Astrology of March 2017– Happy New Astrological Year!

March is undoubtedly one of the most important and the most eventful  months of the year. Intense, almost electrifying, fresh and exciting, March will bring something new in our life no matter our astrological signature.  We have the Spring /Autumn equinox which brings the beginning of a new solar cycle, we have the 1st New Moon after the Equinox which will kick start the New Astrological year, we have Sun conjunct Venus bringing a new Venus synodic cycle, we have Venus retrograde, we have the 2nd Jupiter Uranus opposition and we have the 2nd Jupiter Pluto square…just to mention the major aspects.

march

Let’s have a look at what the stars have in store for us this month:

March start with a lovely Sun Neptune conjunction on 1st of March.  Our imagination will be heightened during this transit, so use this time to explore your talents and creativity and find your own sense of peace.

On March 2nd we have the 2nd Jupiter Uranus opposition. This opposition is extremely intense –  we will likely feel like it is “Now or never” and we’ve been given the last chance to break free of limitations. Although we may feel we cannot wait any longer, keep in mind that this is only the 2nd opposition between Jupiter and Uranus. We will have the “final act” of this transit later this year.

4th of March is one of the big dates of the year. Venus stations retrograde at 13° Aries, signaling a re-evaluation of our attitudes towards love, money, and personal values. Soon after Venus turns retrograde, Mercury conjuncts Neptune adding to the general confusion. Do not fear the Venus retrograde cycle – Venus will only bring to our awareness those things that needs to be reexamined. If we’ve been avoiding to make some decisions, it is likely that we will make them during the Venus retrograde.  But these decisions, especially those made before 25th of March will only help us prepare for the good things that WILL come after.

On the 6th of March Sun is conjunct Mercury at 16° Pisces.  Our communication will become empathetic and compassionate, and we will feel an impulse to express the more creative side of our psyche.

On March 9th Mars enters Taurus. Mars in Taurus will be in mutual reception with Venus in Aries. The two lovers are now in complicity, learning  from the other’s actions and bringing the best in each other.

The Full Moon in Virgo takes place on 12th of March at 22°. The Full Moon is opposite Chiron and Mercury and square Saturn. This is one of the rather challenging  Full Moons and will require a close examination of who we really are. We are being asked again to be disciplined and take responsibility for our lives. Nobody can help us but us.

On 13th of March Mercury enters Aries bringing a boost of enthusiasm and fresh ideas.  Communication becomes less foggy and more direct.

On March 14th Sun conjuncts Chiron and 3 days later on March 17th Sun squares Saturn. We can heal our wounds if we take responsibility for them and do the necessary work on ourselves.

On the 18th of March Mercury is conjunct Venus at 9° Aries. The conjunction also trines the Moon in Sagittarius. This is one of the sweetest days when our communication can become extremely affectionate and persuasive – mark your calendars if you have a presentation to give or if you want to confess your feelings to your crush 😉 – those of us with planets between 4°- 9° in Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) are especially favored.

Happy new solar year! On the 19th of March Sun’s ingress into Aries will mark the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and Autumn Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere. Confidence and energy will rise as we will feel more optimistic about life and about the future.

Between 23rd and 24th of March Mercury in Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn and then opposes Jupiter in Libra. These are highly dynamic aspects– conversations can easily get heated but also new ideas can emerge out of this cosmic chaos.

On the 25th of March Sun is meeting Venus retrograde in a so called “inferior conjunction” which basically means Venus is in between the Sun and the Earth. This conjunction, which happens in the middle of her retrograde journey, will officially start a new Venus synodic cycle. I really love this aspect and I believe it is one of the most important aspects of the year. Not only Venus starts a new cycle, but the conjunction takes place immediately after the Equinox and just before the first New Moon of the astrological year. We have a new cycle of the Sun, a new cycle of Venus, AND a New Moon.

2017 will be the YEAR OF LOVE, undoubtedly. Those of us with planets or angles around 4° in Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) will especially be blessed with love this year. For all of us this new solar cycle will bring something new in what Venus stands for: romance, relationships, beauty, money and possessions, values. Anything is possible now: a new love, a new source of income – a door will open and Venus will bring her gifts. People with Taurus or Libra rising will also benefit from this aspect.

On the 26th of March Mercury is conjunct Uranus at 23° Aries bringing some exciting (and unexpected!) news.

27th of March marks the start of a new astrological cycle with the New Moon at 7° in Aries. The New Moon is conjunct Venus, and the ruler of the New Moon, Mars, makes positive aspects to Neptune and Pluto. This is an extremely dynamic and New Moon – Jupiter is only few minutes away from a perfect square to Pluto. We have Venus, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto all activated (of course together with the Sun and the Moon) – expect DYNAMITE.

On the 30th of March we have the mighty Jupiter Pluto square. We are now in the middle of the storm – the 2nd aspect in a series of three is the most intense because both planets are retrograde and their focus is crystal clear. This is an  “all or nothing” transit –major decisions will be made now. Jupiter and Pluto are in a way the most powerful planets – Jupiter “the king of all gods the sky” and Pluto “the king of the underworld” are in the midst of their epic battle that will only end at the end of the year when the two will meet for the last time for the final confrontation. It shall be seen who wins and who loses.

The month ends with Mercury’s ingress in the sign of the Bull on the 31st of March. Our ideas will become less erratic and our communication will become more concrete.

Sun conjunct South Node in Pisces – Time to Say Goodbye

On 21st of February Sun will conjunct for the last time the South Node of the Moon in Pisces. Next time we have a Sun / South Node conjunction in Pisces is in 2035.

Sun’s transit over the South Node will expose us to our default patterns of “Piscean” behaviors and themes: spirituality, imagination, compassion, sacrifice.

Love is the greatest example of what Piscean energy stands for: something that cannot be constrained to form or expression,  fluid and spaceless. Always connected, always in communion.

The South Node in Pisces wants to immerse in spiritual oneness, and is doing that by “escaping”  from the practical world through spirituality and art (when the South Node is maturely expressed) or through addiction or withdrawal from involvement with others.

Sun conjunct South Node in Pisces is about living in a far-away past, before our soul chose to materialize into this body, is about living in a fairytale where we can shape-shift into anything we want and travel in and out different dimensions. But deep inside we know this place is not real. Regret and nostalgia often accompany South Node’s transit. We crave for the Paradise Lost, for that space of complete comfort and bliss, for that mystical consciousness, for our mother’s womb.

20-sun-conjunct-nn_james-r-eads
James R. Eads

The South Node shows our skills, our mastery, what we have “inherited” from our previous lives, but also shows our default patterns, everything we do because it just comes natural to us, because we don’t know another way of doing it.

And this “default mode” comes with a difficult question. Why do we cling to things? We cling to what we love, we cling to what we know, we cling to our habits, good or bad, we even cling to what makes us suffer, over and over again. We settle in life, making justifications and  excuses as to why. In being confined to this way of living, are we aware that we are prisoners of the past?

Transits to the South Node expose and bring to our awareness what we need to “cut off”, what we need to release from our psyche, or bring to the next level. Which part of your Psyche is “exposed” by the South Node transit to the Sun? Can you outgrow the “old you”?

You need to make a decision, now or never: do you want to accept that part of you and carry it forward? Or you want to drop it and let it go away? Whatever you chose, take responsibility for your choice.

Every transit to the South Node activates as well the North Node, our Soul’s Purpose, which now is in Virgo. Sun’s opposition to the North Node is an invitation to “escape” that comfortable Piscean numbness, and embrace the practical Virgo energy instead. Escapism, day dreaming, living in the past, taking drugs,  drinking alcohol…all these can help us deal with life when times get tough, however it is through active involvement with others, through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, the only we to deal with the world in a healthy way.

It is not enough to “feel sorry” for ourselves and for others, we need to be able to be there, we need to participate, give service, contribute, take responsibility  – because this is what will ultimately make a difference. Living up to the North Node requires a real break with South Node Piscean romanticism.

I am not in any suggesting that is something wrong with the Piscean energy. We have a lot to learn from Pisces, the oldest soul of the zodiac.

But not now – in 8 years time when the North Node will transit Pisces, we will be prepared to integrate Pisces’ higher spiritual lessons. Right now, we need to deal with Piscean “karmic debrief”.

We need to learn how to get real.

New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Pisces – The Final Chapter

On the 25th – 26th of February we have an extremely powerful New Moon and Solar Eclipse at 8° in Pisces.

This Solar Eclipse and New Moon is extremely potent – Why that?

First and foremost, Eclipses are powerful because they conjunct one of the Nodes of the Fate. This Solar Eclipse in Pisces is closely conjunct the South Node of the Moon, the point of Karma – everything  we should, but cannot – leave behind.

Then, the ruler of this New Moon, Neptune, is actually conjunct the New Moon/Solar Eclipse! This is extremely extremely important – it is like having an Eclipse in Scorpio conjunct Pluto, or an Eclipse in Aquarius conjunct Uranus. When an Eclipse conjuncts its own ruler, everything “screams” the energy of that particular sign, in our case, Pisces.  We basically have Sun, Moon, South Node and Neptune, all conjunct for the “final act” in a series of  Virgo-Pisces eclipses that began in March 2015 and culminates now.

Apart from the quadruple conjunction (Sun, Moon, South Node and Pisces) we also have Mercury and Chiron in Pisces. With six planets in Pisces, we will all drown into the Piscean energy to the fullest. The South Node is at the midpoint of the New Moon and Mercury – some conversations, or some news, will bring important new insights from “depths of the ocean” – of our subconscious, of the soul of the universe.

solar-eclipse-pisces

Probably the most intense aspect in the Pisces New Moon chart is Mars conjoining Uranus in Aries in opposition with Jupiter in Libra. This exploding aspect is not directly connected to the Solar Eclipse itself, but we will nevertheless feel it very strongly.

If the Solar Eclipse in Pisces is the deep ocean where we can drown but also gain profound insights about who we are, Mars conjunct Uranus and opposite Jupiter is lightning starting fire. It shall be seen how water and fire will “play together” –  strong emotions, almost hysterical, can be expressed and released during this eclipse.  Those of us with a lot of water in their chart will feel like a psychic sponge.

People with planets or angles at (especially Sun, Moon, Ascendant, MC, Mercury, Venus, Mars) in Pisces, but also in the other mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius) will feel the Neptunian –South Node vibe, and the immediacy of the New Moon. Repressed feelings will come up to the surface, to be acknowledged and healed.

People with planets and angles around 22° in Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) will feel a strong drive to ACT and start something new in the area of their life (houses) where they have the transits.

If you have planets both around 8° in Mutable signs and around 22° in Cardinal signs this Lunar Eclipse will be extremely transformational for you.

The message of this New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Pisces is:  Only by letting go of old ways we can create the much needed space for new things in our lives. We are now urged to finally drop what is not working anymore. Let it go. Insights and messages on what exactly we need to let go off may come to us through dreams and intuition – pay attention to whatever thought, feeling, sign comes to you.

The final eclipse on the Virgo-Pisces axis is about making peace with our past, taking responsibility for our life, getting real and living with common sense.

Dive into the unknown, Pisces will empower you with emotional intelligence and the wisdom you need to embrace the new territory.

Remember, Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, containing a little bit of each of the signs that precede him. He has seen it all, done it all. Be brave  as you embark upon the new phase of your life that is about to start.

The most important thing that Pisces and Neptune can teach us is to accept that we are enough, and we can’t really do anything for others – the only thing that is really in our power, is to take care of ourselves. Love yourself , become the very best version of yourself – and in this way you will empower others to love themselves too.

Sun in Pisces – Contemplation, Responsibility, Acceptance

Sun enters Pisces on the 18th of February.

Pisces is the last sign of the Zodiac. Eleven months after the Spirit (Aries) has grown to become a perfect individual (Sun’s journey from Taurus to Virgo) and thereafter, this perfect individual has learned to give back to the world his or her unique gifts (Sun’s journey from Libra to Aquarius), in Pisces it’s time to integrate everything and become “whole again”.

After  this perfection is achieved, the Spirit will return to the womb of the universe and start afresh, when on the 19th of March we have the Spring equinox and a new Astrological Year will start (a new Astrological cycle starts at the Spring Equinox which is the same time when the Sun moves into Aries).

“Perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away” – Exupery

pisces-neptune

Pisces season is a time to reap what we sow, to take responsibility for what has happened in our life and simply accept the reality of now.

If you lived with curiosity and intention you can find yourself content with how far you’ve come, no matter how difficult this 12-month cycle has been for you. Remember – It’s not what happens to us, but how we react to what happens to us!

“If your consciousness is clean, pure, innocent, the moment is not far away when you will explode into a luminous splendor. That’s what is known as enlightenment, or awakening, or self-realization” – Osho

Sun’s transit into Pisces is the “culmination” of the human spirit’s mission in this yearly astrological cycle. This is the time to “complete” whatever we have started at the time of the Spring Equinox last year.

February and March (the time before the Spring equinox) have always been a good time to de-clutter the house, the body, the mind and the soul.

Take your time to meditate, contemplate and ponder things, and prioritize them for the next cycle. Slow down and reflect what this astrological cycle has meant for you, and what you are moving towards or inviting in the next Sun cycle.

The following 4 weeks also make a great time to go for a detox, a purification ritual or try music or art therapy. This is not a time for serious physical or psychological work – be gentle with yourself.

If possible, try to take some days off work and go to a place in nature, preferably by the sea, or by a lake, far away from the business of the city. The best days to go for a mini-retreat are 16 to 18th of March (it is a weekend), just before the Spring Equinox on the 19th of March.

And while the thought of what is about to come into being is unknown, rest assured that a fresh start is just around the corner.

Lilith Enters Sagittarius – Time To Break Free

Lilith enters Sagittarius on 14th of February, on Valentine’s day, making a great Valentines gift for both women, who will feel empowered by this energetical shift, and for men who will be at the receiving end of the wild and free unleashed feminine spirit.

No matter your sexual orientation, Lilith is all about breaking free from whatever chains are holding you back.

Lilith, also known in astrology as Black Moon Lilith, was Adam’s first wife before Eve. The legend says that when she refused to be submissive during sex,  she was cast out of Eden for upsetting the power dynamic.

12-lilith-sagittarius

In Astrology, Lilith rules the unleashed woman power, seduction, sexuality, orgasms, women’s rights, menstruation and feminine fluids, abortion and which craft (to an extent).

On a psychological level, Black Moon Lilith shows the hidden side of one’s personality. Lilith stands for our temptations, for what is “forbidden”.

Lilith in Sagittarius is fiercely independent, unconventional and idealist. The need for independence can go as far as a complete refusal of intimacy and of any sort of relationship bond. Lilith is Sagittarius NEEDS to be independent and to be allowed to exercise her feminine power.

Because Sagittarius rules religion and prophets, Lilith in Sagittarius is a symbol for the Feminine Goddess.  Not the Feminine Goddess that is seductive and mysterious (like Lilith in Libra and Lilith in Scorpio are) but the Goddess who knows she is a Goddess and that she does not have to ask for it. Lilith in Sagittarius is a leader and a searcher for truth as the greatest ideal.

The transit of Lilith in Sagittarius can play out in different ways.

  • Women’s movement will become even stronger, playing along with the Uranus Eris conjunction. Towards the end of her stay in Sagittarius, Lilith will apply an harmonious trine to Uranus and Eris. And because Sagittarius also rules the laws, I expect a number of laws in women’s benefit to be passed (on the topic of equal payment we need to wait until Lilith moves into Capricorn, at the end of this year).
  • Some false teachers, leaders, gurus, corrupt politicians will be unmasked during Lilith’s transit into Sagittarius. Sagittarius wants to be fair – so people who fall to live in Truth and Integrity will have a hard time during this transit, because Lilith will expose every dirty secret, every mascarade.

Lilith in Sagittarius will set all of us free! To get more insights into what to expect for check the area of your chart transited by Lilith.

Let’s get some real life examples of what Lilith in Sagittarius stands for,  by analyzing four celebrities that have Lilith in Sagittarius in close conjunction with the Ascendant. Conjunctions to the Ascendant best carry the archetype of the particular energy of the planet.

  • Prince William has Lilith at 29° Sagittarius closely conjunct his ascendant at 27° Sagittarius. With William we can see the negative manifestation of Lilith is Sagittarius (Prince William lost his mother Princess Diana at a very young age) and also the positive, liberating nature of Lilith. William broke the royal protocol and married a ‘commoner’ (Kate, who also has Lilith in Sagittarius). William and Kate are now the role models of the “modern” royal family, having broken a numerous  long-standing royal family rules, for example choosing to live in the countryside (and not in London), practicing hands-on parenting or sending their child prince George to a local school.
  • Brigitte Lahaie is radio host on a show on love and sexuality. Brigitte is mainly known for her former career in the pornographic industry. Her Lilith is at 13° closely conjunct to her rising at 16° Sagittarius. It is interesting that Brigitte is a big fan of horse riding (The symbolism of Lilith in Sagittarius goes even further).
  • Courtney Cox is another celebrity with a close Lilith Ascendant conjunction in Sagittarius. We all know Courtney from Friends and the Scream trilogy (horror movies are very Black Moon Lilith-like), but few things you might not know about her:  She was the girl picked by Bruce Springsteen to dance next to him in the famous “Dancing in the dark” video clip. Also Courtney appeared on a commercial for Tampax and became the first person to use the term “period” on TV. Talking about women liberation! Quite a lot of Lilith symbolism here 😉
  • Ronald Reagan, the 40th president of the US had Lilith at 29 °in Sagittarius in a tight conjunction with his Rising at 27° Sagittarius. Even if later in his career he declared himself “pro life”, during his tenure as the Governor of California he signed into law the “Therapeutic  Abortion Act”, aimed to reduce the number of back room abortions performed in California.  As a result, approximately one million abortions would be performed.

Lunar Eclipse In Leo – Time To Roar

February 10th brings us a spectacular lunar eclipse at 22° Leo. Supported by a mystic rectangle and a grand Fire Trine, the lunar eclipse in Leo is a wonderful way to kickstart the brand new Eclipse cycle on the Leo Aquarius axis.

Yes, with the first Lunar Eclipse in Leo we say goodbye to the Virgo lessons and start embracing the new fresh (and hot) leonine lunar energy.

A lunar eclipse is a Full Moon on steroids, heightening the effects of a Full Moon, bringing the necessary endings and the feared beginnings, catalyzing forward movement and change, giving us all the clarity we need, and revealing the new avenues and directions of our destiny.

The Eclipse will be visible form most parts of the world, however because it is a penumbral eclipse it is rather subtle –  but if you chose to moongaze on Friday night you will notice the Full Moon will look slightly dimmer than usual.

In Native American traditions the February Full Moon was knows as the Snow Moon, a time to hide from the rough nature and spend more time inside the home with the tribe.

Coming back to astrology, this lunar eclipse is truly special, because it is supported by a mystic rectangle. The tension of the two oppositions (Sun/Moon and Jupiter/Uranus) is harmoniously channeled by the supporting sextiles and trines. Jupiter (23° Libra) trines the Sun (22° Aquarius) and makes a sextile to the Moon (22° Leo), while Uranus (21° Aries) trines the Moon and makes a sextile to the Sun. This is just wonderful! …especially if you have planets around 21°-23° in Fire or Air signs (Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius).

katy_perry_roar_tiger

Saturn is also around, beautifully positioned in a Fire grand trine together with the Moon and Uranus, making sure that all this positive energy is turned into something meaningful and durable. The trine between Saturn in Sagittarius and Uranus in Aries will bring the best from (the otherwise extremely different energies) from the legendary father and son, as Uranus creates change where is needed and Saturn provides the maturity and the self-awareness to make smart and educated decisions.

Leos (especially those born between 13 and 17 of August) are especially favored because this Lunar Eclipse is all about them (and they love that! All about THEM (haha). This Full Moon will bring into focus all the Leo themes:  self-expression, creativity, fun, romance, children and a bit of drama. If you want to launch something and get some spotlight, this is great time to do so!

Jupiter opposite Uranus will bring unexpected turns of events and all kind of surprises.  You should definitely plan for some social event of Friday night – you are going to have a great time! Leo is afterwards the most playful, enthusiastic and fun sign.

The moon shining in Leo is like a lioness roaring so get ready to get out of your comfort zone and draw attention on yourself. The world wants to know more about you!

“I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter,

dancing through the fire

Cause I am a champion and

You’re gonna hear me ROAR

Louder, louder than a lion”

Eclipses In The Ancient Times

Now that the Eclipse season is on (with a Lunar Eclipse on the 10th of February and a Solar Eclipse on the 25th of February) let’s have a look at how Lunar and Solar eclipses were regarded by the great ancient civilizations.
As you can imagine, the interpretations of the ancient astrologers were pretty fatalistic, focusing on physical events and tragedies.

Illustration of Ancient Peruvians Worshipping the Eclipse

But we as a human species have evolved through time and with evolution comes the free will.

It is believed that nowadays the enlightened individual is in almost complete control of their fate (…so if you have a challenging chart, with lots of squares or Saturn or Pluto, there is hope! just work on becoming the best version of yourself, and the more you will become it, the less the planets will influence you).

***

Meaning of the Solar Eclipses in the Ancient Times:

In January it indicates great prosperity and increase of rains and fruits.  Contentions will increase, and perfidy among people.

The February  solar eclipse it indicates wars, and death of sheep and plentifulness of olives. Rains will increase, and the melons and the olive oil will rot.

In March it indicates goodness of the year, excessive rains. Some of the crops will rot and the oil will be scanty. The year will be a peaceful one.

If the eclipse falls in April it indicates wars and discords. dearness and mortality.

In May it indicates sickness and violent contention and journeys.

In June it indicates mortality among cattle and increase of hostility.

The July eclipse indicates mortality and wars  and dissensions on the plains. Ships will sink in the sea and the soldiers will be mobilized.

In August it indicates scarcity of rains and increase of robbers and corruption.

The September solar eclipse indicates oppression in every place and appearance of locusts. Corruption will increase, and rain will be diminished at the beginning of the year and increased at its end. Contentions will increase among people.

In October it indicates excess of rains and cold, and wars will become violent. There will be plague among horses and goats.

In November, if there occur an eclipse of the sun, it indicates disease in the end of the year, and cold and snow.

The December eclipse indicates increase of rains and snows and fertility of crops and peace among people.

Meaning of the Lunar Eclipses in the Ancient Times:

The January lunar eclipse indicates cheapness in the year and justice; the will be good and the affairs of merchants prosperous.

In February it indicates plentiful rains and overflowing of the rivers, winds and earthquakes, and in summer great heat.

In March, an eclipse of the moon indicates terrible colds and snows. The year will be good in crops and wine and olive oil. There will be contentions between the kings the word of quarrels will arise.

In April a lunar eclipse indicates snows and strong winds. Corruption and contentions will increase in the land.

In May it indicates journeys and sickness, mortality of cattle, corruption of vetches, overflowing of springs. The year will be plentiful with its produce.

In June it indicates peace for the poor and trouble for the great, and famine in the west, and justice appears.

The July eclipse indicates immoral conduct in the world; plentiful rains. In autumn diseases will increase and there will be shortage of crops.

In August it indicates much bloodshed; there will be shortage of crops and a king will die.

If the Eclipse is in September, rivers will expand, and there will be various pains among infants in autumn.

In October it indicates security in the year and fertility of the earth, and plentiful rains. There will be thunderbolts and thunder, and some of the grain will rot.

In November the moon eclipse indicates weather calamities, cold and much frost. Famine in the plains. Locusts will appear.

In December it indicates rain and snow, and terrible cold. The olives will be be good with the fruit.

***

Of course nowadays astrology is much less fatalistic and much more psychological, and eclipses today generate rather fascination than fear – but having a look at where we came from can teach us a great deal about both the limitations of our human nature and the mightiness of the Universe…and will hopefully make us appreciate every little moment of our short but amazing life.

Jupiter Turns Retrograde – Keep The Faith

Jupiter will station and begin its 4-month retrograde period on February 6th 2017.

Jupiter turns retrograde at 23° Libra – if you have planets or angles around 23° in any sign (but especially Libra, Aries, Cancer, Capricorn, Gemini or Aquarius) this station, when the essence of Jupiter is at its strongest –will speak to you deeply. The same goes if your rising sign is in Sagittarius or Pisces, because Jupiter is your (co)chart ruler.

5-jupiter-retrograde

To get more insights about the area of your like that is going to be affected by the Jupiter station, have a look at which house Jupiter is currently transiting.  For example, Jupiter is transiting my sixth house – so I started to question my values about my lifestyle and nutrition (with a stellium in the 6th house, I am already a nutrition freak and eat very healthy, but there is always room for improvement;)

Jupiter is retrograde until the 9th of June when will station direct at  13° Libra.  Libras born between 2nd and 12th of October will benefit the most because Jupiter, the ‘grand benefic’  will conjunct their Sun three times!

Jupiter retrograde motion will effect all of us in some way or another. Jupiter retrograde will encourage us to reflect on the big questions of life and see things in different ways.  If Jupiter direct is the Preacher, Jupiter retrograde is the Devil’s advocate. In this context, the Devil’s advocate mission is take a closer look and question our beliefs, as well as the beliefs of our society.

When Jupiter slows down we will have the chance to see the details we missed when Jupiter was direct. Jupiter is now in an opposition to Uranus, so it’s very likely that the upcoming months will mark new discoveries, breakthroughs and unexpected turns of events. And because Jupiter is in Libra most of the breakouts will be in the areas of relationships and partnerships.

Jupiter retrograde in Libra is an invitation to keep our faith alive and strong, without losing sight of our purpose.

This retrograde of Jupiter is highly beneficial because it will start with a trine to the Sun, and it will end again with another trine to the Sun. In the middle of the retrograde, the tension will increase, as Jupiter will apply its 2nd opposition to Uranus on March the 2nd and the 2nd square to Pluto on March 30th.

Here is an overview of all the aspects Jupiter makes during the retrograde period:

  • February 11th  – Jupiter  at 23° Libra trine Sun at 23° Aquarius
  • February 21stJupiter at 22° Libra trine Mercury at 22° Aquarius
  • February 27thJupiter at 22° Libra opposite Mars at 22° Aries
  • March 2ndJupiter at 22° Libra opposite Uranus at 22° Aries
  • March 24thJupiter at 20° Libra opposite Mercury at 20° Aries
  • March 30th  – Jupiter at 19° Libra square Pluto at 19° Capricorn
  • April 7thJupiter at 18° Libra opposite Sun  at 18° Aries
  • May 12thJupiter at 14° Libra trine Mars at 14° Gemini
  • May 19thJupiter at 13° Libra opposite Venus at 13° Aries
  • June 3rdJupiter at 13° Libra trine Sun at 13° Gemini
  • June 9thJupiter turns direct at 13° Libra

The Jupiter Uranus opposition and the Jupiter Pluto square will make the upcoming months rather energy draining. Keep the faith and remember that the darkness always turns to light.

Juno In Capricorn – Stand Your Ground

Juno, Jupiter’s wife symbolizes our attitude toward relationships, especially the themes of commitment and equality in relationships. Juno also rules the insecurities and jealousies that can arise in relationships.

In Greek mythology, Juno was the suspicious and jealous wife, chasing her husband’s mistresses and punishing both her husband and his lovers for their infidelities. But  “jealousy”  is an oversimplification of what Juno stands for. More than the “jealous” wife, Juno is the “forgiving” wife. Jupiter cheated on Juno again and again, yet she still stayed with him, fulfilling her marital duties.

Juno simply knows what it takes to have a relationship that is set on equal terms, a relationships that can stand the test of time. Equal terms can mean anything from “I’ll cheat on you if you cheat on me” to true commitment, when we stick to our partner though the good but also through the bad times, no matter what  – and Juno understands the value of commitment more than anyone else.

2-juno-capricorn

Most of us have some kind of challenge around making the transition from romantic love to commitment.  In astrology, Venus and the 5th house rule romantic love and the beginning of relationships, while Juno and the 7th house rule committed relationships and official partnerships.

Juno is literally acknowledged as the asteroid of Marriage. Astrological research has shown over and over again the strong link between Juno and marriage. Juno transits often pop up in marriage charts or in husband/wife synastries.

On the 2nd of February Juno moves from freedom-loving Sagittarius into serious, ambitious and responsible Capricorn.

In Capricorn, Juno is strong and stands her ground. More than in any other sign, Juno in Capricorn demands respect. She makes up her own mind and exudes authority through her presence, class and outstanding style. She wants to be surrounded by and she’s actively looking for partners who understand her ambition and drive for success.

Juno in Capricorn seeks depth and the assurance of long-term commitment, more exactly traditional forms of commitment. If she feels she’s losing control, Juno in Capricorn will enter defense mode and do everything under her power to regain it and demand obedience.

And because Juno is the Goddess of Marriage, when in Capricorn, she will take marriage with the utmost seriousness. She sees marriage as a social contract in which both partners support each other’s reputation, climb the social ladder and keep each other looking good.

For all of us, during Juno’s transit in Capricorn will become more important to “officialize” our partnerships,  sign long-term contracts and “get our act together”.  More than ever we will now want to take pride in our partner – not in the way Juno in Leo “brags” with a beautiful or rich lover, but a sense of pride for the accomplishments, success and authority that our partner has gained through hard work.

The deeper meaning of Juno in Capricorn is about taking responsibility for our own life. We need to become that responsible partner we are looking for. We need to stand our ground and defend our faith and values. We need to commit to become the best version of ourselves.
