Many people know that the Lunar Nodes have “something to do” with the eclipses. Indeed, eclipses happen only near the Lunar Nodes, when the Moon moves directly and precisely in front of the Sun. The Nodes blend the subtle energies of the Moon and the Sun, of the feminine and the masculine, of the Yin and the Yang that make life as we know it.
That’s why the Nodes are always somehow linked to our destiny. Transits to the North Node tend to show in the most important moments of our life: when we move from one phase of our life to the next, at the birth of a child, when a family member passes away, when we meet a soul mate. The Nodes represent our “spiritual compass”, the “essence” of our purpose in life.
The Nodes come in pairs of opposite zodiacal signs – the North Node represents the unfolding destiny, and the South Node, the karmic past. The North Node is literally our “North Star” and represents fresh new learning and the qualities we need to embrace to move forward.
The South Node instead is about the repetitive patterns and old lessons. The past (South Node) is the foundation of the future (North Node), the “old” on which we build “the new”.
Our heart’s longing
Leo is ruled by the Sun, the life-giving, generous and radiant star that gives us light, warmth and energy. The Sun is the “engine” of our solar system, without it we wouldn’t exist. Leo rules our heart.
The heart is the “Sun” of your body, the little engine in your chest that pumps life. The beating heart is the promise of life.
Your heart is the core of who you are, your center of gravity, the place where you feel fully alive.
When we live from our center, everything is the way it should be. As children (Leo also rules children) we knew how to get in touch with the innocence of our existence. But as we grow up we learn to follow rules, listen to our parents and ‘fit in’.
But we never really forget that place of joy, radiance and innocence. The deepest longing in life is the longing to be one with the center, to get connected with that place of love and truth.
This evolutionary calling is usually experienced when the North Node touches a point in our chart. When you have a North Node transit, the Universe is asking you to get out of the cage – even if it is challenging and painful.
This longing is the homesickness of the heart, the yearning to return back to your divine nature.
This spiritual crisis comes in different ways. Sometimes, it comes with a clear and strong yearning and desire to express more and to be more – to give your uniquely creative gifts to something bigger than yourself.
Other times, it comes with hopelessness and frustration because you’re unsure about who you are and how you fit into the world.
And other times – and this one is the most daunting – it comes with a vague dissatisfaction. You may tell yourself “I have everything, I have a great job, I have money, I have a relationship, but still, there is something missing from my life”.
During the transit of the North Node in Leo, you will be thought how to embrace the longing of your heart and how to activate your evolutionary purpose from that place of truth.
You are now given the chance to identify the part you are meant to play (North Node in Leo) in the larger context of reality (South Node in Aquarius) so that your gifts and talents can be actualized to their fullest potential.

The only way to come “home” is to (re)discover the true nature of yourself. For this, you need to detach yourself from the global (TV, imposed cultural models, internet, social media) and focus on our own creative genius.
Your unique talents, your individual aspirations, your dreams ARE important. The North Node in Leo is an invitation to straighten your crown and stop worrying about what other people think.
Follow your heart’s longing with courage even if this goes against the approval of your friends, community or society.
The South Node in Aquarius is the release point. In the process of embracing your heart’s longing, you may find you need to let go of some friendships. Remember, real friends want the best for you. Resist the temptation to go back to the old ways if some “friends” find your new ways unacceptable. Let them go if they threaten to leave. See who stays. These are your real friends.
Of course, I am not encouraging you to be selfish, but is nothing selfish in allowing the real you to emerge. Be the sculptor of your life and allow the everlasting Universe express itself through you in your unique way.

The world needs you, and it is your duty to let yourself shine. This is ultimately the message of the North Node in Leo.
What does it mean for you
We will be all affected by the Nodal sift. Last time we had the Nodes in Leo/Aquarius was from September 1998 to April 2000. Go back to 1999, 1980, 1962, years when we had the Nodes in Leo/Aquarius to get a feeling about what to expect in the next 1 year and a half.
Also, if you have your Nodes on the Leo/Aquarius axis, you will be especially in focus because you will experience your Nodal Return. The nodes return to the same zodiacal signs once every 18,5 years. Therefore, if you are 19 years of age, 37, 56, 75 and so on you will experience a “karmic reset”. The universe will bring you “back on track” in case you’ve lost your compass.
Look in which houses you have Leo and Aquarius in your chart for more details. For example, if you have the North Node in Leo in the 1st house and the South Node in Aquarius in the 7th house, you need to let the others hear you roar, and no longer depend on group approval.
If you have the North Node in Leo in the 2nd house and the South Node in Aquarius in the 8th house, during this transit you need to start treating yourself like a queen or king, become more generous with money, and pay more attention to your own value system as opposed to other people’s value systems. And so on…
Also, if you have personal planets in Leo/Aquarius the Nodes will bring into awareness that area of your life symbolized by the respective planet or angle.

I am reading this is 2021. Does this mean there is still a shift? I’m not sure if I’ve missed it and not sure what houses my signs are in. How can I learn more?
I think my karmic reset happened at around being 37- I’m 40 now and recently have experienced a great turning for positive in my relationships.
My N. Node is in Leo 7H, along with my Venus and Pluto. My 1st H has my Moon and Rising; my Moon being in a harmonious aspect with my N. Node 🙂 but it’s definitely been a long, lonely, lost road getting here.
I am thrilled to read about this now. My north node is Leo in the 6th house in my birth chart and in Scorpio in the 10th house now and I am launching my career coaching business so that ties in perfectly. I can’t believe the timing because it wasn’t planned that way at all..? Destiny I believe 🙂

I have a question, I am wondering how/where in my chart I will be affected by this nodal shift.
I have my north node in Aquarius in the 4th house. But my fifth house is ruled by aqaurius, 11th by Leo. Are both my 4th house/10th house and 5th house/11th hous axis’ being affected? Also, it is my inverse return, so how could all of this be interpreted?

I must respond to this. My story is quite phenomenal and is completely in line with what you write here. I have been questioning so much and when i read your blog it suddenly all makes sense.
I have my north node in Leo. When i was 20, i met a man that i fell head over heels in love with. I’ll call him H. It was the most special, blissful experience of my life. While i was with him, my friends couldn’t understand what i saw in him. They told me he had nothing, was a below average person and was probably just using me for sex. He never really expressed his love for me verbally, but i saw it all in his eyes and it was the small things he did which made me feel so loved. 3 months later he ended things with me, without giving me any concrete reasons. They were all right, i thought, i was just a past-time for him.
Enter my now husband, i’ll call him M, who entered my life right at the point where things ended between H and I. I made it clear to him that i still had deep feelings for H and wasn’t ready for anything else, and he advised i get over H as he was seeing many women at the time he was seeing me and couldn’t be trusted. M and H were friends you see, and i trusted that M knew what H was up to all along. My love turned into anger, i closed the door to my heart and vowed i’d never believe in love again.
To cut a long story short, I married M and things were ok. Everyone loved him and thought we were perfect for each other. I must have made the right decision, i thought. We had 2 children together and as time went on , i got progressively more and more miserable. I didn’t know why i was so depressed. Everyone said i was just being a drama queen. I had everything. A big house, wonderful kids, the perfect family, everything money could buy. M is a charasmatic, popular and ultra-successful man they say. How could i NOT be happy ???
Yes i had everything, but there was something big missing. M shows me love in big ways, through words, material things and gentlemanly behaviour but not through small things like simple care, concern and intuitively knowing when i’m upset or unhappy about something. It’s made me question what love really means to me ( and right on target , i also have transit saturn over my venus ) When i worked through the feelings of anger i had lodged in my heart almost 18 years ago, i eventually found forgiveness with H. That in turn allowed me to feel love for him again. And with that came all the truth of the drama that happened 18 years ago. It turns out H called things off with me because he felt he couldn’t give me everything i so deserved. He had nothing and came from nothing, how was he going to make me happy? He had also at the time come out of a relationship where the girl had left him for someone with money . He was afraid i would do the same and to spare the hurt he called things off before they got too serious.
H and I are both married now, we see each other from time to time through mutual relationships and the chemistry and love is still there. We have never acted on it, but my soul is crying to show itself now. I cannot live in this darkness anymore. I wish so badly that i had listened to myself and not my friends 18 years ago.
Transit North Node is 3 degrees away from my natal Leo north node. I realise what was missing all this time. My heart.
Quite a story there, hope things work out well for you… of course I’m talking out of my whoha but if we are to use the advice we have been given about a Leo north node then I guess we should be more concerned with are we in line with that mission. Will it bring you joy and happiness for the long run…. Will there somehow be karmic debt since he is in a relationship … it almost sounds like it would be all worth it if it’s your person but maybe it’s better to use the pain to ignite the fire within your creativity and gravitate towards being the independent driven courageous lion(ess) your meant to be, instead of going on an odyssey through the Bermuda triangle to find the tin man’s heart. IMO it may be a moment you cherished that is associated with memories of your happiest moments yet it doesn’t do a great job explaining the divergence…however, the connection memories and the nostalgia may have been great contributors to the divergence with M. When manifesting anything new there is always key rules of letting go of the past and healing. attachment will obstruct the potential and or activation of your goal. It’s probably not something that you wanted to hear but I honestly hope whatever great things that are supposed to happen transpire for you if they haven’t already.
