The Astrology Of October – Jupiter Moves Into Scorpio And INTENSE Full Moon In Aries

Good news! October is a much better month than September. The energy shifts from Virgo, to Libra and Scorpio, and we will have less volatility, and more focus.

October will be such a relief after a confusing September! Because we have a shift from Mutable, to Cardinal and Fixed energy, we will finally be able to leave the past behind and move on with our life.

Jupiter moves into Scorpio on October 10th/ October 11th, depending where you live. Jupiter in Scorpio is not only the most important astrological event of the month, but also one of the most important astrological events of the year.

Jupiter only changes signs once a year – bringing a complete shift of energy in the area of your life ruled by Jupiter.

We also have an extremely intense Full Moon in Aries on October 5th – and in the same day, Venus and Mars, the two celestial lovers meet in the morning sky in a conjunction.

A new romantic cycle is about to start. Many people can experience new beginnings in relationships or reach a culmination point in existing relationships.

October is very good for intimacy, having truthful conversations, being honest about our needs, and in the same time being receptive to other people’s needs. We’re all in this together.

Let’s have a look at the major aspects of the month:

October

The month starts with a bang! Mars, the God of war trines Pluto, the God of the underworld on October 1st. Today we can get in touch with our deepest motivations and passions. This is a highly intense transit, even if it is a trine, because of Pluto. Even a tiny sextile to Pluto can set someone on fire!

The trine will give you a “taste” of what you really, really want. Later on, when Mars will actually square Pluto, you will be ready to set yourself into action.

On October 3rd is Venus’ turn to trine Pluto, bringing even more intensity, even more passion, but this time the passion will be experienced in a less assertive, masculine way, and in a more receptive, feminine way.

The trine of Venus and Pluto can bring deep longings and desires to the surface and make us crave deep love and intimacy.

On October 5th we have probably the most intense Full Moons of the year. This Full Moon is all about relationships, because it takes place on the Aries/ Libra relationship axis. Moreover,  in the same day Venus, the ruler of the Sun in Libra, is conjunct Mars, the ruler of the Full Moon, at 19° Virgo.

The two lovers meet. Venus and Mars are still stirred with desire from the Pluto transits, but the two lovers are also approaching a square to Saturn. This configuration will ask you some profound questions about your relationships. Are you really supposed to do what you want, and fully embrace your deepest longings? If so, are you willing to take the consequences?

On October 8th Mercury is conjunct Sun and we are in the middle of the Mercury cycle. Mercury and Sun are at 15°, in the middle of Libra, and Libra stands for being in the middle, for finding the balance. So do that! Strive to find that point of perfect equilibrium, align your mind with your spirit.

October 9th is a VERY intense day as both Mercury and Sun square Pluto. These transits are a call for authenticity, and will force us to be more honest about who we really are. Jupiter is now in the last degree of Libra asking us to “sort out” the area of our life ruled by Libra.

October 10th is the big day. Jupiter enters Scorpio. This is great news for everyone, because, let’s be honest, Jupiter did not have such a peaceful time in Libra.

Remember the three squares to Pluto and the three oppositions to Uranus?  Jupiter will feel much better  in Scorpio because it will make some very positive transits to Neptune and Pluto.

Jupiter will trine Neptune, a very positive transit that will make all our dreams come true. Neptune stands for dreams and Jupiter stands for faith. No more limiting beliefs, no more self-doubt. Jupiter will make it easy for all of us.

Jupiter will also sextile Pluto, allowing us to use our personal power in a positive, transcendental way.

Of course, Scorpio is all about transformation, so Jupiter in Scorpio will indeed take you to the dark corners of yourself, to show you that very thing you are afraid of, and will bring it to the  surface so you can completely transform your life. For good. Jupiter in Scorpio will make you feel alive again.

On October 11th Mars is square Saturn. This is a challenging aspect because Mars wants to act, and Saturn wants to be cautious and avoid risks.

Imagine you are in your car, driving.  Mars is the accelerator, and Saturn is the brake. All is well when you push the accelerator when you’re on the highway and there’s no traffic, and all is well also when you push the brake if you want to slow down.

But what happens if you want to accelerate, you are in rush, but you are caught in traffic? Or, on contrary, it’s raining outside and you have the worst visibility, you would like to take it easy, but you need to be at an important meeting and is getting late. You push the accelerator even if you don’t feel comfortable.

This was a long introduction for what Mars square Saturn stands for. You get the message. The aspect is likely to get you out of your comfort zone, but this is where the silver lining is: by stepping out of your comfort zone you grow into an adult. You know what you want, and you also know that to get what you want you need to develop certain skills, and you need to have patience.

You will feel this transit especially if you have Aries or Capricorn ascendant, or if you have personal planets or angles around 22° in mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces).

On October 14th Venus enters her domicile, Libra and your life will become a little bit more beautiful. Venus feels good and elegant in Libra.

Venus in Libra means that we can enjoy what Venus stands for in a more easy going, straightforward way: relationships become smother, the food tastes better, and life flows more naturally.

You will especially benefit from this transit if you are a Libra or if you have Libra ascendant.

On October 15th Mercury is opposite Uranus and some weird ideas can come to you seemingly out of nowhere. Yes, it is ok to tell share them with others, but try not to offend anyone.   Because Jupiter and Sun are close by, the confrontational energy can build up.

On a positive note, you can have some big breakthroughs and revelations today – some things can finally start making sense now, especially if you have planets or angles around 26° in Libra or Aries.

On October 17th Mercury enters Scorpio and our communication, our thoughts, our ideas become more profound and intimate.

The next 3 weeks are a good time to do any type of introspection and psychological work. Mercury in Scorpio is a good time to understand some big truths, some fundamental things in life, but this time, you will make sense of them in your own terms.

Mercury in Scorpio stands for personal truths, not universal truths. You will have time to explore universal truths when Mercury moves into Sagittarius in November.

On October 18th Mercury is conjunct Jupiter in the 1st degree of Scorpio. If you are born at the beginning of the sign, or if you have personal planets round 1° of Scorpio, this is a great day to communicate your vision to the world.

Mercury conjunct Jupiter is a good time to deliver an inspirational speech, or if you are looking for funding, this is a good time to give a presentation to investors. You can be very articulate and authentic and convince anyone about your big opportunity.

On October 19th we have a radical, freedom seeking New Moon in Libra in an EXACT opposition to Uranus. Something completely unpredictable can turn your life upside down. Now you can make some decisions that can change your life completely.

Because the New Moon is in Libra, the freedom you are seeking right now is not about being on your own, or doing what you want. Libra is about relationships, is about the other.

You can discover new ways to improve your relationship, by allowing yourself and your partner more freedom. Maybe you always feared being in relationships because you like to travel, and you thought a relationship will restrict your freedom of movement.

But it does not have to be that way. Maybe you can travel the world and be in a relationship in the same time. You can have it all, if you keep your mind open.

On October 22nd Mars enters Libra and our desire to assert ourselves slows down. During its stay in Libra, Mars will direct its assertive energy in the field of relationships.

Mars is in fall in Libra – being assertive, being bold, being a fighter, being a warrior, would suit an Aries, a Scorpio, but not a Libra. Libra is too concerned about the others to care that much about asserting herself.

But it all depends on what you are fighting for. Who says you only have to fight for yourself? If instead of fighting for your own interest, you fight for other people’s interests, you can benefit greatly from the transit of Mars in Libra.

There’s no secret that the best lawyers, best generals in the army are Libras. This is because they know how to direct the Martian energy into what Libra stands for: the others.

In the next 6 weeks, if you chose to fight for justice and fairness, your arguments can be very strong and persuasive. Now is a good time to stand up for a colleague, or for your partner.

On October 23rd Sun enters Scorpio. Happy birthday to all Scorpios out there, in the coming month you will have both Sun and Jupiter in your sign, so make sure you make the best out of this very positive energy. October and November are going to be great months for you.

On October 24th Mercury is trine Neptune. Both Mercury and Neptune are in water signs, so today you will be unusually empathetic. It is a good time to talk about your emotions with your partner or with a friend in need. You will be unusually open to their point of view, and so will them – have that conversation, something very beautiful and healing can happen.

We have the annual Sun Jupiter conjunction on October 26th. This is one of the most upbeat and positive transits in the year which will give us a taste of Jupiter’s stay in Scorpio. This is a good transit to start a new project, especially a project related to Scorpio matters.

October ends on the same intense tone it has started, with a square between Venus and Pluto on October 28th.

Remember how October started, with a trine from Venus and Mars to Pluto? After all has been said and done, you are now ready to act, to move in the direction of your deepest desires.

You will feel this transit stronger if you have Taurus, Libra or Scorpio ascendant or if you have planets or angles around 17° in Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn).

How To Read Transits In Your Natal Chart – Step By Step Instructions

Astrology can be confusing and overwhelming. You may or may be not familiar with the word “transit” – astrologers tend to use this term a lot because it is a very important part of astrology, and it is especially important in predictive astrology.

Maybe you are not familiar with the term “transit” but you read that “Jupiter moves into Scorpio” or “Venus switches signs and is now in Virgo” – these are in fact, planetary transits.

But most important, you want to know how a transit is going to affect you. What does it mean for you that Jupiter moves into Scorpio? What does it mean for you that Venus is now in Virgo?

If an astrologer says “look at where you have 28° Leo in your natal chart to see how the Eclipse is going to affect you” – how do you know where you have 28° Leo?

To understand how the planetary transits are going to affect you, let’s firstly try to explain what a transit is.

Every day the sky is changing. In Astrology, the movements of the planets in the sky relative to the Earth are called ‘Transits’.

When the Sun moves across the sky, and rises a little bit east or west than it did the day before, that is a transit. The transit of the Sun.

When the Moon is Full and shines bright in the night sky, or when the Moon is a tiny sliver of a crescent waxing moon, that is a transit. The transit of the Moon.

In the same way, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, rise and set in a different place in the sky every day. These are also transits.

Let’s look at the definition of the word “transit” – “the act or fact of passing across or through; passage from one place to another”.

We now understand that a “transit” is only relative to something. When you want to know how a planetary transit is going to affect you, you are in fact looking at your natal chart, transited by the planets in a specific moment in time.

A transit chart is always a comparison between the sky at the moment of your birth with the sky at a specific moment in time.

Let’s say your birthday is January 1st 1070. This is your natal chart, and it never changes. However, a transit can be in any moment in time. You can look for transits on June 5th 1998, or October 10th 2017, basically any moment in time, in the past of future.

Below I will take you step by step through the process of reading transits, so that you learn how exactly the planetary transits are going to affect you.

Of course, you can follow the process with other people’s natal charts, and will be able to find out how the transits are going to affect them.

Let’s start.

Firstly, you will create your natal chart. There are several websites where you can generate your chart – we will use astro.com

Go to www.astro.com

1. On the astro.com landing page you click on “Free horoscopes”

2. You will then be prompted to the page below. Click on “Extended chart selection”

3. Go to the “guest user” section and click on “click here to go to the data entry page”. (later if you wish you can also create and account on astro.com to store your data)

4. You will know create your guest profile to generate your natal chart. Put your name down and the birth details: birthday, time of birth, country, and birth town as shown below:

4 How to read transits Astro Butterfly

5. Almost there! You now go to “Chart type” and scroll down until you find “Natal chart and transits”. Then you select “Natal chart and transits”

You then go to “Start date for charts marked with*” and you put the date for the transit you are interested in. If you are interested in the transits for today, you leave it as it is, because the current date is set by default.

If you are interested in let’s say the date when Jupiter moves into Scorpio, which is October 10th, you then put this date “10 Oct 2017”

Lastly, go to “House system” and select “whole signs”

That’s it!

5 How to read transits Astro Butterfly

6. Your chart and the planetary transits for October 10th 2017 are generated! All the planets inside the wheel, colored black, represent the position of the planets at the time of your birth. This is your natal chart. The planets outside the circle, colored green, represent the transits, i.e. the position of the planets in the sky on October 10th

When you read transits, what you really do, is to compare the position of the planets at the time when you were born, with the position of the planets for the date you want to forecast.

Now you know that “transit” in astrology means a comparison – between the sky at the time when you were born, with the sky at a given date. Imagine someone took a photo of the sky when you were born, and then they take a photo of the sky right now.

If you compare the two photos, you will see where the planets are positioned in the sky right now relative to where they were positioned when you were born. This is what a transit is.

In our example – let’s say you want to see how Jupiter’s move into Scorpio will affect you.

For this, you look where Jupiter is found outside the circle (if you want to see where Jupiter was positioned at the time of your birth, you would look inside the circle  – remember inside the circle is your natal chart, outside the circle, is the transit)

Planet Jupiter is highlighted in red – can you see it? This is the Jupiter transit.

6 How to read transits Astro Butterfly

You now want to see how the Jupiter transit is going to affect you. For this, you need to look inside the circle, and find the corresponding number (from 1 to 12). The numbers from 1 to 12 are called houses. When a planet inside the circle is in a certain house, you call it a natal placement. When a planet outside the circle is in a certain house, you call it a transit.

In Jupiter inside the circle is in your 12th house, you say “my natal Jupiter is in my 12th house”. If Jupiter outside the circle is in your 12th house, you say “Jupiter currently transits my 12th house”

The planets inside the circle never change. Your natal chart never change. But the planets outside the circle always change.

This is how you read a transit. You look at the planets outside the circle and which houses they pass. In the example below, Jupiter will transit your 12th house.

7. Let’s take another example. In the same chart, you now want to check the Moon. You want to find out which house in your natal chart is transited by the Moon.

In the example below, Moon transits the 7th house.

7 How to read transits Astro Butterfly

8. Now let’s take a different example, a little more difficult. Let’s say you read that the Solar Eclipse in Leo falls at 28° Leo, and you want to find out which part of your chart will be affected.

In the example below, 28° Leo is in the 9th house. Although you don’t see the 28°, you can see a small grid – the sign of Leo is split into 30 small lines, each one representing one zodiacal degree. Therefore, 28° Leo is where you count the 28th line inside the sign of Leo.

8 How to read transits Astro Butterfly

This is how you find out how a transit is going to affect you.

You now know that for someone born on January 1st 1970 at 5:32 AM in LA, California, Jupiter is going to transit their 12th house, so matters related to the 12th house will come into focus from October 10th, when Jupiter moves into Scorpio, until November 9th, 2018.

Astrology is a bit more complex than that, there are different ways to calculate the houses (you may be more familiar with Placidus house system for example) – but the whole signs, the system we just used, is a very good start if you are just starting with astrology.

Also, although houses are the most important things to look at when you want to interpret transits, they are not the only thing to look at. Planets also transit signs (Aries, Taurus, Gemini etc.) and make aspects to your natal planets (conjunction, trine, square, opposition etc.)

But I will write more about these in next articles.

Now is time to practice. You can play around with your chart, choose a few dates you want to check transits for, and see how the planets transit the houses of your natal chart.

Equinox 2017 – Half Way Through

On September 22nd is the Equinox day – the  Autumn Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and Spring Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere.

Equinox literally means “equal night”.

No matter where you live on earth, today the day is equal to the night. The Sun and the Moon share the sky as equals.

The nature achieves the perfect equilibrium between light and darkness, male and female, yin and yang.

With the Equinox, Libra season starts. The symbol of Libra is the scales. The scales of Justice has been, and it’s still used as a symbol of the democratic legal system. The scales are associated with judgement, balance, and the Truth.

The Equinox is about finding balance – inside and out. Now is the best time to ponder in which area of your life you need to have more balance.

Balance is a somewhat abstract concept. We always aim to achieve balance, just to get out of balance in the very next moment.

The Equinox is similar to the concept of “zero” on the number line. Zero is a balanced number which has equal amount of positives and negatives. On the other hand, infinity is the point of extreme chaos.

At the Autumn Equinox, the Sun is on the zero line, setting on the other side of the horizon. From there, the Sun has a panoramic view.

Autumn Equinox Astro Butterfly

Right in the middle, having passed half of the zodiac, and having ahead in sight the other half, the Sun is in a position to judge in an unbiased way. He can see both perspectives.

Imagine you enter a restaurant and pick the last table in the corner. You can see everyone, yet not everyone can see you.

At the Autumn Equinox, the Sun has already been though half of the zodiac. From there, the Sun can see what he left behind, but he can also look forward, toward the path in sight.

When it sets, the Sun has both perspectives. Just like the Sun, now is the time to ponder on what you have done in the first half of the year (from March 21st until now) and adjust your plans for the 2nd half of the astrological year (from September 22nd 2017 until March 21st 2018).

The goals and intentions you planted during that time of the Spring Equinox will now reach their fruition. If you’ve been trying hard and doing your best, your efforts are very likely to pay off now.

The Equinox is a significant time for relationships. Now is the best time to get clear about what you want out of life and out of your relationships, and then make the necessary adjustments.

Libra is the sign of relationships, and that’s because a relationship represents that point of balance, where both partners give and take equal amounts of value. Any relationship that is not build on fairness, balance, equality, is not a real relationship.

It is nothing wrong with going for romance, having an affair, but when we mean relationships we mean two partners coming together, cooperating, and adjusting to each other’s needs.

When one partner starts giving more than the other, the relationships usually breaks.

Right now, you know better who you are and what you want. If at the beginning of a romantic relationship we tend to give everything, to be overly generous, to hide some parts of ourselves, the Equinox is that point in our development when we get honest about who we are and what we want.

Now it’s time to get things straight – this is what you have to offer and this is what you expect in return.

That’s why Libra is the sign of negotiations. “I’ll give you this, if you give me that – so we can both win”.

If some people in your life got used to take advantage of you, now is time to take action and claim what you deserve.

On the other hand, if you have not been giving your best and tried to understand the other, the Equinox is the point where you need to bring things to balance. If you are prone to jump to conclusions, now you may want to slow down and give people more chances.

If your partner is upset that they are always cooking dinner and you never do it, now is the time for you to start cooking the dinner, and “do your part”.

It is very important to strike a balance right now and adjust to what you have learned – you don’t want to live the 2nd half of the year in remorse.

The Equinox take place at the 0° of the cardinal sign of Libra. The cardinal 0° is VERY powerful and is associated with action and new beginnings – we only have 0° Cardinal in the first day of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.

September 22nd is one of the 4 times in a year when is best to take action. If in the spring, action is about starting something new, now in the autumn, action is about setting things straight.

Half of the year is already over. Now you have the chance to ponder over what you’ve done – and reap what you’ve sown. And later in the dark winter months, you can finally take the time to reflect on what is really important for you and prepare yourself for the next Spring.

The Autumn Equinox is a time to embrace the paradox of duality. The truth has many facets and your truth might not be the other person’s truth.

The Autumn Equinox is also the best time to make objective judgements.

Right now you may feel that “you can’t hide any longer” the truth of who you are. Face what you have to face and let it go so that you can move on. Make that decision. This decision will shape the 2nd half of the year and next chapter of your life.

In the process of letting go to make space for the new, some regrets may arise. Wounds from the past that you never had the chance to heal, things you cannot forget and forgive, remorse, bad habits you don’t have the courage to break – they will all come back to you now.

We have a natural tendency to focus on what could have been, what might have been, what should have been, the truth is, we have absolutely no idea what the outcome of that would have been!

Our assumption is that would have been different in a sense that would have been better, but we simply don’t know that. And without knowing, we cannot really say that what would have happened. We don’t know!

We tend to assume that things would have been better. The truth is that things could have been worse too.

Now take a pen and a piece of paper and make a list of your regrets – big and small. Everything you wanted to achieve in the last 6 months but you didn’t.

……………………….

……………………….

……………………….

Go through them one by one, and spend only 30 seconds for each one. Once you’ve reflected on it, put a line through it and cross it from the list.

Well done!

Now you are set for the Equinox, you are set to allow the 2nd half of the year unfold, beyond regrets, wiser and a lot more prepared.

New Moon in Virgo – The Final Call

The New Moon in Virgo takes place on September 19th or September 20th, depending on where in the world you live, at 27° Virgo.

New Moons are times of new beginnings, so every year we have the chance to start something new related to the sign where the lunation occurs.

September’s New Moon is in Virgo, therefore the Virgoan themes are surfacing: service, work, hearth, analysis, day-to-day rituals, purifying the body, mind and spirit, self-development, bringing order into chaos.

23 Sun in Virgo

Virgo stands for the highest expression of the individual self, is where we seek to be of service, is where we keep our commitments, is where we seek to perfect ourselves and stick to the Path, no matter how tough the going gets.

Virgo is a transitional sign, bringing the death of the Summer and the start of the Fall, that time of the year when we contemplate the earth’s annual cycle of light and darkness.

The new Moon takes place at 27° Virgo, in the last degrees of the sign. The last degrees of Virgo are very transformative, concluding the mission of the 1st half of the zodiac, the perfecting of the self. The first part of the zodiac (from Aries to Virgo) is the journey within.

With Libra, we explore the outer side of the zodiac wheel, we learn about other people (Libra to Sagittarius) and about society as a whole (Capricorn to Pisces).

Virgo is therefore the last chance to make it right, to become the person we want to be, to achieve the highest expression of the individual self.

Virgo is traditionally associated with work, diets, sports, healthy lifestyle, details and planning – with all the things that are good for you, but not necessarily pleasant or easy.

You can of course stay at the Leo stage of development, do only what it feels right, what makes you feel alive, what is fun…but you know that this is not sustainable. You also need to do the work, to put rituals in place, to create systems in your life to assist you in your goals.

The New Moon in Virgo in the final degrees of Virgo is your last chance to become the highest expression of yourself, to turn the self into a harmonious whole  – body, mind and spirit – all in balance.

The New Moon in Virgo is about consequences. If you’ve done the inner work, then the New Moon will come to “wrap up” everything,  so you can confidently say “This is me, a human being, I’m perfect in my imperfections, strong in my weaknesses and beautiful in my own way because I’m me”.

But if you’ve tried to skip steps, or if you remained stuck in the previous stages of development, then this New Moon can be quite confusing and disturbing.

As disturbing as it may feel, the New Moon will give you a 2nd chance. You still have the opportunity  to make it right, if you are brave enough to swim through the chaos, to open your heart and surrender to the higher guidance and wisdom.

The New Moon in Virgo makes me think of the Judgment card of the Tarot because of its proximity to the equinox point. In tarot, the “Judgement” shows up at that time in your life when you review and evaluate your past experiences and draw the conclusions. All the pieces of the puzzle are finally coming together to form one, integrated picture.

And although traditionally the New Moons are times of new beginnings, while the Full Moons are times of exposures and endings, this particular New Moon is a little bit of both.

You cannot start something new unless you leave the past behind. New beginning never come “out of nowhere” – it is when you make a conscious decision to leave the past behind, when you make space for the new.

You are now being “called” and asked to take action. Something that was lying dormant in you is finally being awakened and brought into light.

The New Moon is making an exact quincunx Uranus, the planet of sudden insight and awakenings and an opposition to Chiron, the planet of the integration of the self.

The New Moon opposition to Chiron will expose your wounds, those dark corners of your soul you feel ashamed of. Of course this will make you feel vulnerable. But ignoring some parts of yourself, while putting ahead only what is desirable  doesn’t make you perfect. Being in denial about the truth of who you are doesn’t make you invincible.

We are all made of broken parts and until we learn to integrate them we cannot live a wholesome life, in full integrity. The opposition to Chiron will expose all these broken parts of yourself but will also give you the chance to integrate all the deep wounds, all those shadows you are afraid to bring to the surface.

It is when you acknowledge them, when you accept they are part of you, when they don’t have any power over you. They are still there, as a reminder of what has happened to you and what they taught you about life, but they no longer haunt you.

The New Moon in Virgo opposite Chiron on Pisces will make you confront these unfinished business and accept the truth of who you are.

The New Moon in Virgo quincunx to Uranus can bring initially some bizarre, disturbing energy. A quincunx energy can be quite distracting but if you let it flow, you can manifest its positive, creative side.

Uranus and Chiron aspecting the New Moon are the wakeup call, the  ‘awakening’ you needed to “wake up” and live your life in a different way, in order to be true to yourself and to your needs.

The ruler of the New Moon, Mercury is exactly opposite Neptune, brining confusion, fogginess and inner chaos. Communication may be misinterpreted and taken out of context.

You may hear some news, or read something, just to find that the source is not quite trustworthy, or you can have some strong intuitions but you may not know if it is really your inner guidance or simply some longings or desires that make you not think straight.

With Mercury opposite Neptune we can lose ourselves into the abstract world, into a fantasy world where we can avoid the harsh reality. Paradoxically, this does not mean we are lost. There is some truth in Neptune, there is some truth in dissolving our perceptions.

The borders to what we call “reality” are not always so strictly drawn. With Mercury opposite Neptune nothing is quite as it seems, everything is “Half-truth, half lie”.

Mercury opposite Neptune is not a bad aspect per se. As with every transpersonal planet and as with every opposition, we need to be careful though. Neptune represents the “higher order” which is difficult to comprehend with our limited mind.

If you are the scientific type of person you may find this energy quite difficult, because it will shake your beliefs and make you doubt everything you thought you knew.

Our knowledge can be limited. For example, our knowledge of other people is limited to what they reveal to us. We then try to make sense of this information by making comparisons to ourselves.

But they are distinct people, with distinct personalities – they are not us. We don’t know what they truly think and feel – in fact, what we think we know of them is based on lots of assumptions.

That’s why Mercury opposition Neptune, which is the trademark of the New Moon in Virgo, can be a good thing. It can help us understand that we don’t know everything, and that we don’t need to know everything. Sometimes we just need to let things be. The world will survive without our judgments.

The New Moon in Virgo is also a good time to re-evaluate your routines and daily rituals. Neptune wants to dissolve any outdated habit that does not help you in your current path any longer. If you don’t find the motivation to go to the gym or to keep with the diet is maybe because you need to find a higher order, a better reason to keep you going.

Pluto is also slowing down and is preparing to change direction. We had many planets retrograde in the past months, so Pluto’s change in direction is good news. Things WILL get better!

You can benefit from this New Moon in you are an artist, a writer, a photographer, a musician. Neptune, Mercury and Uranus will make you more sensitive to your inner emotions as well as to outside inspiration.

The New Moon in Virgo is also a good time to start a detox diet, a herbal diet or homeopathy. Any type of activity that will declutter, remove stagnation, cleanse your body and your soul is favored now. Offering your service to the world, even when you don’t receive praise, will set your soul on the right path.

If you have Gemini or Virgo risings, or if you have natal planets or angles around 27° in Mutable signs – Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces – you will feel the energy of the New Moon in Virgo stronger.

Countdown! Jupiter moves into Scorpio on October 11th 2017

Jupiter switches signs! On October 11th Jupiter leaves Libra and moves into Scorpio, taking transformation to the next level.

Jupiter will be staying in Scorpio until November 9th 2018.

Every year, Jupiter, the great benefactor, changes from one sign to the next, bringing 1 year of abundance in the sign transited by Jupiter.

You can expect 13 months of abundance in everything Scorpio stands for: money, psychology, intimacy and sex, other people’s resources, loans, investments, occultism, energy healing.

Scorpio rules everything that is hidden, everything that is taboo – all the secrets, all you hidden talents, gemstones,  transformation, the underworld, excavations, oil, cemeteries – Scorpio loves to dig deep, until there is nothing left.

Jupiter in Scorpio

Scorpio can bring crises because it really forces you to go to the bottom of things.

You just dig and dig and dig until there is nothing else to dig – no limiting beliefs, no repressed emotions, no preconceived assumptions – so you get to the core, to the real you.

Jupiter in Scorpio is the ultimate alchemist, transforming the deepest parts of our being and bringing them to the next level of consciousness.

When Jupiter, the planet of growth and expansion, enters the mysterious sign of Scorpio it will put the magnifying glass on everything Scorpio stands for.

Think of a person you know which personifies the Scorpio archetype. What is their energy like? Now imagine that energy multiplied 100 times. This is Jupiter in Scorpio.

Jupiter’s entrance into the intense sign of Scorpio on 11th of October 2017 marks the beginning of the soul excavation process.

The mysterious cycles of life and death, the tapped and untapped resources hiding in the shadows of our soul, the multi-layered universe we abide in, the never ending, ever flowing life energy – all lie under the realm of Jupiter in Scorpio.

During the transit of Jupiter is Scorpio we will get to the core of the concept of abundance, of infinite energy.

There are two ways to make sense of the world: through Saturn and through Jupiter.

Saturn shows us the limits. If you have a piece of chocolate and you eat it, the chocolate is gone. Chocolate is a material thing, and material things are ruled by Saturn.

Energy instead is infinite. The infinite energy is what Jupiter stands for. Energy cannot be destroyed, its nature is infinite. Just like Universe keeps expanding, so does energy.

Energy is not material. You enthusiasm, your values, your beliefs, your faith, are not material and therefore cannot be destroyed, cannot die.

If we understand the concept of energy, we understand the concept of abundance. Abundance is a state of mind. Abundance is everywhere, we just need to see it for what it is.

Jupiter is the planet of abundance – wherever Jupiter goes, will be amplified. But Jupiter also exaggerates.

Jupiter exaggerates the sign it transits, and so it will with the qualities of Scorpio.

In Scorpio, Jupiter will exaggerate Scorpio’s quest for the truth and will turn it into an obsession. With Jupiter in Scorpio, we will want to be right for the sake of being right, and invest time, money and energy in things that might not be worthy of our energy.

But in the process of finding the truth, of searching every corner, of digging every hole, you have the great opportunity to get to those untapped riches that have been hiding in the shadows.

During this transit you can discover a special talent you were not aware of.

Jupiter in Scorpio brings into your awareness all those parts of your life that have been hiding in the darkness, and will ask you to confront them and bring them to the surface.

Now is the time to confront your shadow. Jupiter in Scorpio will show you that it is exactly in your shadow, where you can find your greatest light.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” – Marianne Williamson

Full Moon in Pisces – Welcome to La La Land!

We have a Full Moon in Pisces on 6th of September. The Full Moon in Pisces has a mystique about it that resembles the enchanting glamour of the big-screen.

The Full Moon in Pisces is a reflection of our temptation to live in a fantasy world, of our temptation to choose the big-screen movie ‘fake’ reality, in order to distract ourselves from the real one.

leo-1

It might be tempting to choose fantasy to reality to protect ourselves, to hide from anything that is harsh, ugly and mean. But the harsh, the ugly, and the mean are part of life. The Full Moon is by definition a time of revelation, it is a time when the truth cannot be hidden any longer.

The Full Moon in Pisces can blur your perceptions and can be dangerous after such an intense Solar Eclipse like the one we had 2 weeks ago. Be extra careful about any message that comes to you at the Full Moon – and tune into your intuition because this is where you will find the right answers right now.

The Full Moon takes place at 13° Pisces and makes three aspects: a close conjunction to Neptune at 12° Pisces, a square to Saturn in Sagittarius and a sextile to Pluto in Capricorn.

The Full Moon in Pisces has a very strong Neptunian flavor, especially because Neptune is the ruler of this Full Moon. When the ruler of the Full Moon is conjunct the Moon, we have a very strong manifestation of the planet and of the sign of the Full Moon.

Because the Full Moon is very Neptunian / Piscean, things can appear other than they are right now. Neptune is the planet of fantasies, dreaming, imagination, mysteries, longings, yearnings, illusions and delusions, abstract thought, confusions – Neptune is in charge of creating smoke and mirrors to your reality.

Neptune is also connected with synchronicities, connection with to a higher power, soulmates, so the Full Moon can also bring you mystic revelations and experiences, surrender to the divine and deep soul connections.

On a negative side the Full Moon in Pisces can bring a desire to completely escape reality. But with any illusions we make up to distort our perception of reality, we avoid the confrontation with what we need to face, sooner or later.

Apart from the conjunction to Neptune, the Full Moon makes two other aspects and gives you two choices: a stressful aspect (a T-square) to Saturn, giving you the option to channel the energy to destroy old structures, and a positive aspect (a sextile) to Pluto, offering you the opportunity to use your personal power to consolidate your position.

What will the Full Moon square Saturn bring?

The square to Saturn can make your greatest fears come to the surface right now – the Full Moon will expose them and show you all the lies you’ve been telling yourself.

If you’ve been telling yourself that everything is fine, that there is no reason to worry, that things are not that bad in your life, now is a time to accept those harsh facts about your reality.

Not everything is magic in life. If you’ve chosen to put the rose colored glasses on and see only what you like to see, this can be a highly disappointing time for you, because Saturn will force you to face the reality.

Maybe your life is not that great, maybe your job doesn’t bring the best out of you, maybe your relationship is not really satisfying, maybe you don’t tap into your full potential.

What about the sextile to Pluto?

Beyond illusion, beyond destruction, there is fate. Pluto is the planet of fate. If we accept that things come and go, that everything is a cycle, that we can lose everything in the blink of an eye – in that moment of surrender, something magical happens. The Phoenix rises from the dark night of the soul, from its own ashes, to be reborn, stronger and purified.

With Pluto, you have the option to tap into your personal power – your true, authentic power. A power that has nothing to do with status, with illusions, with a projected fantasy – a power that comes from confronting the darkest corners of yourself, a power that comes from resilience, compassion and personal mastery.

The sabian symbol of the Full Moon in Pisces is “A lady wrapped in fox fur” signifying the artificial attempts we use to hide our feelings of inadequacy, and also the danger of getting confused about who we are and “losing track” of our feelings. The Fox is a symbol of cunning intelligence and describes our ability to camouflage ourselves and our real interests in order to get what we want.

In Native American tradition the September Full Moon was called the Corn Moon, in reference to the harvest. The harvesting of the crop was also a metaphor for harvesting one’s spirit, making it a good time to shed the old and bring in the new.

The Full Moon will especially affect you if you have Pisces ascendant or if you have planets or angles around 13° in Mutable signs – Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces.

Sun Opposite Neptune – Dissolve Your Ego And Let The Real You Emerge

Sun is opposite Neptune on 4th of September. Sun is in Virgo and Neptune is in its domicile in Pisces.

The opposition takes place in the Virgo / Pisces axis, the most compassionate and service oriented axis of the zodiac, inviting you to challenge your ego and learn to become more humble and giving.

Because Sun represents our identity, and Neptune dissolves any planet it touches, the transit is a good time to leave behind the old definition of who you are and meet  the timeless, infinite, unchanging Self that you really are.

Sun Neptune opposition

Neptune is an outer planet, which means it cannot be seen with the naked eye. In fact, Neptune is the first planet to be discovered by using mathematics only. Neptune has therefore a very abstract quality.  With the discovery of Neptune, mathematics and theory, rather than observation became the rule in astronomical research.

The Sun is You, is the role you play in life. We identify so much with the Sun, that we reduce all the sky to the Sun. If someone asks you “What’s you sign” you answer with your Sun sing, not with your Moon sign or with your Mercury sign.

What does it mean when an outer planet makes a challenging aspect to the Sun? An outer planet applying an opposition to the Sun signifies a crisis that happens outside the consciousness. The crisis happens outside our consciousness, because as we’ve pointed, an outer planet is a planet we cannot see, we cannot perceive, at least not with our limited material senses.

That’s why Neptune transits are famous for the confusion they bring. When something happens outside if yourself, it something you cannot see, you cannot measure, you cannot make sense of. In these circumstances it is absolutely normal to feel confused, to feel lost. You don’t know what’s going on.

Sun opposite Neptune can also shake your self-esteem and self-confidence. You can feel powerless yourself, or something from the outside can come seemingly out of nowhere and take away your power.

Another way you can experience Sun opposite Neptune is through a loss in motivation. Neptune can fog your vision and blur your focus – you can suddenly loose interest in something that was very important to you before, for example your career, or a big project you were involved in.

Neptune is the opposite of Saturn, if Saturn builds, Neptune demolishes. Neptune opposite Sun will dissolve or demolish the foundations you built your life on. Your mission, your goals, your ambitions can make no sense to you anymore. All the order in your life transforms into chaos.

But it is in the chaos that a new order emerges. The old foundations of your ego are demolished so you can find who you really are.

Neptune opposite Sun disintegrates your old self, so your new, higher self can emerge.  Neptune dissolves the identification with your ego, so you can move to a higher expression of yourself.

Sun is not only who you are, is also who you think you are. We tend to identify with our origins, with our community, with our workplace, with our career.

Sun opposite Neptune will challenge all these projections and layers of identification and will push you on a different direction, on an unknown direction, on a path you’ve never been before, on a path that scares you.

But the path that scares you the most is usually the one that liberates you the most. Neptune is also the planet of liberation from the material world, representing the higher, immaterial, spiritual level of our existence. It is that part of you that is immortal, that part of you that is pure, unconditional love.

Sun opposite Neptune can also bring you deep longings, desires, restless nights, regrets; you will aspire to something higher, something divine, something out of this world, something magical.

Sun opposite Neptune can also bring disappointments with authority figures, with people that hold some sort of power. During this transit some people can let you down. If someone promised you something they might not stick to their promise when Sun is opposite Neptune.

But before you get disappointed and decide to remove these people from your life, think how you may have contributed to this situation.

Even if you did everything right, maybe you idealized too much that person, or that desired outcome. Maybe you projected some supernatural power on that person, maybe you expected some sort of magic, maybe there was a bit of an illusion from your side as well.

Deep inside we always know who to trust and who not to trust. Can you consider that maybe you knew that project will collapse, you knew that person will let you down, but you decided to believe it anyway? Maybe there was something unrealistic about your goals in the first place.

Or maybe it’s YOU who needs to become that authority person you admire. Maybe you haven’t really put yourself “out there” in the past and you have projected your own power onto others, hence the disappointment.

Neptune makes us see what we want to see. Did you put your rose colored glasses on? That’s fine, but the reality is not always pink. With Neptune we need to keep in mind that the scenery might change when we take our glasses off.

But there is a big WHY behind all this confusion and chaos – the purpose of the Sun opposite Neptune transit is to help you let go of the old identification of the ego, of all the goals and desires that are outdated, that no longer serve your best purpose.

However confusing this time is, right now you are actually searching for who you truly are.

Do you feel lost? Stay with that feeling, don’t try to fight it, resist the temptation to label it as “wrong” or inappropriate. It is ok to feel lost. Is in that place of apparent confusion where you can find the real you, where you can find your true goals.

Remember that Neptune represents the “higher power”, God, the cosmic womb, the ocean of existence where we all emerged from.

We are not higher than Neptune, we cannot control Neptune, we are just a drop of water in the ocean.  The best thing you can do is to simply go with the river, go with the flow.

Don’t try to resist change, don’t fight your circumstances. This is not a time to fight, or to show others you’re right and they’re wrong. This is a time to show compassion and understanding and let life be.

On a positive note, Sun opposite Neptune can make you more compassionate, more gentle, more responsive to suffering. You can now tune in with others more easily, you can connect better with other people, you can see behind their projected ego, you can see deeper, you can connect with their soul.

What to do to make the best of the transit

  • Do something nice for others – show them that you care, send them a nice message of support
  • Be there for people in need – you can volunteer for a cause or do a small donation, for example to the victims of the Hurricane Harvey or the victims of the South Asia floods. Neptune also rules water and floods.
  • Stay away from negative vibrations and surround yourself with positive vibrations – travel to a secluded place, visit a spiritual site, listen to enchanting music, meet gentle and compassionate people
  • Try hypnotherapy, dream therapy or mantra chanting
  • If someone lets you down, try to forgive them. Look for the silver lining – what could be the purpose behind this betrayal?
  • Design your ideal you and your ideal lifestyle – with Sun opposite Neptune it’s ok to do dream big and aspire to the best version of yourself

We are all going to feel the Sun opposition Neptune transit but if you have planets or angles around 12° in mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) you will feel it more intensely.
