovers Meet, A New Relationship Cycle Begins

Venus is conjunct Mars at 19° Virgo and a new relationship cycle begins.

Venus and Mars meet up in the sky on October 5th, exactly at the time of the Full Moon in Aries.  Last time we had a Venus Mars conjunction was in November 2015 and the next one will take place in August 2019.

A Venus Mars conjunction happens once every 2 years and marks a new beginning in relationships and partnerships of any kind. Like a New Moon, new planetary cycles offer a fresh beginning.

Venus Mars cycles repeat themselves every 32 years – we had nearly the same conjunction on the same day 32 years back, on October 5th 1985. Try to remember what happened back then, as this conjunction will have a similar energy.

Venus and Mars are the cosmic lovers and in astrology they describe attraction, love and relationships. Mars rules Aries and Venus rules Libra – Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, ruling the Ascendant and the 1st house, Mars is “I”. Venus is the 7th sign of the zodiac and rules the 7th house, or the descendant, and stands for the “The Other”

Even people who are not very familiar with astrology know that Venus stands for the feminine, and Mars, for the masculine. The astrological symbols for Venus and Mars are identical to those used in biology to identify sexes.

One of the most famous books of all time, “Men are from Mars, women are from Venus” shows the polarity of the two energies – Mars, the assertive, masculine energy, and Venus, the feminine, receptive energy.

Venus Mars

If you look in the sky, it makes sense that Venus and Mars are all about relating. Venus is the next planet inward from Earth, and Mars is the next planet outward. As in astrology we take the Earth as the centre, Venus and Mars are two planets on the right and on the left.

While Mars relates to the world by taking the lead, acting, doing, Venus relates to the world by sending subtle messages and choosing what she likes, and rejecting what she doesn’t. Mars rules war, Venus rules the law of attraction.

It is not that Venus does not take the lead. In fact, Venus is the one that chooses, and invites Mars to get closer. In courtship, it is Venus who sends the courtship signals, makes eye contact and smiles to Mars. And only then Mars is “allowed” to approach Venus.

When Mars comes to Venus without being invited, he might get some success, but all research and studies show that this “success” is short lived. It takes two to tango.

To have long lasting attraction, Venus and Mars need to express their role in a natural way. Venus sends the signal, Mars approaches, Venus chooses and the courtship goes on.

Venus and Mars are planets of polarity, irrespective of one’s gender or sexual orientation. In homosexual couples usually one of the partners takes the Venus role, and the other the Mars role.

It is so important that polarity exists in relationships, that life cannot be created without it. We won’t be here without Mars and Venus. Is it the passion between Venus and Mars, the “secret mix” between the two, that allows creation to take place.

Without a “chemical reaction” between Venus and Mars, we cannot create anything. The world around us is made out of polarities, we have yin and yang, 0 and 1, the North Pole and the South Pole.

The opposite poles of two magnets attract each other, but their similar poles repel each other. That’s why we need both Venus and Mars to create a “magnetic field”.

And as no magnet has only one pole, we both have a Venus and a Mars inside us.

Most creative people in the world tend to have Venus Mars aspects in their natal chart, especially the conjunction.

Van Gogh, Hitler, Mahatma Gandhi, Bette Davis, Al Pacino, Amy Winehouse, Kanye West, Bruce Lee, Joaquin Phoenix, Bruno Mars – they all have the Venus conjunct Mars signature.

In Astrology, Venus-Mars conjunctions are a great time to start new relationships, especially when Venus and Mars rise in the morning sky as they do now.

When Venus and Mars rise before the Sun, they have not been “burned by the Sun”, they have not got into the “Ego zone” yet, and can express their qualities freely.

This does not mean evening conjunctions are not benefic, but they express different planetary qualities. For new beginnings, morning rise planets are the best.

The Venus Mars conjunction on Thursday, October 5th has the Sabian symbol “A Caravan of Cars headed to the West Coast”, symbolizing a group of people journeying together in order to reach a common purpose.

Venus is the Divine Feminine and Mars is the Divine Masculine, so when these two planets meet, they express a special energy that we can all benefit from.

When we master the Divine Feminine, when we master the Divine Masculine, when we allow them to blend into one another, this is when we become “one” with the divine consciousness.

The conjunction of  Mars and Venus will ask us to balance our masculine and feminine energy.  When the masculine and the feminine energies are in balance, we experience a state of easiness, flow and great vitality.

If you feel tired or unmotivated it could well be because there is an imbalance in the expression of the Mars energy, of the Venus energy, or both.

You can balance your Mars energy by surrounding yourself with good masculine role models, by watching hero movies or reading hero books, by asserting yourself when you are taken for granted.

You can balance your Venus energy by spending time with good Venusian role models, by discussing about relationships with people you trust, by developing compassion and appreciation.

Look at where Venus and Mars are in your chart. Is Venus in a feminine sign or in a masculine sign? What about Mars?

Venus and Mars are also crucial in synastry when you want to assess the potential of a romantic relationship.

There are many indicators which describe compatibility, such as Sun and Moon, but if you want to understand the potential for intimacy, passion and sexual chemistry in a relationship, look at your Mars and Venus placement and at your partner’s Mars and Venus placements.

If you are a woman or take the feminine role in a relationship, and your Venus or your Mars are in feminine signs (Yin), a good match for you is a partner who has Venus and Mars in masculine signs (Yang).

If your Venus and Mars are in masculine signs (Yang), again, you are still better off with a partner who also has Venus and Mars in masculine signs, especially Mars.

When a woman is Yin, she needs a stronger men, with more masculine energy. When a woman is Yang, she needs an even stronger men.

If you are a man or take the masculine role in a relationship, and your Venus or your Mars are in feminine signs (Yin), look for a partner who has their Venus and Mars in feminine signs (Yin). If your Venus or Mars are in masculine signs (Yang), both partners with feminine or masculine Venus and Mars are a good match.

When a man is Yang, he needs a softer partner, with more feminine energy. When a man is Yin, he needs an even softer partner.

A Yang Woman with a Yin man is the most difficult combination, but it can be overcome with awareness and acceptance. Physical chemistry is not a “make or break” element anymore in an enlightened, mature relationship.

You will feel the energy of the Venus Mars conjunction stronger if you have Aries, Taurus, Libra, Scorpio ascendant or if you have personal planets or angles around 19° Virgo.
